Here's a typical example of young women speaking this way: ruclips.net/video/Tj4EIGje4dA/видео.html
In the words he hey is very easy _ but _ From the English writings are difficult for me
Please correct me if I am wrong but sometimes uptalk is a must just before a comma. What about this sentence...
" As long as he comes back from his trip on time, he will go to the meeting."
After the word "time" I personally would add an up-intonation just to indicate that I will add more information.
English is not my mother tongue though.
American or British accent
stephen tang,
The second choice, (#2), is correct . . . without any of the Commas to be sure that it was punctuated correctly when the sentence was written rather than spoken. Commas shouldn't be used in writing to indicate pauses when speaking.
@@tahirsaeed4147 she speaks American English, of course!
It’s the best English class ever at this moment.
Omg. I cannot imagine how many times i have been uptalking. Never realised it has a significant impact. Daym.
j00Ls j. .. same here 😂
I didn’t even know there was such a thing as “uptalk.” I’m not a native speaker though. Thank you for the information 👍🏼

Same here!! I am from Perú, living in the USA since 1996.
I didn’t know it existed either…
In my native language it’s a natural feature.
Wow, you sound so clear! I understood everything you said. I'm not a native speaker and sometimes when some people talk I can't understand at all, so hearing you was blessing. Subscribed!
Nataly Don't feel bad, a lot of people mumble and are difficult to understand.

I'm also not a native speaker, and I also get the trouble like you. But my thought a little different. You know, many others speak English over the world like Korea, Singapore, India and so on. We learn English to communicate with many people on the world, not just UK or US, so I always try to listen and understand many people speaking English from many countries, I think that is better than just listen the standard English. But I also learn the way to speak English accurated. Thank you all for reading my comment!

While seeing many of her videos, i realized how Ms. Mojsin is not only an English teacher, she really works for her students, not just to master the language itself plainly, but actually work on the entire universe of communication, giving capabilities of one powerful gift that is human communication.
One thing I am getting clear is that among varied factors influencing a good language, the concept of Intonation plays a key function in deciding our effective communication and maintaining good relationship. It's more of psychological in nature, as the right awareness on intonation enables our understandings to identify the emotions displayed by the speakers. Maybe, Intonation is a true reflection of one's mental state. As rightly said by the teacher, we need to be careful whom we imitate. I do make a note of it Ma'am and I am immensely thankful to the Teacher for the worthy training. Great. (Ravi)
Oh my god! I struggled so much with my falling Russian intonation that I switched to uptalk without noticing it myself. Now I need to retrain. Lisa, thank you very much. I cannot thank you enough.

Hey I didn't even know intonation plays such an pivotal role in speaking English with intelligent and authority. It's sort of creating perception and understanding that intonation is really important. Thank you Lisa for highlighting this. 😊👍

This is the average American English accent while normally spoken by youngsters and uneducated, nonprofessional, or immature people. It'll be proper or not depending on the social status you belong to or the academic or working settings you have to get involved in.
Dearest teacher. You are admirable! Thank you
Omg you are becoming the best i've ever had with every single video you post. Simply 'thank you so much'.

Let me tell you guys a very authoritative perspective from my learning and teaching experience since I’m an English Language lecturer in China. I had been to Tennessee and Massachusetts studying and working. I noticed significantly that the Bostonians and ppl in Massachusetts are a whole lot more uptalker than Tennesseans ! Ppl in Boston especially girls and women sometimes even men use a lot of rising tones after each PERIOD ! This seemed to be a fashion! And ppl regard it as natural and sweet and graceful, oh my God! As a non-native speaker of the English language I was shocked! But my ability of acquiring a new accent is soooooo strong, extraordinarily strong, I myself now has a Bostonian accent!
Marvellous! I have no word to say, and just following your channel to change my bad habit and wrong method!!!!
Thanks
For your sincerely hard work
Thanks for pointing out UPTALK ....after watching daily soaps......I thought that talking UPTALK was great....and I was practicing for last few days.....you have saved me from getting into a bad habit. Thanks again.

I learn lots from your video, I would pay attention to my intenation as to avoid uptalk, thanks
I am not from native speaker but I can absolutely understand you well and I can see the difference between English intonation when some is telling or asking people to sound professional and intelligent.
Thanks for your clear and concise explanation, wasn't aware about Uptalk before.
I can only imagine how I must have communicated all these years.
I'll pay attention next time when I'm speaking.
Very interesting!
Thanks so much
Leaning English with you, also means improving oneself in other areas. Thank you.
Wow.. I never know this. Thank you!
I loved it. Thank you so much!
My smart teacher . I commented before watching as I know it will be great 😃
Thank you for posting this video. I'm glad I found your channel! "Uptalking" is prevalent right now and very distracting. When someone is giving a statement that sounds like a question, well, it's so annoying to hear! Just watch Brie Larson's interview on Wired here on youtube. That's an example of extreme uptalking.
You are a real gem,an excellent teacher
Thank you for this lesson!
