- I know this Apex Legends guide can seen very basic. But I see even high level plays make these mistakes. I am not sure why. But hopefully this helps in terms of thought process with doors on Apex Legends and helps you improve!

I know feels like a basic guide. But I wouldn't make it if I did not see so many mistakes. I see it in lots of VOD reviews, but also hesitation. This was a question asked by the community on discord...then realized never made a video on it. I don't think this video will perform very well. But that's not the point of the video. I hope it helps those out there! :)
How do you actually hold the door that’s why I looked up how to hold doors on apex…
You didn't mention that if you're holding a door, then your enemy tries to open it: you've now got a huge advantage because you can step back and the door will open towards you. This constantly catches people off guard because they'll see I'm blocking it, press 'open' anyway, then try to block it themselves to pop a cell or a bat. Then when the door opens towards me as I step back, they rarely see it coming. You can also do it when they kick and they're stuck in the animation for a short time.
First time someone did it to me, my mind was blown lol.

Broooo, I've lost so many door stand offs cuz i was kicking straight on and I could never figure out how they could kick and move out of the way so fast!!!! THANK YOU.
For a basic guide, you sure missed a lot of stuff.
-Frag grenades damage thru closed doors without indicator (within radius of grenade)
-On the bottom corner of the hinges of a closed door, you can throw grenades thru it. Thermites are not effective for this tactic.
-caustic traps have a few different interactions with doors. If placed incorrectly, you can shoot caustic traps thru doors to shut them down. (Even on the other side)
-Bangalore smoke can damage doors WITHOUT CRACKING THE DOOR. (Do this by hitting smoke explosion NEAR door. If smokes hit door directly, it will visibly crack) You can trick people, and/or set up a bunch of one hit doors with bang to surprise people as they hold them.
-Catalyst Q damages thru doors
-Horizon Ult rips doors and pulls people within radius.
-guns that shoot doors open: L star, charged sentinel.
Guns that shoot thru doors: charged up rampage, Sheila
Worst Legends you don’t wanna try and fight thru doors (in order) without an extra advantage: catalyst, rampart, maggie, fuse, Horizon, caustic, and sometimes wattson.
might be basic but this really makes the difference! I recently hit plat but im only one month into apex, cant count the number of times I got pushed on trying to shield behind a door because i didnt know how to play them

Bangalore's smoke bombs can also break doors if the projectiles are properly shot at them. I believe you also forgot to mention that certain weapons like the sentinel or wingman can shoot the door open . I've killed ppl holding the door by shooting at it , create that small gap between the doors then shoot the enemy through the gap .
Funny how some high ranked players skip some of the basics because they’re always 3 stacked. Never realizing that the little things could push them over the top.
isnt there an angle to throw a normal nade behind the doors, or did I make that up?

I really liked the guide. But I think you missed one important tip. You actually can throw grenades through little corners around the door. Especially if it’s a double door you got 4 usable corners there, if single - only 2. Knowing it just gamechanging, if someone holding door, healing there you throw nade through the bottom corner and they are done. They gotta stop healing and leave the only cover they have giving you time to open the door and shred them before nade goes off.
Its risky but if I am holding and trying to use a battery. You can spam open and close the door during their kick to make them miss the kick down.
u forgot the frag grenade trick. i got a clip using it today i can DM u the clip if u want. great vid regardless… still learned a lot from it
Sorry to bother you but for doors, if you want to run through a door and close it behind you, how do you avoid the door closing in on you and you getting stuck on the door?

2 things that were missed 1. If you are in a 1v1 situation, it may be good to let single doors open a little bit towards you. This will keep the door trying to open and if you have a shotgun, sniper, or smg u can time the opening by stepping backand quickly shooting(especially good if they decided to look away for a second) 2 grenades can slide under doors from the bottom corner(there's a small triangle that allows them to go through. It somewhat works with arcs as well)
Good door vid. I always loved this spoofy bangalore door ping line someone came up with which was "door here, separates the outside from the inside" 😆
I've seen a clip where you shoot in the middle of the door and it does damage, is that patched, if not what would you do?
If someone tries to open it yeah, just make sure you body is center of the door and you are right up against it. Otherwise that crack can happen. That is a good question and wish I thought of it for the video!

What about when you are on sitting on double doors holding them against someone, and the opponent is able to open the door while you are on it? This has happened to me a multitude of times, and I don’t know how to do it to other people, let alone counter this. Please make a video or add in somewhere about this!
You have to be exactly in the middle of the double doors and touching it otherwise it can open slightly. I've died so many times because of it.
