That's because it wasn't his face splatted but his belly so yeah, according to physics, he falls back.
Palutena's whole thing is doing everything with as much elegance as possible, so it's true to her character.
On its own, it's not great, but the fact that Palutena is just not letting it phase her and still looking like a snack brings it up to at least high-C or low-B for me.

Look, I love fire emblem, but Corrin is literally the worst, most lazily written protagonist that has ever existed in the series, not to mention the fact that fates is literal shit. It’s so poorly written, and the characters are so stale and unmotivated that I don’t even blame people for completely dismissing it before even playing it.
