I made one with my daughter when she was 4 . She is 12 now and it's still there. When she is 16 and I'm not cool we are going to open it so she can remember there was a time I was.
My dad told me that a house he used to live at has 100 grand buried but he doesn’t remember where and we pass by the house every year to see if it is abandoned
I was working on an old 1800's church in 1975 and had to remove the "Keystone" to place it on the front of the new addition. A Keystone is piece of stone (white granite in this case) that has the building's dates chiseled into it. When I pulled it out I found a metal box behind it. I turned it over to the church and they found records and memorabilia from it's founding up until 1901 when it was rebuilt after a fire. The church members updated all of the info about the church and included current pictures. They even included a picture of me standing with the box and the Keystone, with a description of who I was and how the box was found. The new box was put behind the new Keystone, which was placed beside the old Keystone on the front of the new church addition. Who knows, maybe in 100 years someone will be looking at my picture and wondering about how life was "back then!"

When my husband of 18yrs tragically died a few years ago I wrote him a letter and put it in a small box together with our wedding bands (we used to talk about whoever goes first takes the rings - long story). I put it in his inside jacket pocket so that it would be right by his heart. I don't know if anyone will ever find it sometime in the future, and I don't know if they'll be able to read the language and know that I'll love him til time stands still.

It depends. Not indefinitely because the tape in made up of different materials and they will deteriorate through decomposition ofer time. It all depends on the different gasses, what liquids and temperatures an item is exposed to and over what length of time. There are to many variables which factor in to the answer.

I really like the idea of opening a time capsule, and then sealing it again with what was there, plus new stuff from 100 years later. If they kept it up, imagine what a treasure it would be, hundreds or thousands of years later!
There is expedition to Bouvet Island, with is cold island further away from any other land, on top of this island (its pretty big) they are planning to bury a time capsule, so i think it might stay there for very long, cause its one of rarest visited places in the word. fewer peoples were on top of it's highest mountain, than on the Moon

It depends. Not indefinitely because the tape in made up of different materials and they will deteriorate through decomposition ofer time. It all depends on the different gasses, what liquids and temperatures an item is exposed to and over what length of time. There are to many variables which factor in to the answer.

I'm from Christchurch, New Zealand. when the Feb 22 2011 happened a statue in front of the Christchurch Catherdral toppled over. Underneath they found a time capsule that no one seemed to know was there.
