I wish there were more teams that had independent identities when it came to logo/colors. The ones that do stand out alot and look great while doing it.
As a Seattle fan, you should try to get a Coachella Firebirds (our new AHL affiliate) jersey when it becomes available.
The Grand Rapids Griffins jersey with the wings on the shoulders was a grail of mine forever and I finally found one at a thrift store for like $30

I was able to get a black out Phantoms jersey at the end of last season. Those jerseys are beautiful 😍. That being said, that first Wilkes-Barre Jersey you showed is awesome.
I love how some ahl affiliates have remained w the same nhl club for years and others seem to change every few years
A Wolfpack is what they used to call a group of Kreigsmarine U boats. The name does make sense.
You might want to wait on the other IceHogs jersey. They just updated their logo, so there will probably be ample stock available in both colors with the new one coming soon. And, probably some of the old ones on closeout or at their annual summer garage sale. The new log still has the pig, but no hockey stick or cartoonish lettering. All the blue is gone, as well. It's a little bit boring compared to the old one, but still a pretty good logo. In the meantime, I recommend their gray thirds, if you can find one. They're really nice for something that's gray. I wish their parent team would adopt them for thirds, as well.
I loved the Albany River Rats jersies from the 90's 2000's back when they were the AHL affiliate of the NJ Devils.
This was a fun video. I love looking at minor league jersey's, be they MLB or NHL. That brown Hershy Bears jersey might be my new favorite.
Really enjoyed seeing a lot of excellent logos/jerseys that I've not seen before. Right at the end, the St. John's IceCaps jersey reminded me of the Raleigh IceCaps ECHL team from the '90s. I think every ticket to Dorton Arena (5,400 capacity) was $7, parking was free, and bottles of Labatt Blue were $2!
The Chicago Wolves absolutely have one of the best third jerseys in the AHL, I love the gray jerseys SO much. Speaking of third jerseys, I would LOVE to see Utica bring back the third jersey you showed here when talking about the Canucks, I think that would look amazing in Devils colors!!
Also, I hope you're able to get a Firebirds jersey! The dark blue and bright orange just fits so well, I can't wait to watch them this season

From ECHL I've always loved the name & design (logo) of Solar Bears. Just awesome.
There's an interesting story around how the Gulls got their name back. When they folded in 2006, there was a "Junior Gulls" team in the area. When they came back, there was a bit of an issue about it. But to be quite honest, if the team wasn't called the Gulls, and didn't have the traditional black, white, blue, and orange, I don't think they would have had such a huge turnout early on.
The lighter blue jerseys with the wordmark are an homage to the original Gulls of the 60's and 70's. Willy O'Ree played for them, and when he was honored a few years back they wore these jerseys. They're a huge hit, and I just got one for Christmas actually! Can't wait to wear it to the Calgary Wranglers v. Gulls games in March. (Yes, I'm from San Diego and moved to Calgary . . .)

I actually think the Eagles' ECHL jerseys, the ones based on the Rockies, were _way_ better than their AHL jerseys currently are. Kinda wish we'd see those come back.
Thanks for this, Shannon. The only area I'll disagree is, I like having the NHL logo on the AHL Jersey. This goes back to when the Blues had the Chicago Wolves as their affiliate and the Wolves, typically, barely acknowledge that they develop players for the NHL. I wanted so much for the Blues to get an AHL team that was proud of their affiliation. They had that subsequently in San Antonio and now in Springfield. I'm also glad you are doing some AHL videos this year. They have such a rich history that needs to get some exposure. The teams in Hershey and Rochester are an example of that. Finally, any team that features the iconic Johnny Canuck is aces with me. I wish Vancouver would feature him as their primary logo. My preference, in order is Johnny Canuck, Stick in the Rink, the flying skate, and a distant last, is the Orca whale.
I've long had an opinion that the Canucks won't win a Cup until they go with Johnny as the main logo.
I’m from Hartford, I love the logo for the Wolfpack. I just thought their old jerseys were better than the ones they have now. The old ones are so fresh

I miss the Manchester Monarchs being a thing (they were the Kings' affiliate before they got moved to Cali. Had been in Manchester, NH)
Manitoba was Vancouver’s affiliate when they had their old ones. That’s why they changed it.
My first hockey game was a 48 save shutout from Corey Crawford when he was still with the Rockford Icehogs. (wanna say 2006?) Made me an even bigger fan seeing Crawford in his early career. Would be cool to find a Crawford Icehogs jersey.
Edit: It does feel like you're right about the Chicago Wolves bouncing around as an affiliate. Any idea why that is?

