The soldier with the flashlight at the end is meant to symbolize Norman at the start, not willing to kill out of compassion.
Which was very rare with SS troops
I almost joined the army by years ago
Actually I think it’s more like they already knew they lost not just this encounter but throughout everywhere they were trying to occupy. They were running out of manpower that’s why they were using literal children. they had to fall back on using horses this was also bankrupting them.
@@Tankman11I honestly doubt their quality of SS troops were of good quality by that time of the war. The guy in the end looked young and probably just got drafted to be in that battalion
@@Tankman11 lot of forced drafting to fill up the ranks at the end of the war. you are absolutely right about early to mid war SS though. those guys were indoctrinated to the max.
My husband is a 19k in the Army. He is a tanker. It scares me every time I see this movie cause the tank units are one of the first units to get deployed, if we ever go to war. He's a driver and the driver holes are so tight and small . It's ridiculous. He sends me videos of them firing the tanks and its crazy. He can load the rounds in 5 seconds. You have to be quick while loading because the kickback will literally ,take your arm off. But he has made so many brothers with his platoon and the others that are in his tank with him. I also love this movie because, it shows how tight nit brothers in arms can be. It also shows how war can mess you up mentally and I could never imagine. I have so much respect for any man or woman who has fought in wars and have had experiences in battle. ❤
Shia’s character in this movie is one of my favorite performances in any film of any genre.
Out of all movies, I do think Fury is one of the best at story telling, the movie shows things both directly and indirectly, and visually and emotionally
Served in the 10th Marines for OEF “best job I ever had”
New guy in the team always gets treated like crap lol part of the tradition
Thank you for being braver than others !
Michael Peña is hands down my favorite character in this movie. I cannot stand John Bernthal’s character, but I love him as an actor
John is just too good at playing a total dick, and you can tell he was having a hell of a good time with it lol
US ARMY MAJ, retired (04’ OEF, Iraq). War is hell indeed. Tank crews are tight. Of course they would’ve stayed, no doubt.
God bless you Joey !
Jon Bernthal is my favorite actor in this cast. Everything he is in is phenomenal
U.S. Army First Sergeant (retired). '91 Persian Gulf War, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan. Fantastic film, and great review/reaction.
Thank you for your service 🤍
20 year United States Marine. Iraq, Afghan and two MEUs. This movie is less about the fighting, more about the people you serve with. This movie is so real when it comes to the unity between people that wear the uniform.
Also. One thing I can’t stand is when I hear people say they understand because they know someone that’s been in the military. If you’ve never wore the boots then they’ll never know.
Indeed as I specified I will never act like I know what they go through I’m just here to learn and say thank you 🙏🏼
Awesome reaction. As a marine I have to recommend generation kill and the pacific. Two great shows. Much love and I wish you the best in future endeavors
love the portrayal of the brotherhoods ups and downs. the feeling of a vehicle being your home.
i was in a mechanized unit in the US army and its true how the crews bond.
God bless 🙏🏼
As a former 19K - I second that statement!
The rounds look like lazers becuz they are tracer rounds. The rounds have a pyrotechnic charge in the base. When they shoot the round, it lights up so they can see where it's going and what they're hitting
As a tanker, we absolutely have co-opted "Best Job I Ever Had" from this movie. The infantry and Spec Ops guys get tons of movies, this was the first one in a long time for we Armor troops so its almost univerally loved.
Band of Brothers & The Pacific HBO miniseries are a must see... Semper Fi
The German soldier at the end let him go, in my opinion, because he was another young kid just like Norman at the beginning. 🤷♂️
I served in the Navy from 1983 to 1987, I became a Christian in 1984 while I was still training for my job before going out into the fleet.
Thank you 🙏🏼
Bible was my favorite character always. “God finally called him home” 😢
Much appreciated on the appreciation that you showed towards my brothers, sisters, and myself 🤙Thank you. Shia did an amazing job, and it was very realistic. They had to hold the crossroads because it was so important to the supply line.
No doubt 🙏🏼🤍
You said "there goes that dude...I don't know the actor's name", when they were in the town. That was Scott Eastwood, the son of Clint Eastwood.
A suggestion. (The Thin Red Line) is another more underrated war movie that alot of ppl don't know about.
