    A testament to the power of youth. Shaves 5 years off my miserable middle-age whenever I hear the song. Springsteen has had an astonishing career. Anthems like this, thoughtful ballads and folk tunes about real life and real love. Never lost touch with his working-class roots no matter how much money he made. He will not be replaced.

    Bruce and the E street Band ALWAYS put on a great show. Their energy is constant, which transfers to the audience, and it is normal for them to play for 3 hours straight. Bruce considers playing onstage to be like his "therapy".

      I agree! Whaddya expect at 74 and recently ill. He burns on two cylinders, but I was stoked how good it was in Seattle. I'm lucky at $800 for nosebleeds that a pal treated me. We had gone to at least 40 shows together over the years.

    It's always hard for me to believe this was 1975; Bruce was so ahead of his time. It took the music world 12 years to catch up to this. The whole album is the Mona Lisa of music and you could pick any song off of it to react to and be happy. Genius.

    I have seen Bruce live in concert 105 times, including 5 times this past April. I have tickets for 4 more shows at the end of the summer to bring my total to 109. Bruce by far, is the best live performer in the history of music. He routinely did 4 hour concerts up to the age of 66. Now at 73, he only plays for THREE hours! I took a lot of videos from the shows in April and put them on my youtube channel. Although he no longer runs across the stage and slides on his knees, or jumps on top of the piano, he is plenty energetic for his age. I hope he continues to play till he gets to be 100!

      I miss him going to the piano, and I really miss him coming out early in a t shirt and acoustic to take requests. ❤

    I'm seeing him for the 8th time in October and I am psyched. No one does concerts like Bruce. And if you want to rock out, try "Jungleland", "The Promised Land", "Born in the USA" , "10th Avenue Freeze Out", and even "Santa Claus is Coming to Town", if you want ballads, "Racin' in the Streets", "The River" or "Nebraska", for great music with a message, "The Rising", "Independence Day", or "Ghost of Tom Joad"

    Interestingly, he never had a number one hit song, although a couple of his songs were covered and went to number one. I was in High School when this Born To Run album came out, and it really "saved"' me. His lyrics can be really deep, like the song "Badlands" from the Darkness on the Edge of Town album. For a dorky kid who felt invisible, Bruce was a savior.

    Clarence "The Big Man" Clemons (saxophone) was an amazing talent. The E Street Band, had a global reputation as a top notch group. It would be worth your time looking into who they are, and where their paths led them. This was enjoyable to watch.

  • @flubblert
    @flubblert Год назад +10

    Now that we got your attention LOL.
    I saw him twice in Chicago in the 80s…once at an indoor venue, the second at a sold out Soldier Field. Both had the same intensity, energy and total crowd domination. Bruce puts on a Live show like no other. But you should also know he can go from high energy to dark and melodic and still manage to capture the same intensity. He is as charismatic a performer as you will EVER see. I still think you should check out the studio version of "Born to Run". Then check out "The River" and "Hungry Heart".
    Sooo much classic Springsteen to choose from. Tip of the iceberg.

    I became a Springsteen fan with his very first album “Greetings From Asbury Park”, followed by “The Wild The Innocent, And The E Street Shuffle”. Then came this masterpiece album “Born To Run”, and then “Darkness On The Edge Of Town”. In my opinion these first four albums came when Bruce was at the top of his game. If you haven’t heard what many consider to be Bruce’s “magnum opus”, then you need to listen to “Jungleland” from this same album.

    So I was born in 70 - knew couple of songs and then 'Born in the USA ' came out - dominated the charts (I'm not American BTW). Then I lost track - but rediscovered him with the Live at Hyde Park DVD (yes back in the day). Since then I've bought and looked up every concert throughout his career. I'm convinced his live shows are the best ever, With the 'E-street' band he's unstoppable, Lost a couple of members and also a period where he wasn't with them - but they're still doing live concerts today. And on average with over 3 hours per show and a catalogue of so many songs - they're the best live !!!
