Author, you are lucky! You have such a person in the frame! It’s a pity you don’t know, otherwise you would have delayed the camera!))) 8:10 - Mikhail Kusnirovich, Russian entrepreneur and chairman of the supervisory board of the Bosco di Ciliegi group of companies. Kusnirovich takes 140th place in the list of 200 richest people in Russia, compiled by Forbes magazine. His fortune is estimated at 750 million dollars. Russell, why would you go to GUM and SKIP the Gastronome - the thing closest to your area of interest 😭😭😭 Please show the Gastronome, too. Notes: 1) 13:34 They are not making pretzels, they are making trdelniks - traditional Czech pastry. In Moscow, it's usually sold at Christmas markets. 2) Stolovaya 57 is not supposed to be "luxury" - the whole concept is a typical Soviet canteen with typical Soviet designs from like the 50's-60's. It's very cheap and "working class" and there is an irony behind opening it in a luxury mall. Also, I wouldn't call it a "cafe" - it's a self service canteen with typical canteen food - once again pretty CHEAP food. No one would go to a cheap self service canteen to feel that they are "rich" and "can afford" something. It's a nostalgic experience + simple but tasty old timey recipes😊Also, considering the whole retro aesthetic in Gum (they always have these retro decorations and displays, ice cream sellers wear traditional uniforms and the music playing in the mall is mostly old Soviet hits) it kinda fits in there thematically.

Russell, I’m really enjoying the picture quality and whatever adjustments you’ve made! Keep up the great work my friend, it just keeps getting better and more interesting
It looks like they closed their shops but didn’t want to give up their places in GUM. Otherwise there were a new brands already.

Thanks for the video! I guess to get a full picture of a luxury shopping in Moscow it's absolutely neccessary to visit Tsenralny Univermag as well (it's right next to Bolshoy). In some way it is even more popular than GUM, both among the rich and celebrities and middle-class folks with some money who want to make a luxury appearance. My sister used to work there and it's really a huge place and prices are insane (though i can't tell how convenient it is to film there).
That is so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. In Canada at the entrance of each door to the malls there are maps that show where you are. What stores are on each level by name. Where the washroom facilities are and it shows each level and the same.. So no matter what level you are on you know where you are and the emergency exits etc. I can't imagine why they would keep the stores a bit of a secret on different levels but that is ok. I don't need to understand everything. But it is beautiful. We use Centigrade in Canada also and here we also have cold winters. So I feel for you.
They do a great job attracting people to come into this mall, very festive for the holidays. Have never seen anything like the video gaming store you showed at the end, very interesting.

The last time I was there in 1991, visiting from the USA, 6 weeks after the coup. Most of shops in the GUM were abandoned, closed, some were going through remodeling. Some viewers say that food in that place is delicious and not expensive.
Clean and respectful, a complete contrast to merica!
3:09 Bosco is a russian company and it is the owner of GUM itself.
30:09 Sublime is a part of the Bosco company :)
and Articoli too :)
Author, you are lucky! You have such a person in the frame! It’s a pity you don’t know, otherwise you would have delayed the camera!)))
8:10 - Mikhail Kusnirovich, Russian entrepreneur and chairman of the supervisory board of the Bosco di Ciliegi group of companies.
Kusnirovich takes 140th place in the list of 200 richest people in Russia, compiled by Forbes magazine. His fortune is estimated at 750 million dollars. Kusnirovich manages more than 200 single-brand and multi-brand boutiques, as well as the Moscow GUM. In addition to Bosco di Ciliegi, he is the founder of the Cherry Forest Arts Festival and commercial skating rinks on Palace Square in St. Petersburg and Red Square in Moscow.
Roman Abramovich is wandering around the store somewhere nearby.... :)))
That was an interesting tidbit.
You are so friendly and positive. Nice video.
I appreciate that! Thank you. Russell.
thanks Russell. very impressive place. was there years ago. not like today. very impressed with the quality of the stores. a match to the best in the world for shopping. but quiet. perhaps the rich shop earlier in the day. even if you don't buy a great visit site. well, shopping may be expensive at least the lights and heat will not go off in Moscow this winter. toodeloo.
Fascinating exploration of Russia the computer gaming just mystifies me ,but of course I am definitely the wrong age. I visited GUM in 1983 and even then it was overflowing with very chic and upmarket stores although the Wrangler jeans were thought of as a luxury! Expected to see more Russian luxury stores .
Looking forward to more exploration and where everything is relative to each other.
From the revolving doors and the suspended sleds in mid air it is easy to say GUM is a supreme luxury shopping center well ahead of its time!
I agree, this mall is amazing, even if you're like me and love to walk through and only have an ice cream and take in the seasonal decorations.
Russell, I’m really enjoying the picture quality and whatever adjustments you’ve made! Keep up the great work my friend, it just keeps getting better and more interesting
Much appreciated! Thank you. Russell.
It looks like they closed their shops but didn’t want to give up their places in GUM. Otherwise there were a new brands already.

