Agreed! Some guitar purists would say you shouldn’t modify a guitar that a master builder built. Kind of like editing a photo your wedding photographer already edited. lol
Swapping pickup won't effect the value nor will adding caps I would assume. Rare to have guitars with original pots. Keep the originals hardware as you said. She's a beauty.
@@BushidoPhoto No musician has the same instrument with the same parts once they start touring. Sometimes the very instrument doesn't survive and is parted and remade then sold to someone who thinks it's real. GNR's Appetite for Destruction was recorded and toured with a Chibson knock off heh.
What ever makes you happy.

You could’ve reached out to the Duncan custom shop to get the neck pup rewound.
In any case, super envious of a made in USA Gretsch Jet.
I still can’t believe I have one either.
The neck of your guitar seems to be raised up way too far off the body......Have you noticed it? 7:42
It’s totally normal for a Duo Jet to look like that. It’s a USA custom shop model too.

I agree 100%. I expected the purists out there to attack me over the modifications. Thank you!

@EasyThere That’s crazy! I didn’t know they ended up using Chibson’s.
@@BushidoPhoto Just the Les Paul Slash used. They were poor and couch surfing till they got their Geffen deal. Can't say about Izzy.
@EasyThere Rad!
