The most asked question I get with the build is what headers are you running? So here you go guys: DNA Motoring HDS-BBC396-572. If your trying to use them on a c10 like ours you will need to shorten then collector. Longer engine bays may get away without changes. Also next most asked question is what size turbos: Compressor: Trim: 69 A/R: .66 Inducer: 68.7 Exducer: 97.8 -Turbine: Trim: 92 A/R: 1.05 Inducer: 87.4 Exducer: 77 Good luck everyone on your builds and thanks for watching!!
Thanks man!!!! It's not to bad, most of what sounds like the lag is the engine pushing through the torque conveter. We put a 500hp B&M in it last year before turbos and well let's just say its not holding up its end of the bargain anymore :)
So if my non turbo carbureted 468 1975 lwb c10 has traction issues with the factory gearing & 12 bolt it came with then good luck 👍🏼 nicely done-now you can spend the next couple yrs making it hook

In this day of totally boring LS swaps, BBC is a standout. I get it on the plus things about LS , but sometimes you just need to do it different. 454 in my 57.
Love your truck ive got a brown 81 BBC/6spd swap. I have been eyeing up some turbo kits. Is this a fully custom setup or did you buy a specific “kit” for a BBC and fit it to your C10? If so what did you get? Also any idea what kind of power this will make? 12psi seems like a ton on a BBC!!
Fully custom kit, pretty much anything turbo wise for our BBC has to be peiced together. Power wise we really arnt sure. We will get it on the dyno once our 1 piece driveshaft shows up.
About how much would it take me to build this...ihave a 99 c2500 short cab long bed with a gen 6 454 would love to do something similar...great build!!!
About Midway through the video I started to wonder who was holding the camera. I was thinking for a minute you was trying to drive and film at the same time. But then you answered my question. 4:44
Most everything is custom made, but the turbos are GT45s. So to build this kit your gonna need lots of money and most importantly time. I plan to someday do a full video of the turbo side of the build to give people a better idea whats needed, probably do that in a few months.
Haven't been able to give it all shes got yet but it handles 12psi of boost with no problems at all. Going to do some more engine work this winter and turn her up more. Also running hyperfuel dual electric pumps to feed it and it holds a solid 58psi(fitech required) also with no struggles what so ever. Turbos are GT45s
@@forcedobsession1180 Very cool. My motor ended up requiring bigger injectors as it would lean out at 3/4 throttle. But I considered trying Fitechs early on. Everybody seems to really like them. GT45s are 88mm inducers?
Yes we are running a air to water intercooler and opted for an ice box style cooling system for max thermal cooling. Our intercooler is a CX Racing and our icebox was made by PNR welding.
Ours is 8.5:1 Depends on the build, if your internals are aftermarket, balanced and how much boost you plan to run are all factors. With good intervals and proper fueling/tuning 10:1 isn't unheard of for boost.
I’m currently wanting to twin turbo my 468. I know I’m going to efi but I’m really trying to research how I need to do it. If you can give me some insight I’ll appreciate it
@@forcedobsession1180 I’m at 10.1 compression and I’m thinking about space because I have the 468 in an 83 Cadillac. I have factory heads that have been worked and I’m running a Howard’s hydro cam and lifter. I feel like I’m overwhelmed a little cause I guess I don’t know where to start
Think your first priority is figuring out how and where to mount the turbos. Our c10 has lots of room in it and to get twins with intercooler piping stuffed in wasn't easy. After you figure out where your gonna mount them you need turbo headers, or regular headers flipped upside down and your gonna need to mock up vbands to attach turbos. Once attached you can rotate turbos around and kinda get an idea where to run intercooler piping. When it comes to efi anything considered "Power adder" model for Fitech will work with boost. Holly has its own system also that I would recommend over Fitech. Stuffing twins on a 468 isn't for the faint of heart, its going to cost alot more then you would think and your going to be screaming bad words alot. I have a few videos on my channel that I posted kinda back when the build started. Take a look at them.
Thanks!! So we don't use filters, we use Turbo Guard shields. Yes they don't filter all the small particles but they keep the big junk out. She's also not a daily driver or will ever see rain.
Hey I understand the feeling, I have a rock quarry down the road from me that litter the main road with rocks. Luckily I L can take it slow around that area so that I'm not kicking to much stuff up. If your doing a build similar to ours you could cut the collector on the turbo manifolds a little shorter then you could fit a low profile filter on turbos, or go smaller turbos ;)
FANTASTIC, well my biggest word of advice is do everything possible to the engine before you install it. Also plan for the future. I spent may to much money upgrading then the next year everything had to be upgraded again(replacing new parts with bigger/better). So build for the future of the vehicle. Example don't order something good for 400hp now when next year you will be trying to push 800hp. Good luck!!!
All boost related bro, a stock engine can handle small boost if you have the fuel system to support it, just do some research on whatever engine you are running, some engines can handle 5psi boost stock, others can handle 15psi.
@@classiccarlover2118 I understand :) You can run 7psi to be safe just make sure you have supporting fuel system. 7psi will still give you all the smiles you need bro!
