Bass is run thru a Leslie 147 Speaker. The growl is the easily overdriven amp and the crossover running the higher frequencies thru the upper horn. This is one of the earliest uses of bass thru a Leslie speaker on tape. Its a mix of DI and live mic'ing. Pretty genius idea and created a unique unsettling sound.
I hear more funk and blues. But I think they covered a lot of styles throughout their career. I think dazed and confused is the most metal thing they did
That growling bass ! Bonham is the reason i started playing the drums and JPJ is the reason i started playing bass Tightest rythm section ever Thanks for the video Ludwigson
It's amazing how these two, John and Jones, elevated and enhanced what the other two, Jimmy and Plant, did with guitar and vocals. The perfect alchemy that turned everything they played into musical gold. Thanks for that Ludwigson ❤
This shows how critical JPJ and Bonzo were to the success of Led Zeppelin. They kept the song on track with strong bass lines and creative drumming. Best Rock rhythm section ever! Love JPJ getting some love.
No problem man. I remembered your comment from last month and will be following up on it very shortly. I've been busy, but I have more time to upload now ,so live song isolations will be on the way :)

There is no doubt that John Paul Jones had the soul of a metalhead, just listen to his work on Achilles Last Stand.
Some of his songs on Zooma are hard as nails

I think that ALS is real proto-thrash and the root for Mustain's sound (Presence is the one of his favourite albums)
@@1harky01 damn i never knew that about mustaine, if thats true thats super sick

Same!
Listen to that bass and drum groove! Bass sounds great growling away! Bonham being solid as a 🪨 rock.

This is literally metal.
Id love to hear bass and drums on Out on the Tiles.
Jonesy’s baseline invented Black Sabbath and Metallica at once.
And Iron Maiden.
@@nellsonogmore5938 He invented Maiden with Achilles Last Stand

@@ludwigson11 : Drinks on me whenever you're in NYC.
Early Bonzo neck sideburns rule
Ive always thought the bass drum is buried way too much on Heartbreaker
Wish Jones was allowed to be stronger in the prominent bass zone, like chris squire
Duuuuuuuuuuuu......caralhooooooo
What happened to the Hi Hat? smh....
Its like that in the original recording aswell. I think its a shaker overdubbed, thats why it seems echoy
This video was made using AI rather than the original multi tracks, so it sounds a bit glitchy
ピーターガンのテーマみたいだ
Better without the others
Nope.
Not at all
Yep
