      It's the comradery, duty, & honor of all soldiers, who follow the Warrior's Path.
      It is the path few civilians will understand, & even far less, will even take up its yoke.
      To die well for one another in combat, that one's nation's peoples, customs, way of life, safety, & security, their is no greater sacrfice of love. It is perhaps love, in its truest form incarnate.
      Unfortunately it is far to easily used, abused, & forgotten, by those who would be, usurpers, & cowards, in their selfish arrogance, & narcissism.
      One needs only to look at humanity's bloody history. Reguardless of it's many cultures, ALL peoples are guilty of this attrition. Especially those, who would turn their backs upon history, for present comfort.

      And, several Jedi and Republic officers treated their Clones pretty well and actually cared for them, so it really wasn't all that bad for the Clones, at least the ones that got put under the command of a good or kind leader, for those that ended up with people like Krell and Tarkin well there lives pretty much sucked and were slavery in every definition of the word.

      @@cancelanime1507 Yeah, I know a lot of Jedi did, but I didn't know the exact number so I just said several to cover my bases. Personally, I've always felt it was about 50:50, maybe 60:40 in terms of the good treating Clone Jedi compared to the bad, but that's just my own personal estimate.

    • @ianp2410
      @ianp2410 4 года назад +35

      ZexalBrony479 actually most Jedi, while they weren’t exactly mean or cruel to their subordinates, as per the Jedi code they tried to emotionally distance themselves from them. And a lot of them simply viewed the clones as organic droids. It’s part of why so many clones enjoyed gunning down their generals in Order 66. The majority of the Jedi generals were not like anakin or plo koon. In addition to this most of them were really incompetent military leaders as well which bred resentment among those that served under them. The thing is in the Clone Wars tv show we don’t often see this side of it which is why the misconception of the Jedi being kind and caring commanders is so common.

    Actually, most of these clones were probably recognized as martyrs by the Republic media. And after the Clone Wars, Emperor Palpatine spoke of these men as if they were heroes during the rise of the New Order. He spoke about how many of these brave men have died bringing order to the galaxy. He stated that the people of the Empire would do well to remember and follow in their example. So these clone units were not forgotten: Palpatine merely made them into Imperial saints, holding them up as examples for the Empire's citizens and soldiers to follow. At least in Legends, that is.
    Also, much of the literature that paints the Jedi as being careless with their clones comes from Karen Traviss, an author who hated the Jedi. Which was why Lucas retconned her works in the Clone Wars show, because she portrayed the Jedi as heartless savages, when in reality, the Jedi were self-sacrificing lemmings who even acted as bullet sponges for their clone armies. So that shit about Commandos dying like flies on Geonosis is something I don't count. Most likely, the commando units Mace was given were the troops that won the first Battle of Geonosis on the classic Battlefront 1, nowhere near the massacre that Traviss proclaimed it was.

    • @tomoyukisaito5275
      @tomoyukisaito5275 2 года назад +1

      Actually the first battle of Geonosis was actually that bad for the clone commandos as it was that bad for every single clone unit. Most of not all Clone Forces that were on the battlefield at that time (which was pretty much all of them) were cut to bare minimum 50% of their total force. Every squad Battalion Unit and Army was basically Thanos Snapped including the Commandos which like is said in the video was because they were simply made to charge the enemy. Some units like those in the Battlefield 1 game faired a bit better but commandos are meant for infiltration sneaky missions in a sense. They are sent out in 4,5 men teams deep into enemy territory taught to be quiet sneaky and to basically handle being out numbered...but they weren't doing any of that. They werent being used the way they were literally breed for instead they were tossed in with the rest of the basic grunts treated like a basic grunt and sent out to charge the enemy and die like a basic grunt.

