Ah, so a BMW Z4 is prounounced Zed 4. I have always said Zee 4. I also have a Nikon camera that I always pronounced nigh-con. The I went to its country of origin, Japan, and found out it is really nee-con.

The letter Z is pronounced "zee" in American English, and "zed" in British English. So Zee-4 is technically correct for Americans.

OIC! Then can you explain petrol, bonnet, hood, gudgeon pin, carburettor and aluminium to me? I'm all mixed up! PS, I'm glad you explained zed to me. That explains the puzzled look on my BMW service rep's face when I told him the correct pronunciation of the Z4 was zed four. LOL
