Not too many g30 540i detailed videos out there. Thanks for sharing. Your definitely going to help me out a lot. Looking forward to seeing the intake resonator delete. Haven’t seen it done yet for the 540i.
Thanks for sharing the install! I own a 2017 BMW 540i m sport. Trying to figure out how to get rid of the closed valve on the passenger side exhaust to improve the sound. Would love to see some content from you on that!
don't bother with any fancy mods to get the valve open, go to the exhaust where the valve is, with a pair of pliers pull out the horseshoe metal clip that links the valve to the valve actuator, being an aircraft tech I had safety wire handy and just used that through the slot on the exterior of the valve where it linked to the actuator to hold it open but you could use just about anything to hold it open. this procedure took me less than 5 mins and cost nothing, valve is now always open.
Yes, while it is not as loud as an upgraded sport exhaust, it is noticeably louder and sounds pretty good to me, especially for a $0 upgrade. I also have the BMS intake which compliments the sound.
Do some more vids on the 540i. Maybe some more ways to get it to be louder without going full exhaust system. I have mine and its an amazing car but its soo quiet
Installed the intake few days ago, but removed the stock cover , so it’s just the intake itself . I have a 2021 530i. Is it suggested to leave the bottom stock cover on or will the vehicle be fine with just the intake alone?
hey bro nice car, i need some advice, what do you recommend doing to a 2017 540i to make it faster, does it affect the reliability, and could i reverse it if it goes wrong?
hey i just instaleed the intake after watching the video but i am getting an error code: 102A58- hot film air mass meter, intake air temperature, signal: short circut to B+ or line disconnection. do you know what the problem could be?

Click the link in my description and it will take you to their website, from there you should be able to see what model this will fit. If this exact one doesn’t fit I’m pretty sure they have one that does
it should. the way he did it he didnt get an intake pipe from the turbo. just removed the box and added the maf sensor housing and the billet. so it would fit the same way.
i just did mine _530i_ same year. But i changed out the whole pipe coming out of the turbo---->3ply coupler---->Maf sensor housing---->3ply coupler--->billet
It’s a certified used BMW so I’m not worried about things breaking. Usually the weak spots on these are axles and transfer cases if you have a lot of power and you’re launching it a lot.
@@LowBoostFilms I'm hoping to mod my G35 and run the intake from the grill like the HR motors do, that way I get better airflow and hopefully sounds better to.

Yea! There’s an option you can tune that out if you have a JB4. I will be doing one on that soon.

I definitely will. I’m gonna look at some high flow Cats soon. Stay tuned
Would a inlet help ?
Not really, these are pretty efficient with the Air to water ic
Nice video, hey were did you get your digital dash display? Looks awesome!
That’s a standard option on the 2017 5 series!
Where did you get the mounting bracket? The one i got was a solid piece
It came in the kit. Yours was solid? That’s strange
Installed the intake few days ago, but removed the stock cover , so it’s just the intake itself . I have a 2021 530i. Is it suggested to leave the bottom stock cover on or will the vehicle be fine with just the intake alone?
The bottom cover helps it from the elements, it won’t gain or lose power if you take it off.
hey bro nice car, i need some advice, what do you recommend doing to a 2017 540i to make it faster, does it affect the reliability, and could i reverse it if it goes wrong?
Reliability won’t suffer with just the bolt ons. Intake, tune, Downpipe, and some ethanol and it’ll be much faster and keep its reliability
@@LowBoostFilms thanks bro will this affect the warranty?
@@r.f464 yes it will
Can you please do more on these I don’t know what my next mod should be
Yes I will!
hey i just instaleed the intake after watching the video but i am getting an error code: 102A58- hot film air mass meter, intake air temperature, signal: short circut to B+ or line disconnection. do you know what the problem could be?
Did you remove the bottom of the air box? You almost might have a connection not put on all the way
can you hear the turbo flutter from the cabin?
Yea you can!
Did it cause your check engine light to turn on? I just ordered it for my 2019 540i but i can’t tune it because It would void my current warranty.
No check engine light. And a JB4 tune is a lot harder to prove so it’s less likely the warranty will void.
Is it just the intake thatbypu changed? or do i have to change the pipe connecting to it too?
Just that pipe
@@LowBoostFilms I can install the intake at the stock pipe or no?

Sometimes a small flathead screwdriver gets the clip out easier
One last thing I’m freaking out!!! I dropped one of the screws thats oem thats from the oem filter box. Should I be worried
Where did you drop it? Into the intake? Or into the engine bay, if you’re missing one it’s not a big deal
@@LowBoostFilms I never was able to get the the oem box filter off it just fell somewhere around it but not into the intake itself
There’s definitely a screw you are missing as to why it’s not coming off. As long as it doesn’t fall into the intake it’s fine
Do you have to remove battery
Nah. No need.
Does it brake down much?

does this fit on the G12 740i as well? the oem intake system looks the same
I’d confirm with burger Motorsports but I think so.
Any body install an intake to 530e ? Just wondering
It can’t be much different than this install
Might look a little bit deeper into this and get one for my hybrid :D
Great video btw 👍🏻🔥
Are you in uk?
USA
I just bought a 2019
Oh nice! We love it. I love the way it drives, big enough for all 4 of us.
This car has a blow off valve?
All turbo cars do. But this one recirculates back into the intake, so it’s not as loud.
Sounds great under the hood lol
Yeah I love it. It’s definitely quieter in the car but the more I drive it I feel like I can hear it better so maybe the filter has to break in
