Dog Sushi now that’s an idea, Jack and Nori seemed to enjoy it. I think being feed with chopsticks was what threw them. Sarah your homemade Sushi looked delicious 😋
Such a shame that some (not all) of our favourite RUclipsrs such as yourselves now have so many longer and more frequent adverts. Guess that’s RUclips trying to get us to pay up for ad free. Still enjoying the channel!
We know the ads can be annoying, but we appreciate you putting up with them, as that helps our channel to keep going 😊 We have never changed the level of ads on our videos, so any changes must be coming from YT 😕
Great video. If you like gin you should try Roki gin which is a Japanese gin. Would be perfect with sushi. We found that gin recently in a Thai restaurant in Dundee. It is now our favourite gin. Your dishi looked really delicious 😋 xx
Hi Willie and Sarah! Another great video…. I’m always sad when the video ends… it seems like the time flies by! Looking forward to seeing if the clams work for bait.. I hope they do! 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Have a great week! Kisses to Jack and Nori! ♥️🐶♥️🐶
Sarah I love that you prepared the rice exactly as my Japanese mother-in-law would have done. Always rinse, let soak for 15 to 20 minutes, cover and bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low and let cook covered for 20 minutes. My husband loves Onigiri, his mother made that for a treat when they would go to the beach. Everything looked fantastic!
Its always worth the wait with you 4. Loved the digging not so much the fish but I'm glad you all enjoyed it.I see the picture was wonky again today. The likes are going up as I type now I can't wait till next Sunday. Love to all.
Sushi for the dogs is SOOO EXTRA! I love it! I'd do it too if I ate sushi. 😂 BTW, superb filleting there Willy. Another enjoyable video. Have a good week xx
I have known Skye for 60 years and i would not describe it as remote. Now one of the busiest places in Scotland with superb range of shops selling local produce.
I enjoy watching you both to see what is going on. Always learning something new as well. I think you did good in making your own sushi. My grandmother would make sushi. It does take a lot of preparing but it is worth it. Yummy! Love the bloopers.
Your shell fish is wasted as bait, makes much better eating. The only takeaway we have is when our neighbour produces some for us all in the village. Usually mussels and oysters.
We went in the talisker distillery while we were on Skye in the summer, was actually very good . We sat down by the water side and had a cup of coffee from the cafe across the road . Autumn is definitely the best season some of the colours are fantastic, the cooler weather is far better than all that humidity we have in the summer months, I hate the heat .
Working in a large hotel once, I was watching our Japanese chef de partie prepping the rice for sushi for a banquet and he was fanning when it was done and giving it a stir. I thought it might be some ancient secret that I didn't know about and asked why he was doing it. He looked at me and said, "Rice very hot, cooling it down faster". LOL. Yours looked yummy.
Sarah have confidence in yourself. You make cooking as hard as you want. Sorry not coming for tea. Fish and seafood allergy. As a chef i wore double layer of gloves when handling fish and seafood. Yes a sharp knife is the best thing. There are more accidents with blunt knives than sharp. You put more pressure on a blunt knife. Yet another excellent video. 🏴🏴🏠🌹❤️
I have been to Nudo in Newcastle before. I think your sushi looked fabulous. Your boys have a wonderful life, all that outdoors to explore snd even sushi too.
I wonder how Willie will use the clams in his lobster traps. I love sushi and sashimi and salmon roe on a roll of rice in nori. Great job Sarah. Of course Willie’s filleting lesson made me appreciate the process. That Nori definitely can’t be in the same room as the raw fish. Can’t wait for the next episode.
I must have said this on a previous video when you first got Nori but until you explained why you named him Nori, I honestly thought it was Willie making a 'Jackanory' reference. So whenever I hear you say 'Jack & Nori' I just hear the Balamory theme tune in my head 😂
Hey guys your sushi looked great but I really don’t like it but each to their own I suppose glad you both enjoyed it 👌👏. It is so dark early evening now and the weather has been pretty miserable really as well. Hope you all not getting washed away up where you are it’s been so wet😢. As always take care and stay safe ❤❤
I make sushi at home quite often, definitely need to keep practicing and doing. Gets a lot easier. And get that bamboo mat, so easy. Thanks for episode!
Ahaha you know what - we do have a bamboo mat, but it was so far at the back of the cupboard that I couldn’t find it. A week later looking for coffee beans and I did…🤦♀️
Sea bass looks amazing. Well done on the Sushi. There's a place nr Exeter that does fish and chips with sea bass straight from Brixham. Pretty awesome but not quite as cool as dining on your own catch.
I found that Talisker was very strong and peaty so very much an acquired taste or as my mate Simon said first tot strong second tot better but after the third tot put the Cork back in the bottle!
Try a pump instead of digging lugworm it’s far easier and more productive,👍 Sorry that gravel might be too difficult with a pump but on a sandy beach they are great.
Ahhhh sushi. Yum! Unfortunately I can’t partake. I have hereditary hemochromatosis because of my strong Scottish and Irish ancestry. But I lived vicariously through you two. 🍣 🍱
I don't eat shellfish so no idea which are eatable and which aren't healthy to eat. So my question, all those clams you found, why use for bait instead of making steamed clams, or clam chowder or however clam eaters prepare them?
Yes, I think they are too. Will need to read up a bit on how to prepare them. The dark grey part is extremely tough. I imagine that will need to be discarded, along with the shell.

