Hi very helpful, I have a question for an EDC. I bought a RYU quick pack, it's 20 in long, my torso length is about 17.5 in. I love the bag, but it doesn't really follow the torso lengths, but I'm also not going hiking with this. So what is your suggestion for EDC backpacks (no hip belt)?

Hi, I am travelling SEA myself in a couple of months and was originally going to go for the Berghaus 55+10 (15)L. I will be travelling for up to 5 months and most of our flights booked so far have a 20kg luggage allowance. Do you think the Berghaus will be too big and how much in terms of clothing are you sacrificing to downsize to the 40L? Thanks!

Hi Yasmin. In all honesty, I wouldn't want to travel with a bigger bag in SEA. I had a decent selection of clothes with me, just remember that you can always pick up clothing really cheaply whilst you are there. The thing I struggled most with for space was toiletries, although I tried to avoid this by using travel bottles and keeping soaps/samples I had from guest houses. The less you carry, the more flexibility you have with modes of transport also, and walking around with a heavy fully packed bag in the humidity gets tiring very quickly! I highly recommend packing cubes to squeeze your clothes in! I hope you have a great time :D

you didnt talk about the weight at all. i am looking at packs right now and feel like if it is more than 1,4 kg it sounds really heavy.

I'm currently looking for a backpack for my trip to Australia to work for a year or maybe even two. Would the osprey farpoint 40 be big enough for this? Thanks!

It really depends how light you can pack but I would have struggled with my 40L Farpoint in Oz. Simply because it gets cold during winter (crazy i know!) so you do need some thicker layers. Also if you're working it involves taking things to make yourself presentable....work clothes etc. which takes up more room than just my backpacker rags alone! Just don't go too large because carrying backpacks between hostels and bus stops is no fun in that heat!!

Nomadic Unicorn thanks for getting back to me! Yeah I did think it might be abit small so i think I'm going to go for the 55l as I think anything bigger may be too big! I love your videos by the way and you've really helped me and put me at ease about going to oz! Thank you!

No problem :) 55L sounds much more manageable for what you need versus lugging it all around! Thank you so much, I'm glad you are enjoying them & finding them helpful! I hope you have an amazing time in Oz :D

@ in her own world: Is it possible to stay for one or even two years in
Australia? Because I only know of the work and travel visa that allows
you to stay for three months. Sry if this is a dumb question, i am new
to the work and travel world ;). Which kind of work are you planning to
do and do you want to stay in hostels or do camping? Would be supercool
      if you could answer :)

PS: I am going on a round the world trip, meaning cold and warm clothes in one bag. Please help me out:)

I would go to a shop and get them to size it correctly for you, especially if you have had back surgery. You may benefit from a backpack that also has wheels but i would definitely get one with a proper frame if you decide to go with a backpack. In regards to warm and cold clothing- I would definitely suggest taking a microfibre fleece, some thermal leggings (thin as possible) and a scarf that can double up as a blanket, sarong, etc. Thin layers will be useful and travel in your heaviest/bulkiest clothes if you can. Also I'm not sure which countries you are visiting but you could always pick things up when you are there. Second hand/ Charity shops/thrift stores are in most places where clothing is more expensive. I hope you have an incredible time! :)

Nomadic Unicorn thanks so much. Ill possibly go for an osprey bag they have so much to choose from. Im going on a rtw trip basically and ill also do the trsnsiberian. So , warm clothing is a must. Do you have any websites you usually visit for (long term) travel gear/clothing?:-) Ehm one last question. What camera are you using for your trips and travels?

Good quality bags are unfortunately expensive. There are always sales though, and I would rather save for a good one than have a bag break on me mid trip!
