Anthony Arillotta shared intricate details on the notorious Joe Massino, the first Mafia boss to cooperate with authorities. They are both right, Massino set up the whole story with the prosecutor but also found out who killed Pizzolo, the feds werent sure if it was a Bonanno or a Genovese hit. Massino played everyone, from Galante, 3 Capos, Bonventre to Sciascia, Basciano and the government.

Al Darco was the acting boss of the Lucchese family. He flipped in 1991. Massino, who flipped in 2005 is the first and only OFFICIAL Boss of any family to Cooperate w the Govt. He was Boss of the Bonnano officially from 1991 to 2005. Unofficially he was the boss since 1986

Natale THOUGHT he was the boss of Philly.... Merlino "let" him have the title of Boss, knowing that being known as Boss puts the bigger target on your back. Merlino was really running things, all the while stroking Natale's ego... Natale had been busted in the past for drug trafficking and even after he and Joey got released, he went right back to trafficking meth.. Joey along with others claimed that he never messed with drugs and didn't with Natale either

So he told Ralph that he would be Boss and Joey his underboss. This was 100% a strategic move. Merlino sized Natale up and recognized that Natale was just power hungry and wasn't Boss material. Everyone knew Joey really ran the family .

Vlad is one of worst interviewers when it comes to guys in the mafia because he doesn’t even know a basic history of it. Do some research on the guy you’re interviewing or other guys if you’re going to ask questions about them. Hav’e a knowledge base when you interview these guys.

@@HamiltonRb according to Al. Gaspipe and Vic used him as a messenger while on the lam, he had no boss abilities and once he tried calling shots on his own, they tried to clip him at the Kimberly Hotel, which I'm not to sure about myself.

Clearly this isn't true since Massino's cooperation allowed him to duck a prison sentence while being allowed to keep millions of dollars in properties. If he had nothing to offer then the feds wouldn't have given him such a sweet deal.
