Speaking loudly and clearly. Everyone tells me that I talk as if I am whispering. This usually reduces my influence in the conversation. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
Thank you, Brian, for this great reminder! I also believe that a firm handshake, eye contact, smile and word of appreciation, like "It is nice meeting you, Brian. I appreciate your time today" is an important part of the initial greeting. Certainly speaking with confidence, active listening, asking the right questions and knowing about the person and industry prior to the visit is also important to the conversation.
Hi, I'm 30 years old, psyhoterapist and lifelong learning specialist and I would add that body language is very important too. Way you stand, shake ones hand, or not, make an eye contact or way we smile etc. I liked what Ive learned in this video, thank you:) Milica:)
SeekBeautyLilly, Can you tell a little bit more about what kind of body language should i have? Should i make eye contact or not even if the one taking interview is of opposite sex? How should i stand? What kind of body language is the best?
One thing i believe i can do, is have a firmer handshake. I am making progress there because most weak handshakes i have received have made me feel like the individual has no interest in talking to me, or has a poor self confidence, or is scared of being infected by some virus i am unaware of my hands have. So having a firm handshake and holding on longer helps us appear confident for a first time impression.
Great lesson Mr. Brian ...my views/ thoughts on this are... 1.. Physical appearance( as u said) 2. Smile 3. Warm Handshake n greetings 4. Asking permission when meeting someone 5. Keeping Ur desk neat n diaries open with things to do 6. On time arrival for meetings n conference 7.on time departure after meeting or conference 8. The neatness of your car ...in sales we keep comb, polish , perfumes in bags n tissue box 9.clear communication 10. When Ur boss comes with u for a client visit I know the roads , the floor where Ur client is n no confusion to reach the clients desk.......all these make a great first impression in different situations...Sridhar ...
Over the years i've learnt a lot from Brian Tracy and i've applied them in my everyday life. This one on IMPORTANCE OF MAKING A GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION is no exception. Thanks Mr Tracy
Whether you’re applying for any job, joining a networking event or, even, meeting with your client for the first time - making a good first impression is so important. Good piece, Brian.
Standing still and confident. The tone of the voice. If you are doing hand shake, shake it strong. Smile, facial expressions and different body languages.
I think a good handshake and a polite greeting will leave a better first impression. I really enjoyed this video, thank you for what you do, Mr. Tracy!
Always talk about positive things and don't make much complaints to the person you want to influence or making him/her to have good impression from you.
Brian thanks for your advise I always say "Thanks Brian" As though you were actually There after a video. Please Run for president if you are able You have helped millions I think You can fix the country
You asked, which other qualities help to make a great first impression. I'd say, what comes to mind: 1) Body language, and more particularly, posture, smiling, and eye contact 2) Confidence in my movement 3) Listening well
GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION: 1-walk comfortable 2- have smirk in your face 3-talk with confidence if you do these steps congratulations you will get the job you want!!
Thnx verey much I think try to relax a bit & build up some confidence Body language & hand shake r vital in creating the right impression Finally smile from time to time 👊
Body lenguage and a sincere smile if is the case of the situation, never to forget about looking threw the eyes of the person in front of you, my very humble opinion
Once we did not hire somebody based on personal impression. He went on to work for our major client. Needless to say we had very hard times ahead. I found it ironic, but yes he was a good expert in the field.
Brian, Thank You for making these videos. Excellent stuff! I feel eye contact and handshakes are a forthright and direct way of introducing our authentic best energy when meeting someone for the first time. When more casual; posture, body language and vocal tone play large roles in how we are perceived initially.
EF Class B21: we think that intangible help for good first impression. Moreover, we believe that reputation plays an important role in the first few seconds. Last but not least, one's instincts!
Your supervisor will hate you along with anyone below your position , there will always be favoratisim always .. my advice is to get to know the main boss and show them your strenght.
yes i totally agree but my question is what are the best phrases to use to give an impression more strongly because i have come across situations where people give a very good impression but they lack in communication skills and there first impressions kills instantly.
How to make people love you? Is it about personality or the way you interact with them or maybe they're evil people so that why we don't get along with one another!?
I was hopeful he'd review the other aspects (pathos and logos). Not just ethos. Disappointing to say the least. Also his appearance has changed drastically. He doesn't look natural at all. He never blinks or moves his eyes. It's like watching a Walt Disney World puppet come to life. Or, an embalmed corpse come to life. Doesn't look or move naturally at all.
Speaking loudly and clearly. Everyone tells me that I talk as if I am whispering. This usually reduces my influence in the conversation. Thank you so much for sharing this video.
Body language - Turn completely to the person and showing genuine interest towards the person, smile and eyecontact

I have a question. what I need to do to be better than u?

Hello Brian, and what about the first talk? does it count as a 1st impression?
Of course. When you open your mouth, you tell the world who you are👍
Greets the person as if he/she the most important person for you in that moment.
How to make good impression on Skype or in a video based conversation?
i believe shoes too influence people!! m i correct?
Take action. Take action now.
I'm not going to allow people to abuse me anymore.
Body language!
Dress is very important, what about the way we talk?
Tone of voice

He never blinks or moves his eyes. It's like watching a Walt Disney World puppet come to life. Or, an embalmed corpse come to life. Doesn't look or move naturally at all.
It looks like he's had a problem with eyelids -- he's just getting old -- it can be quite depressing to "get old"...
Ethos-credibility, Pathos, Logos.....haven’t explained the Pathos and Logos....Thanks though!
Don't listen to him. Fashion trends change. Style is always in. If you want a consultation of image improvement please leave your email address.