I have just been selected to serve as an Infantry soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces
31:49 (His death hurt the most)
My guess is, probably because he was a GOD fearing Man 🙏🕊
25:23 Jon Bernthal. Everyone knows him as The Punisher. But I'll always know him as Shane Walsh
#TWD
yes its normal for him to be treated like that USMC here it was actually heart warming and funny to see the banter and the arguing and fighting reminds you of the brothers you serve with, you can tell its love through pain.
the dude with the flashlight was also just a human being who is forced to fight
Only 2 things I have to say about this movie; 1) The American tanks were not outclassed as bad as the intro would make you believe, especially tanks that are the "Easy 8" model like Fury. German tanks had better armor and guns on paper; In reality they were short on steel and tungsten to make proper AP rounds. Fury, with its 76mm high velocity cannon, with HVAP ammo that EVERY AMERICAN TANK HAD, didn't need to be behind the Tiger. They would've shot smoke at him to close the distance 2)The Tiger's crew was dumb as hell, also. Didn't need to move to win that fight
23:57 for the idiots criticizing this film, I'm explaining why Norman started shooting at the tiger, it's a tactic that hasn't been used for a long time, the purpose is to blind the opponent's viewfinder......
Great reaction to a tough movie. It took me years to work up the nerve to watch it.
I am a Navy vet who did 2 trips to Beirut with a detour (we was in the neighborhood) to bomb Libya for a day or two.
Appreciate the shout out!
He is amazing in this but he is phenomenal in Perks of a being a wallflower. I highly recommend it.
31:25 here is the 'testimony' of the posthumous medal of honor......
Such a great movie! Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson😂) is so good in this one, but my favorite movie of his is The Perks of Being A Wallflower. I recommend that one if you haven’t seen it!
Don being hard on Norman is definitely what kept him alive. Norman wouldn't have made it if Don didn't show him tough love
The German who let him go shows that there are good people in the German side aswell. Now I know the guy was SS the worst of the worst, But he was a very young dude so he wasn’t corrupted or atleast yet. Showing that he was very similar to Norman. Both very young dudes who didn’t want to be there but were forced to be. So yes it was out of compassion but there was a connection between both sides of those who were forced into war yet still kept some humanity.
I was in during the Jimmy Carter year's, 4 years on a tank.
I was a tanker. Best job I ever had.
Prior service member here US Army.
26:09 it’s more about being morally ambiguous you’re doing the wrong thing but for the right reason or for what you think is the right reason. So are you good or are you bad for that? God says not to kill but does that mean just don’t kill if it’s not needed or don’t kill at all?
Legends of the Fall - best Brad Pitt movie.
Subtitles:
Black Hawk Down - nah
We Were Soldiers - yes
Inglorious Basterds - yes
You will definitely need subtitles for Inglorious Bastards.
My Grandfather fought in Europe WWII 2nd Infantry Division. Two Purple Hearts/ Bronze Star/ Silver Star/ Five Campaigns. I have his Medals and other things. Thank you for the video. And my suggestion for your reaction is Gettysburg 1993.
Love to see you check out some of the og classic wwii films like castle keep. Patton. To hell and back. And McArthur
My Grandfather was a bomber in WW2. He was shot down over France and there was a demolished zoo and the animals were all over town doing animal shit….he always used to say he had to survive off monkey meat…..still to this day IDK if that was a joke or a “some truth for your ass” statement 🤷♂️
God bless your grandfather and you !
If u want to see more of the actor who plays Norman ‘Percy’ I highly recommend perks of being a wallflower if u haven’t reacted to that yet
You definitely need to watch American Sniper and We Were Soldiers!
Both on the list to do my guy 💪🏽
This is a great film other movies having to do with wars you should react to are "Dead Presidents" "Da 5 bloods" "The War" "A soldiers story"
its interesting to hear you call Brad a here in this. His reason for staying is 100% selfish. he knows he is damaged beyond repair and that he will never function in regular society again. so he picks the option that does a last bit of good before death.
Logan Lerman and Shia are my 2 favorites
Norman's first day on the job!.
When he killed the ss member with the broken arm he asked the guy in german "is he the one who is hanging the kids" the other guy replied yes so thats why they shot him
22:05 here you have the answer to your question, do we know anyone like the one in the previous scene, each of us has been through some shit
we are not psychopaths, something inside us just broke and healed, but in a different way.....