    You forgot about Jedi Knight Jor Drakas' forces in Sarapin. Weeks after the First Battle of Geonosis, a Chiss Sith Warrior fighting under the banner of the Confederacy named Sev'rance Tann invaded the core world Sarapin, which provided core worlds like Coruscant with a huge chunk of its power. Sev'rance and her forces penetrated the orbital defense grid, annihilating its Clone defenders and torpedo batteries with Confederate warships and Geonosian starfighters. She then invaded the planet surface using Decimator tanks that she stole from the Republic in a previous mission. Sev'rance and her forces annihilated the clone legion on the planet and killed Jor Drakas in single combat at the Citadel in Mt. Corvast. This caused a massive shutdown of power in core worlds like Coruscant, and riots exploded on the streets. Sev'rance Tann's campaign dealt a severe blow to the Republic mere weeks after the war started, and this was after she destroyed two more clone units: one on Eredenn Prime, and another one on Tatooine. Together, Sev'rance destroyed three clone units, mere weeks after the war began. Now that's what you call efficiency. Had she survived and fought the later stages of the Clone Wars, I'm certain that even General Grievous would be taking orders from her, and Sev'rance would be Dooku's top general, not Grievous.
    In the end, the Republic sent Jedi General Echuu Shen-Jon against Sev'rance Tann, mostly because Sev'rance killed Echuu's Padawan at the Battle of Geonosis and the Jedi Council hoped to use Echuu's desire for revenge as a weapon. It worked, and Echuu was able to retake Sarapin for the Republic and eventually defeat Sev'rance Tann on Krant, but not before she kidnapped Echuu's second padawan and nearly brought him over to the Dark Side. Echuu then scrambled his clone unit to save his second Padawan, and when Mace Windu questioned his actions, Shen-Jon questioned Windu about how the latter sacrificed legions of Clones and Jedi on Geonosis to save Obi-Wan and Anakin. Echuu killed Sev'rance in single combat, but the damage was done, and Echuu was consumed by the Dark Side. He exiled himself on the planet Krant, and he would not surface until the days of the Galactic Civil War.

    I think Irony is often war is the soldiers the soldiers who fought the hardest and contributed the most that often become forgotten in history and Star Wars alike. We often remember key turning points in a war but often such battles are very quick decisive and even one sided at times. The soldiers that happen to be at the right place at the right often get remembered and immortalized in history for decades to come. Yet such battles may only last a few days and weeks even at the very most.
    Yet I think we often forget the perils of war in itself. We forget to that getting to such turning points in a war may have been a long and brutal struggle to get there. As there could have been many months or years of bloodshed and stalemate where neither side can achieve ultimate victory and entire armies on both sides are decimated to nothing. It those battles the really test their resolve and why it is worth fighting for a cause they believe in regardless of what it is about.
    I can see why Clone Trooper Veterans don't talk about their brothers being slaughtered on the battlefield it brings back too many terrible memories that they do not wish to be consumed by or be consumed by their PTSD. As for the politicians and some military commanders they see soldiers as expendable and replaceable just another static or cannon fodder waiting to happen. Other politicians do not wish to disclose information to the public on such massacres for fear of humiliation and lack of voter confidence in them.
    However the import thing it to reminder the fallen and our history even the citizens of star wars to reminder the price and the toll it takes for freedom in the galaxy. That is Why Allen I think you for being one the important curators of Star Wars Clone Wars era history and Star Wars history in general.
    If their are any surviving Clone Veterans out there they are not only remembering their fallen brothers from the past but they are also thank you for make their story heard and their forgotten battles pages of history so that they were will finally get the respect they deserve and the help they need.
    Remember clones troopers are people to and the Veterans need all the help and gratitude for service that they deserve. As for many of them they are going to have troubles seeking help and telling their story just like any veteran. So if you see a clone trooper veteran take a moment and thank them for their service.

    Wait didn’t the 13th Battalion still have units on Buracco? And he said that the MAJORITY of the clones were killed so some survived. And then probably slowly died out cause of aging.

    Plokun (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) was out gunned and had no way to stop the destruction of his fleet. In my opinion plokun did deserve to be on here.

    Could’ve mentioned the Outer Rim Garrison, led by Captain Keeli and Jedi General Ima-Gun Di. All were killed in the early campaign on Ryloth as they held the line against the advancing Seperatists in order to let the Twi’lek Resistance led by Cham Syndulla escape

    Honorable mention to Domino Squad, made up of the 5 Clone brothers Fives, Echo, Heavy, Cutup, and Droidbait. Their first mission was meant to be easy, man a listening post and watch out for Separatists, but Grievous was on the march. Commando Droids infiltrated the base, cutting down Droidbait, and forcing the Dominos to flee. Not catching a break, the Dominos are then attacked by a giant worm, Cutup being swallowed, before the rest were rescued by Rex and Cody. Retaking the listening post, they realize that Grievous had already moved his forces into position and locked down communication with the Republic, leaving the Dominos the only option to blow up the listening post to alert the Republic, but due to a malfunction with the bomb trigger, Heavy had to detonate the bomb manually.
    The Republic won the battle, but the damage would be felt long after for Clones.

    I’m that guy who’d chose the random nameless clone troopers life over any Jedi. I guess I just share Jango’s hate of the Jedi slavers
