Another tip, he's great to counter Mirage, you stick Mirage with your whistler, it will ping/mark the original Mirage whenever he uses his ultimate or makes more clones.
Only recently returned to the game and hadn't played Ballistic before and struggled a bit with him. After watching this and playing 3 games using the advice, I managed 50% of the kills in my previous dozen games. Really enjoying him now and can't wait to really see his potential!

I've recently gotten back into apex and was obsessed with movement characters like Path, Octane, and Rev. But movement isnt going to win you fights and gunplay is my biggest weakness. Ballistic alone is such an awesome character for his lore, aesthetic, and style. But his kit is what definitely pulled me in, allowing me to be more aggressive in fights and learning so much more. DIDNT KNOW IT WAS COMING OUT TODAY OMG! my keybinds are thumb button for whistler and Q to get out the sling gun, x to store weapon in sling, I love the q being switch out cuz if you fat finger q you dont accidentally use ur tactical
obvious recent tip if it wasn't already said: mozam in sling automatically gives you akimbo. That in itself is what made me consider giving another try with ballistic, and so far I'm liking him. :)
7:34 Another small tip: make sure you grab the ammo stack before putting the gun in your sling, that way the extra ammo is already in the gun without having to reload it

But playing him in pubs and ranked he’s def the second entry fragger. My friend plays ash and nothing better than popping the ult and hitting a port and pushing a team when your cracked out. Such fun! Re45 and Havoc rip people. Awesome video. I use the longer whistler. But I’m going to try your rec on the sling upgrade. Thank you!
Great video! I just started using him. I try to play everyone. After running him a couple games, he turned out to be pretty intense! The whistler is awesome. You're video taught me everything I needed to know so good job!
I love playing Ballistic. He’s a great change of pace character after I’ve been playing Newcastle. My only problem with him is his tactical is too inconsistent. Even when it makes the sound that it’s locked on it will blow right past them(if you are too close). Also, I don’t like that the proximity bubble of where it’s placed doesn’t mean that if they step in there that it sticks them. Most of the time they would have to actually go around to the side where the bullet is on for them to get stuck with it. Meaning if the bullet was on the front side of a box, they could just play that whole backside and not get stuck even though they are dancing in and out of the bubble. Great character. But his tactical is so buggy, it’s hard to overlook at times.
With the enemy going around the bubble you should be using this knowledge to your advantage, if the bubble hasn't ticked them, predict that they will go around and be ready for it! Even if the enemy doesn't get ticked by it, it can still be useful! With the tac blowing past them if your close, it should normally plant on the floor, which you can still use to your advantage or the enemy will strafe into!
As a 2nd Ballistic main (Fuse 1st for me XD) if I ever decide to want to go pro in the future (which is a bit of a dream for me at the moment as a casual gamer), I will definitely use Ballistic and show why he should be part of the legend comp :D
akimbo guns are legit nuts season 22 with hammerpoint in sling, it's crazy. You only have to pick up 1 gun to get akimbo too. That p2020 on drop becomes a nightmare especially with ult. Win all your early drop fights...
So I recently started playing apex again after a 18 month break. Also Coming back to this video after watching the other day. After trying him in the range to get used to his sling on my keybinds. I then played him for approx 10 games, I can safely say I will be using him a lot more in the new season. I play loba mainly as I have heirloom, but I will pick him if she is ever taken, the passive with the sling weapon off drop is so strong. The 1v1 potential with his tactical is so good as well. Plus his ult has helped me wipe multiple squads already in a 1v3. Only Downside is I suck still on m&k as fairly new on the input. But that will come with time.
Rowtide what do you think about the Havoc getting mag nerfs do you think it's too much or do you think it's not bad. Also what do you think about the G7 scout getting buffed and the Longbow.
I think it will be very viable still, will still use it a lot! But needed nerf, best choice they could have made when nerfing it IMO! So still will be fun to use, but only time will tell!
@rowtide Ballistic was my first 20 bomb and was before 500 total kills so I feel like I have a good grasp on his kit but can we get a guide on the intricacies of his whistler? It would be really appreciated. I feel like it's really inconsistent on connecting at super close ranges and sometimes it won't lock on even when my target is unaware of me. Am I doing something wrong? Is it skill related? Could getting in a laggy server play a role? Now im play Ballistic and its hard😢.im console player and I'm confused by the buttons.1weapon,2weapon,third sling weapon. 😢 After fight I need reload 3 weapons. I always forget reload sling weapon. Im 48years old. Ballistic is too hard for my brain😅 but i will train
YOU GOT THIS! Ballistic a very overwhelming legends at first but trust the more you play, the better your gonna handle is kit! I promise! I've been through it!
Do you have any suggestions on how to make the whistler lock on faster? There are times where I could be aiming the whistler at someone but it takes longer than normal or simply doesn't lock on.
You are probably letting go to quickly OR if you are not, I would recommend shake your screen so the lock on GUI isn't on them for half a second then re focus on the enemy and it should lock on again! Sometimes it just needs little reset!

I’ve used the speedy perk to get to cover when the ring is closing on me in end game and I’m getting gate kept.
I just use "3" for my sling gun, feels natural.
