Quennels aura is something like having a well known hot keyboardist come to town and they do a show and kiiiill it. Then after, a local musician is like hey I want u to come hear my friend, he’s pretty amazing. The popular keyboardist agrees and is taken to a little store front black church and as he enters, he hears Oscar Peterson like movements and touch with art Tatum precision and when he turns the corner, there’s Gaskin “messin around” on the piano w/ a smile on his face. Quennel gaskin never promoted himself, now he’s known in music circles in Germany and japan and other regions. Talk about your gift making room😳🙏🏾

Those are the two single most influential voices heard in Corey's approach especially with them being older and more experienced but he is there now with the greats
