- The first strategic missile-carrying airplane Tu-160M has made its maiden flight. The aircraft took off from the airfield of the Kazan aircraft plant "Rostec". The flight was performed at an altitude of 600 meters and lasted about 30 minutes. The crew of test pilots of PJSC "Tupolev" performed maneuvers, allowing to check the stability and controllability of the aircraft in the air. It is expected that the two missile-carrying Tu-160M will enter the long-range aviation in 2022.

This flight is special for two important things. 1-Tu-160 project is revived and well. One of the greatest planes produced by humans just got modernized to current standards. 2- It's all Russian. From radar to new engines, from rivets to plastic details. A self-dependent production chain of this level of complexity is awe inspiring.
I honestly thought that they at least would buy carbon fibres from Korea or Japan.

It’s not new coloring. The anti flash white paint hasn’t Been applied because it’s a test plane and likely has sensors all over its surface.

I think the reason is the U.S. doesn't believe that a close nuclear explosion is survivable, they think the dark grey camo is more useful.
But Russia goes from own experience, they tested the special white thermal deflector paint and it gives some plus protection.
It was first tested when they dropped the Tsar bomb around 1960, they painted a Tu-95 white.
Retrospective it probably saved the crew and the airplane.

I was always a big fan of Russia and their weaponry but now I just can't help but laugh when I see videos like this the correspondent especially on this channel liked to name Russia weapons as the best in the world and I even believed it but now I see them as nothing.
