He eventually became born again, he left Kansas, and formed a Christian band called A.D. He is still a Christian to this day.
A little testimony here: My oldest sister brought this song to the hospital and played it for me after I was viciously attacked and left for dead. When I woke up my family was there and I had her put it on repeat because it brought me so much peace and comfort. Been following Mercy Me since. About 10 years ago or so I heard a song on the radio called “humble yourself as a child” I actually thought it was a new James Taylor release. The name of the artist is Jim Cole song is “humble yourself as a child“ check it out absolutely fantastic.

I'm not a Christian, and I don't take anything out of the song from that angle, but as a song within itself, it's extremely well structured and performed. The changes are subtle but pronounced. Good 8 out of 10 for me.