Thank you Russell for sharing your video of this amazing shopping centre !
Oh, i was waiting for GUM restroom tour!! It’s a marble museum! So sad you didn’t go there😅
Yes!
I went to GUM in 1993, was a real soviet store. Good to see it's still operating.
Wow! I’d have loved to have seen it back then!
We went in 1994. Very few stores open, mostly things like knitwear, souvenirs.

Hi Russell the video is amazing GUM the best mall in de world the quality the image is excellent greetings from Spain friend
Dear Russell, yes, please please please, do the video of Gastronom nu. 1! Thank you. And yes, ice cream in GUM is divine.

Phantastisch 😁
It is beautiful! What fun to walk through!
Luxury department stores in the West , you would not be getting snacks and ice creams for $1.50 , closer to $5.00 for each . Very affordable to the average tourist or Russian citizen visiting .
I love GUM, the Ice cream, Abrau Durso bar🫢 and pancakes upstairs🫣
To be serious it is extremely beautiful and I love seeing every new decoration ,,season,, there! I visit GUM quite often
There is certainly something about taking a walk in there, having an ice cream and doing some window shopping. Russell.
Great video GUM looks amazing at night too. Hope to catch the night view next time.
Thanks. I’ve been to Russia three times. I was a translator for the Moscow hotline. Worked with a lot of former DPs. One Russian said your Russian is good; are your parents Russian? I said no but I was born in Petersburg. He was impressed until I added “Florida”.
Visit Ekaterinburg sometime and show us the Black Tulip, the monument to the fallen.
Welcome to our Motherland Russia dear People from West . Dont belive your propaganda. We are very friendly nation. Our nation consist from more than 190 nationality. Peace to all❤️🇷🇺
Thanks for the kind words. Russell.
then why do you visit your neighbour with a machine gun in your hand to kill them?
it's a amazing shopping.
It's certainly a nice mall to walk through. Russell.

Wow at 8:11 you can see founder of Bosco brand. Just like that casually standing near Christmas tree.
Now this was impressive
The gaming place at the end was very cool. Here in the US they have them in major cities. Thanks for bonus footage.
Oh somehow I don't think Russell will have problem filming wherever he wants to.
Hi Russell, on 8-12 you can see the man with big belly) he’s actually owner of GUM and BOSCO
@Reverend Boaz
because he very famous and many people knowing him from TV and other news sources )
GUM also has such maps, as in any large shopping center in the RF
GUKKI I'm sorry Gucci)))
RUSSELL You're a cool dude!

They do a great job attracting people to come into this mall, very festive for the holidays. Have never seen anything like the video gaming store you showed at the end, very interesting.

Good video, love the café and gum they have something like that how in the US at Nordstrom called the Nordstrom Café I think it’s called anyway thanks for the video and the gaming room look neat
Thanks for commenting as always. I am going to make a full video in that last place, it's the central children's store in Moscow. The world's largest children's store for that matter. Russell.
Russell, do you have St. Petersburg in your plans? See the old city center and its history. As one man with a strange mustache, the city was founded on a "swamp".
Right next door to this is Gostiny Dvor, a big exhibition space. You might wanna pop in for the tail end of the Russian Antique Salon or the non/fiction book fair that starts immediately after ;) Tickets are pricey, though
Such a beutiful country and city. I wish one day we can solve our political issues and embrace russia into the western world kind of like germany in the 2nd half 20th century (altough better of course).
Well said. Thanks. Russell.
All those brand store will definitely come back to life eventually. They keep paying the rent and hold on to place.
Its an interesting situation. They don't want to give up a valuable location in this mall for sure. Russell.

Thank you Russel for the tour of the most famous shopping mall in Moscow. I used to go there quite often when I lived in Moscow, many years ago. The last time I was there in 1991, visiting from the USA, 6 weeks after the coup. Most of shops in the GUM were abandoned, closed, some were going through remodeling. But the whole atmosphere was a reflection of the tough and desperate times in the country. I’m happy to see the glorious return of this iconic place. And Guccies, Cartie, Van Clief and Arpel and others will return too. More tours, please
Great tour of ГУМ Russell.
That gaming place in the underground centre at the end is somewhere I may have hung out in when I was younger and playing games like Doom ))
