Raphael Varane announces Man United departure in emotional message to fans

- Raphael Varane has confirmed he will leave Manchester United this summer.
The legendary defender, who joined the club from Real Madrid, will depart following three seasons at Old Trafford.
He shared an emotional message with fans on social media as the decision was announced on Tuesday 14 May.
“It has been an amazing few years to play for this special club and wear that shirt,” Varane said.
“I fell in love with the club, with the fans.”
Varane made 93 appearances for Man United and helped guide them to success in the Carabao Cup last season.

I like Verane very humble and was cut short due to injuries. I think Dea Hea was never treated this way so said!!! But respect to Verane for his time at Utd and the best in what ever he goes on to do.
even though he get injured alot he is and always will be one of best center backs in time he was a true beast at real madrid.

He’s too expensive to keep. We need the cut in wages. Besides we don’t have Champions League football and he is 30. This team needs a spine: strong CB partnership and a 2x CM like how they were set up under Fergie. And a top no 10 and no 9. That team will be a marvel to watch. I don’t know the good CBs anymore but we need to get at least 3 and they have to be complimentary and we need to get a holding CM and maybe 2 utility players who can play in multiple positions.

Other than being an injury prone, he always stepped up during these hard times. A true professional that gives his heart for the shirt. But he deserves better than this shitshow so i hope he finds a good home wherever he goes next.

A good professional, but hardly a United legend. Sadly Varane, like Casemiro, serves as evidence of United's atrocious recruitment policy. Great players past their peak to be one of endless stop-gap solutions with a priority on selling shirts over having a cohesive footballing project.
Casemiro was still in his prime when he left Madrid.
