Interesting anatomy and genetic information. I have had continuous tinnitus since 1982 and currently have several of the other conditions mentioned in this video. My ability to not focus on the tinnitus has improved significantly with hearing treatment and for that i am grateful.
Can it be caused by earbuds? About 2 and 1/2 months ago I got these earbuds that were wayy too loud at first but i got used to it over the past few weeks, but now its only loud in one ear and the same earbud is kinda quiet in my other ear. My ears also randomly hurt really bad sometimes when im at school or when im in public and they ring pretty often. ( if it sounds weird, its cuz one is broken)
If someone has good hearing as in no problems in actually being able to hear conversations, low and high noises and experiences virtually no issues with their hearing etc, and their true tone test also confirming good hearing, can that person still have conductive hearing loss? If yes how does that hearing loss manifest itself?
I'd love it if you or Dr. Cliff could do a full video about genetic causes of hearing loss! I have Maternally Inherited Diabetes and Deafness, and it causes progressive high-frequency hearing loss.
Healthy Lifestyle one night hearing perfectly normally at a meeting heard and understood every word that was person said. Before this I struggled to listen and missed 25 percent of words in the same venue for serval meetings before and whenever my hearing challenges began to frustrate my life. What were my circumstances on this day? Was it healthy mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, reduced stress, happiness, being in the now, etc... the variables could not be reenacted I am uncertain. Is this just my imagination or did I just have a wonderful day?
I just watched this video out of curiosity but I knew that my type of hearing loss would not be mentioned because it's not very common. My type of hearing loss is only one-sided and it's due to a tumor called an acoustic neuroma. It's a benign tumor. It also causes tinnitus. The hearing loss is progressive. It may lead to one sided deafness or it may not. I just recently had to receive radiation in order to stop the tumor from growing. And now I just have to wait and see if it worked.
My heart goes out to you. I just lost hearing in my left ear on February 15th due to SSHL. My life has been turned upside down, now trying Cross hearing aid. It helps a little but the buzzing never stops. Always hoping that tomorrow will be a better day. 😢
@@phyllispower91 I've already been to my audiologist and she tried out hearing aids and I wasn't a candidate. The hearing aid increase the distortion that I already had and made loud sounds much louder and that was a bit painful. So hopefully I won't lose any more hearing because I've already lost half of my hearing due to speech recognition. So if somebody's talking on my dad side I only hear half of what is being said. The rest gets lost or distorted. It can be extremely frustrating. Plus the tinnitus never goes away and it hasn't gotten back to normal yet since I've had the radiation. And that was only about a month ago. I need to get another MRI in August to re-evaluate the size of the tumor and then probably another 3 to 4 months after that to compare the two to make sure that it's not growing. The radiation causes the tumor to swell so the first MRI may show it a bit larger and there's no way to tell if it's growing or just swollen.
@marciwhitman3513 I tried heading aid ,didn't work like you said made everything louder. I'm trying cross hearing aids right now. Helps a little but the tinnitus never stops. I give anything to have my hearing back. My husband just ordered some drops that is supposed to help with tinnitus. You just put the drops in water and drink it. I know people say that there is no cure for it but I will try anyway. I will post if it helps and I wish you and anyone else that is going through this good luck and hopefully things get better. 🙏
Theres also a major factor that you’re missing,.. which is the fact having many ear infections can cause it too.. i have a mixed hearing loss due to that,..
Yes, im aware,.. im referring to the fact that inner ear infections can cause snhl when they occur constantly, but yes, she mentioned the fact that outer infections cause temporary conductive loss

So much about types of hearing loss and not a word about the remedy of difficult ones. Time goes by and so many people lose their hearing .
