Xbox Elite Series 2 serious issues!

  • Hey everyone, didnt think I'd be making this video. I really liked my series 2 and yes liked as in past tense. I explain my reasons for not recommending this controller, basically the right stick hs developed some play, which combining with the minor stick drift really throws the aim off. I didn't notice this at first, but going back and forth between much cheaper controllers and the elite, I realised how much it affects the aiming. Unfortunatley these issues are present online for the original series 2 so that means core suffers with them as well.
    Really upset about this, as one of the biggest reason I love the xbox is the controller. I can't believe that the edge is lasting way better than this.

    Quality review, instant subs. Honestly, I have elite 1, two elite 2 and 1 core. Except elite 1, the others are just keeping breaking in different ways. Most noticeable is the stick drift and right bumper problems, then the back paddle started having problem too, cant press it to be exact unless the angle is right. I just can't stand with the quality anymore. I play Apex alot, maybe thats the reason? I dont know. However, just seen your ROG rakiri review and comparison of gambit and fusion. Really thorough and honest, it is what other RUclipsrs should do. Recently I'm thinking to buy a ROG raikiri pro as im big fan of Asus. If you like the regular one, maybe you should also get the pro version and make some in depth review. Anyways cheers

      Hey thanks bro. The Raikiri honestly surprised me, I’m so upset that I didn’t go for the pro 🤦🏽‍♂️. If ASUs kept the 4 back buttons on the Raikiri then that would’ve been it. I’m definitely working my way towards the Pro, definitely looks like amazing, as someone who use back buttons all the time, I know it’ll perform well.

    Thankfully I have a great repair guy locally who is able to fix them with better parts. I can't use any other controllers, the back paddles are so much better than anything else on the market for me.

      That’s so true, the back pedals are amazing on this controller. Ever since I started using other controllers that are 250hz, going back to the series 2 feels a big downgrade on Xbox, it’s like Inhave to adjust the sensitivity so much in games. I do wish they update this controller with better response time and parts.

    The thumbstick wobble is exactly the reason I returned mine about two years ago. Got an Instinct Pro and found it much better (but with other problems lol). Fast-forward to now, and the carbon potentiometers have all but given up. I've tried a multitude of controllers looking for a replacement: Dualsense 4 w/ back-button attachment, Reflex Pro, and the latest being the Gamesir G7. All with their own fun imperfections. Pro controllers are interesting, but oh so frustrating.

      Tell me about it man, it’s so frustrating. We just need a good reliable controller, everything addresses one issue then brings its own issues with it 🤦🏽‍♂️.

    Had mine for about 6mo, then the left joystick started making this clicking noise when rotating at the 11 to 1 o'clock position. Warranty apparently expired within the time I was able to reach out to support, and it's now going to cost around $100 for a seemingly simple fix. Bought my brother one for Christmas in hopes that he would have better luck, but it came with stick drift right out of the box. We are also out of time-frame for the lawsuit, so I guess Microsoft is willing to spit in my face after 2 decades of loyalty to their brand.
    They're a scam, and I'll never be purchasing any of their products again.

    Ive always wanted to try the elites, but i won't waste my money. Its laughable that even the basic 20 dollar power a controllers are far more reliable than this one. I'll take my gamesir g7 se over any elite, anytime. Nice video

      Yeah this one actually broke my heart, my series 1 lasted well over 6 years and this one didn't even do 5 months of minimum gaming.

    Sadly the core is the same inside as the black one, i have an elite 2 normal (black) since a month, my 2 biggest problem is the battery, you can't remove it like in the elite 2 but the biggest issue is the big deadzone, maybe because the adjustable stick tension, maybe, after a month i still try to used to it, after a lot of changes in the software it's still not feel right, my previous controller is the thrustmaster eswap x pro and it's amazing, fast and so accurate
    I personally like the buttons more than the paddles
    Really weird almost no one mention this deadzone problem, i saw a few posts on reddit
    Sadly the eswap s have only 2 back buttons so i maybe try the power a fusion pro 3 or the victrix gambit, i feel the razer v2 chroma is a downgrade from the ultimate (razer)
    I need 4 buttons/paddles
    (Playing bf 2042 with controller is just sucks, i tried a lot of settings, i tried eith the thrustmaster controller but it's just sucks)

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  Год назад

      Bro I just got the PowerA fusion pro 3 and made a review of it already. Playing BF2042 is actually really good now for me. I’ll be making a detailed comparison of the gambit and fusion, but in short, gambit is a bit chunky and cheaper feeling compared to fusion 3. Gambit does have better triggers, app support is also better as it can store settings on the controller. The over all contents with gambit are very good(2 back button modules, 2 faceplates, better case). But the feel of the fusion is superior to me, even with inferior triggers, I still prefer playing with fusion. Also fusion has the best back button design IMO. Just be sure what headset you have, both gambit and fusion don’t compare with elite series 2. So lower impedance headsets recommended for them. Hope this helps.

      @@thephototechynk you so much man, i saw your review about the fusion pro 3, after this video i checked your hole channel and watched a couple of videos, everything is really high quality, good channel, i like it, deserve more subs, i think i will try the fusion pro 3 because of the good back button design, i heard the gambit 4 buttons is not that good to use, but maybe i try the gambit in the future, wolverine v2 chroma paddles is also not the most comfortable, i hope Microsoft relasean elite 3 controller later in this year
      I don't connect my headphones into controllers anymore, i bought a dac/amp combo with a volume knob for my tv, try it man, it's not expensive and gives you better sound, i also have a normal (studio) headphone
      You plan to make more controller reviews? Because if yes i will subscribe, this is what i'm being interested about nowadays

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  Год назад

      @@markfromhungary3022 hey you are right about the Razer wolverine, the back pedals aren’t in a good position on that one. Gambit though is a mixed bag, if you can get used to it, it’ll work fine, but now we have the fusion at the same price as gambit, so it gets a bit tricky between these 2.
      I’ll definitely will be making more controller reviews, specially comparing them together.

    Hey I bought this one and want to hear what you say to my experience. So I am playing Call of Duty Mw3, only league mode, so very competitive. Ive always used my wired Advanced Power A Controller and wanted to switch, so I bought the Elite Series 2. The Controller does feel so much worse in comparison to my 40€ Power A controller. The Aiming is so of and I tried every setting and it dint change. It has way higher esponse time I feel. Does it just have way more input lag and is there a way to fix this on console?

    I already bought it from Amazon for my son just because it is £62. I am so worried now and think if I made a mistake or not. I didn’t open it yet. Should I return it? There is no al wireless alternative unfortunately. All razor, thrustmaster etc all are wired unless forking out tons of money for Scuff. If you have any recommendations, please go ahead.

    • @thephototechy

      hey thats a really low price and there are a lot of positive reviews of it out there. I'd say definitely try it first and look for the issues with the bumpers. I had an elite S1 that lasted well over 6 years, but at that low price this is definitely unbeatable, specially if wireless is a must have.