I forgot Logan Lerman (aka Percy Jackson) was in this movie
Ex navy here, nice review man! Keep it up 👍
My little sister is currently in the navy right now ! I’m super proud of her ! God bless you and your family 🙏🏼
Should check out the deleted scenes. U find out Brad Pitts character Don has a younger brother naned Norman that died. I won't say everything but explains why Don joined, and y his back is all burnt up. Happened before the war. But that's y Don looked out for Norman. He reminded him of his younger brother.
Whats even wilder is that the Pacific theater was infinitely worse.
I'd like to theorize that while Norman may have mercy killed those 2 soldiers who were getting cooked, the human psyche has to justify killing someone to some degree just to prepare himself for the next time he'd be depended on to take another soldier's life.
The next scene may undermine that thread a bit, but I think it could still stand.
Great reaction brother. God bless!
I'm glad that you start watching films with message. Those soldiers were as in Private Ryan fighting for ordinary people, for those others who can't defend themselves. Who want to survive, who want to earn, who want to live. There is many films with message out there for you. Also those produced abroad. We in Poland have some war film like "Demons of War", but i understand that for channel purposes you won't publicize that. That for your own enjoyment in personal time. But for American /English viewers maybe Jarhead would be good choice. It presents army in different perspective, less romantic. And of course Mel Gibson films like Signs, Patriot, Braveheart . Greeting from Poland and God bless you
Noble mention : "Shooting dogs" about genocide in Rwanda, Lord of War. Those two are sad movies. Next we have "12 angry men" brilliant low budget film but with very developed characters, "Devil's advocate" about justifying sin, "Scent of a Woman" about importance of integrity and hope, "American History X" it's about hate. "Man on Fire" it's about justice and redemption, "Requiem for a dream" obligatory option for every teenage to see about drug addiction, "Training Day" - again about integrity and to never be naive. Adam Sander's comedio drama "Click" about consequences of avoiding hard thing in life and importance of family. There is more but not English like Gibson apocalypto about never be afraid even if there is no hope. Australian "Those final hours " about people reaction to hopeless situation. Of course I like to watch movies for entertainment but those are serious films.
Awesome reaction dude
Appreciate it!!
The Lone survivor!! Good movie bro
We were soldiers and black hawk down will require subtitles. We were soldiers has some scenes with Vietnamese and black hawk down has Arabic.
Walka z Tygrysem i z Batalionem SS to już taka bajka na potrzeby tego filmu.
19K (Tanker) best job I ever had!
nice, my fav american war movie. all the others arent american
I just realized that Luis from Ant-Man is in this movie
My fave is interview with a vampireeeeeee! I think I fell in love with Brad 1000 times
brad can act. ngl. this is his pocket. raw shit. not all this rom com nonsense
Great reaction. USMC 3/11 Lima Battery. Desert Storm
Such a fantastic movie.
you don't have to pay me respect, I served and continue to serve my country, so help me God, in defense of you and others, I am proud of my service and even if they spit at me, they don't know your truth......
All new guys get messed with. It’s just tradition. Gotta prove you belong, and can’t be a weak link in the chain.
Check out "Perks of Being a Wallflower" with Logan Lerman.
I have 2 cousins that have served
watch
-the captain
-dunkirk
-full metal jacket
Full metal jacket I have seen ! Dunkirk is on the list !
Do black hawk down and maybe even "band of brothers"
Hello my favorite Brad Pitt is INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE he is young in that movie.
They were being tough on him for his own good. Its sucks but when you’re in situations like that being an assholes keeps people alive
Indeed
Rudy
Have you watched Band of Brothers?? If not you definitely should.
I no longer do series on this channel
That is something I’d love to watch on my own time though!
You’d be the goat if you react to “Windtalkers”!
I have saver I’m a tank operator
Well you have to actually learn how to read your hand by the lines on it and luckily i've learned so if u ever show ur hand on cam then i'll tell u in the comments ;)
I’m not a regular here… did he break up w the 🥛?
German army was the strongest
Your channel has potential my guy but you talk way too much
Suggestions : " Bridge on the river Kwai " , " The Dirty Dozen ", Patton ", The Great Escape, " Midway ( 1976 ), " Apocalypse Now ( Vietnam War), and " The Deer Hunter ( Vietnam War ) to name but a Few of many !!! 👌🏾✊🏾💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