The Monsters also have blue and white CBJ-style jerseys as well. The crest is a capital C with the monster underneath it.
New Springfield 3rd jersey coming this season also you should look into the what if Springfield Isotopes jerseys and this past season's military tribute. Pretty sweet.

There's a $380+ game-worn Pierre-Marc Bouchard Sound Tigers jersey from the pink ribbon night in Nov 2013 w/CoA that I saw online today, and which is the most unique game-worn special cause game garment I've ever seen. Hot pink and white stripes on deep blue/violet & the tiger head logo. The thing even has faint pink ribbons on the white of the name & numbers. 🤯

I'm pleasently surprised you had all 3 Chicago Wolves jerseys. The Burgundy is a fan jersey from Starter back in the IHL days and is lacking the white outline that usually is on game jerseys. Yea the last decade has been a lot of turnover. We had Atlanta Thrashers from 2001 to 2011 when they became the Jets. Then the affiliate turnstile began. First with Vancouver then St. Louis being Blackhawk rivals which happened because of necessity. Back with Don Waddell in Carolina who was running the Thrashers during our affiliation we may be with them for a while OR until Don is shown the door

I may be biased, but Utica has some of the most awesome specialty jerseys in the AHL!
- Save of the Day is the best, because when it gets dark, the jerseys look like they're glowing.
- Last year's Roaring '20s jersey was awesome, because it was modeled after the local brew, Utica Club (brewed down the street). Cream colored Jersey, with "Utica Comets" wordmark in Utica Club font.
- Their Military Night jerseys combined the Save of the Day logo with a camo jersey and it popped beautifully.
- Their Clinton Comets jersey (which was another wordmark) looked like it came right out of the '50s.
- When they were with the Canucks, they did a "flying skate" logo as well, which looked really good.
Utica does such a great job with specialty jerseys, and man, I wish I could put pictures on here, because my descriptions do not do them justice. They're all awesome! 🙂

Love the collection of your American League Jerseys, I only have one so far and it's a Hershey Bears Jersey from the 90s! There's three jerseys I've been in the hunt for: Philadelphia Phantoms Purple, Saint John Flames and Fredericton Express. The Maritimes used to have so much American League teams in the 80s and 90s it's a shame that there isn't any now
Back when I was going to AHL games the Fredericton team were the Canadiens. As for purple Phantoms jerseys, I just saw a couple on ebay.
@@Rockhound6165 Oh yes the Fredericton Canadiens were a great team during the 90s! Lots of future NHL players got a start there like Darcy Tucker, Craig Rivet, Jose Theodore and Tomas Vokoun. The Express was Vancouver and Quebec's shared farm team in the early to late 80s

Hey Shannon, do you have any suggestions on how to get an old-style Moose jersey like yours (the black one specifically)? I've been looking for a little while and haven't found much. I agree with you, the old colours look much better. The current logo looks like a washed out version of the old one.
Went to a few Aeros games, really enjoyed them. Not sure if Houston is willing to support a NHL team but would be cool to have AHL team back.

I recently went to a Hershey bears hockey game and I was able to get their home jersey then for an extra $40 get it customized with my last name an number. Is the grand total ( original jersey price + extra to customize it ) justifiable? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I'm sorry you don't have the Phantoms jersey when they were in Philadelphia. The purple "road" jersey(at the time) is one of the best looking jerseys out there with their former mascot Phlex on the shoulders. Also, back when the Phantoms were still playing in Philly in the late 90's, me, my brother, and our respective girlfriends used to go a lot. Some of the extinct team jerseys I loved were: Kentucky Thouroughblades, Baltimore Bandits, Carolina Monarchs, Hamilton Bulldogs, Syracuse Crunch, Albany River Rats and the Worcester IceCats had cool looking jerseys. The Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies of the ECHL had neat jerseys too. And do you not have a Laval Rockets jersey yet? If you did I must have missed it.
