Another timeless and perfect video by Auto Didakt. I love this channel because these videos have no expiration date. I just watched today again the video about the Mercedes W124 and the Quattroporte fifth generation video and I’m sure I can watch it 10 years from now and will not loose any of its glory. Well done and I’m glad channels like these exists. Thank you Christopher, Malte and the whole team at Auto Didakt.
I think during this time in Italy, showing ones wealth was wisely not blatant. I've always loved this design, as well ass the 400, 400A, and 412. All beautiful and truly elegant. I would like to see the 550 Maranello get the Auto Didakt treatment in the future. I'm very glad I've found your channel. It's informative, and has a dry sense of humor I really appreciate. Well done, and I'm a new subscriber. You've chosen some of my favorite cars to film already. I am looking forward to future videos.
I like the minimalist balanced design. Love the rear lights but then I'm biased as I drive an Alfa Brera. Midnight blue with crema interior is a classic combination. A timeless classic.
Thank you for another very high quality video. May I perhaps suggest the SAAB 900 Turbo or the Audi quattro (UR) for your next? If you fancy crossing the channel the late Jaguar XJS 4.0/6.0!
It took a while but it was worth waiting, having my best preferred Ferrari (512BB and GTO following) reviewed, one of the least obvious Ferraris ever. I suppose having been born in the golden era of the automotive also helps. Its exuberance lacking, simple lines combined with subtle detailing and gracious proportions might be a precursor of that modern concept, the silent luxury. Magnificent from every angle. Thank you AutoDidakt for this video. Classy as always.
Tolles Video über ein tolles Auto, gefilmt an einer nicht minder tollen Location (Frankfurt - Jahrhunderthalle)! Wo sind die Fahrsequenzen entstanden, Feldberg/Taunus?
An interesting perspective on an unusual design. I don't know if it was a regulatory thing but the fixed headlamps in the front rather ruin the front end for me. But the profile and rear 3/4 view are still quite striking
I’m with you - the trio lights and knock-off wheels, although gorgeous, didn’t fit with the sharper lines of the body. However, the door handles somehow did.
Fair enough. It's the 400's front spoiler and more massive-looking wheels that don't do the basic shape any favours - the rear lights are just different and don't spoil a thing. (Not even the 412's body-coloured bumpers or ruined boot outline would be good enough a reason for stoning, metaphorical or otherwise. It's car design we're dealing with here, rather than the fate of humanity.)
@AutoDidaktFilms The trio lights are definitely a cost saving measure, being generic units, as rear lights are prohibitively expensive to design and bring into production for low volume manufacturers. Completely concur on the other details you brought up on the 400 and 412. The trio lights don't do the simplicity of the 365 GTC, a car whose unassuming lines I love, but not the fussy rear view.
What I miss in the video is mention of Ferrari 365 GTC/4 ("il Gobbone"), which briefly preceded 365 GT4 2+2. From this very model comes the slightly modified engine with characteristic side mounted carburettors (Tipo F101, despite itself being development of Tipo 251 used in 365 GTB/4), the elongated chassis (despite itself being further development of the one used in 365 GT 2+2) and also the dasboard (where interestingly 365 GTC/4 completely avoided use of any wood decors to emphasize its overall modernity, but 365 GT4 2+2 has brought them back).
The links to the GTC/4 could have been pointed out, yes. But for the sake of clarity, the choice was made to focus on related designs by Fioravanti only in this instance. Sappino's GTC/4 would evidently be deserving of a dedicated video, at some point.
I won't say it is a beautiful car, but it is an interesting one, and one I'd rather would have attributed to Bertone than to Pininfarina. It has great proportions, a lovely interior and the stylistic juxtapositions are not ridiculously radical as the very recent Jag Zero Zero is compared to its predecessors.... It is different and yet fits perfectly in the Ferrari stable.
This wonderful example should have been flatted off, wet sanded and polished after its respray; so much orange peel visible! Ferrari had them painted immaculately. Other than that, it’s a wonderful film. Thank you 😊
Yes, it's hard not to notice the orange peel. Other than that it's lovely.

Thanks for your attention and kind words.
I know a lot of people don’t like this car, but for me, it is the most beautiful and desirable car they ever made
Yeah, its just soooo f’ing cool. Utterly timeless gorgeousness.
Yes from a time when Ferraris were beautiful, elegant and tasteful, unlike today's somewhat vulgar offerings IMHO
I wouldn't say it's the most beautiful, but it is stunning

Thank you. Time, logistics and availability of cars are limiting factors, but we have every intention of going into '25, full steam ahead.

thank you.
Another fantastic video of one of my favourite Ferrari’s. Thank you.

Exakt.
Nicely put!
Great video as always, Cristopher. I would have liked a bit of V12, to be honest 😉
Fair enough.
Been a while yes a new video
Perfection, as always!

Amazing video on an excellent gran turismo Ferrari ❤
Perfect video!
Don't stone me, but I like the twin rear lights of the 400 a bit more. Still together with the 250 GTE 2+2, and the 456 my favourite Ferrari.

@@marcusott2973 Any shared component is the result of cost saving measures.
The crucial aspect being whether they grate or cohere.
@AutoDidaktFilms MG RV8. The beautiful taillights cost far more than the redesign of the chassis.
Definitely to the detriment of the whole project.
