I remember initially not being on-board with anything "65" because in my opinion, names of dishes shouldn't have numbers in them. Do you know the real origins of 65? Is it 65 spices, or was it created in 1965? 😂
Chicken 65 was the first dish that was introduced with this name. Early on, it specifically meant that the chicken is just 65 days old when it was destined to become a food. Compared to 5 or 6 month old chicken, this 65 day old chicken was seemed tender and it's name catched on to every other place. It was first introduced by Buhari hotel, Mount road, Chennai around 50 years ago. Now a days,,these deep fried dishes like panneer, mushroom and everything else got their name with 65, thanks to Chicken 65.

I've been looking on google, seems to be differing explanations...
I personally like:
"believed to have originated at the Hotel Buhari in 1965."
