  • In this video I discuss the affects of speed power and air flow and how they if you just change air flow to your engravings how much it can change you look and reduce the contamination on your material. We cover birch plywood, cast and extruded acrylic and 2 color plastic sign material.
    Wood results start at 2:55
    Acrylic results start at 10:40
    2 color Rowmark sign material 16:10
    All engraving was done on a Nova 35-100 watt co2 laser
    You will always want enough air flow to keep your focus lens cool. NEVER turn off your air flow compleatly! You will ruin your focus lens!
    I purchased the digital gauge from smc pneumatics model number SMC ISE30A-01-N-L

    Very helpful. Do you have a video that shows how you clean up an engraving when there is residue?

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад +1

      too much air flow is what generates allot of residue. make sure your using Minamal air flow when engraving. a quick sanding with 220 grit sand paper is the best. whipping it down with moistened rags or towns lifts the grain of the wood and makes it rough and then you have to sand anyway. skip the step of wiping and just sand.

    Just came across this video, Curious about the digital pressure gauge. Do you have an installation video for this gauge? I'm assuming that you cut a hole in the machine next to the air assist, then just hooked up power and ground (12VDC?), then an air line to the gauge?

    I'm sorry I'm a little confused. You mentioned air assistance was off but you are using air pressure. I'm 100% new at this so I'm guessing this is a silly question but I thought air assistance was air pressure? I was amazed by the differences you showed! So very helpful 👍

    • @computercreationz
      @computercreationz  2 года назад +3

      I can see why you would be. In lightburn you have a radio button that indicates air assist on or off in each layer . You turn that off in lightburn when engraving if you have a Thunder laser because it really means when you have the air assist off in lightburn is means low volume air flow to the thunder. You never want to go without any air flow or you will crack your focus lens. Thanks for watching.

      Thunder laser is one of the only lasers that have a dual air assist. you control it in your layers in Lightburn. air assist on or off. off really means low volume air. this will automatically switch from low volume air (engraving) to high volume air when cutting. this is very convenient and effective!