As always, such a pleasure seeing your video pop up on Sunday. Hello to the doggies!

Willie and Sarah, Congratulations! Thanks for another lovely video!
Those Two Doggos are SO DELIGHTFUL❤❤❤
Our favourite time on a Sunday, even though we had to wait that extra hour.😊
Loved it as always!❤
Glad it was worth the wait!
Dog Sushi now that’s an idea, Jack and Nori seemed to enjoy it. I think being feed with chopsticks was what threw them. Sarah your homemade Sushi looked delicious 😋
Great video as always. I see you put the shelf back to where it was and got rid of the new freezer in the kitchen😁😜
Ahaha very eagle eyed of you! 😅
@@livingtheskyelife Why? Or maybe the sushi project was filmed before the new freezer was installed?

I pay RUclips a monthly fee and I no longer get ads at all.

@@i10galand the lidl dupe of Roki is a fairly good gin as well :-D

Yay congratulations on the 60k 🎉🎉🎉❤

That sushi looked very professionally put together 😊 you four definitely have a blessed life ❤

That Sushi looked amazing guys, fair play,id have never thought of making my own.
Hi Both, finished too soon! Your sushi looked amazing and love the bloopers 🏴
Try eating the Clams rather using them as bait, delicious !
The clams are called pissing Willy's and are great bait for cod..
Sushi for the dogs is SOOO EXTRA! I love it! I'd do it too if I ate sushi. 😂 BTW, superb filleting there Willy. Another enjoyable video. Have a good week xx
Thank you for the video!!! Love watching every Sunday!!! Question- what happened to your freezer??
Hello from 🇨🇦 The dogs were gentle.
Well done with the sushi at least you get a treat worth the work tc all luv from the oldies 👍🤗🤗🤗🤗
That's a magnificent bass you caught!
Love your videos!! Always interesting!!!
I have known Skye for 60 years and i would not describe it as remote. Now one of the busiest places in Scotland with superb range of shops selling local produce.
Always enjoy your vlogs, you two are awesome
Very impressive!!! 🎉
That is so BEAUTIFUL THERE! AUTUMN IS AMAZING❤❤❤❤
Nice to find those clams and at least your bait bucket didn't go into orbit this time.😅

When digging lugworm throw the first forkful away as it's generally just silt it's the second forkful down that's where the worm's live...👍👍
what good boys they are lucky boys
Ah, Talisker, my favorite whiskey. ❤❤❤
We used to dig Gooey duck clams in Washington state. My mom always put cornmeal in the water to clean them out before eating.
Watching soon❤
Moving so far away from Fisher and Donaldson's fudge doughnuts must be a huge wrench....
A treat whenever I go to St Andrews!
Counting down to the 100th.. and very tasty sushi from the looks of it
Well-done 👍🐕🦺🐕
that sushi looked amazing good job Sarah :)

We call those steamer clams here in Massachusetts. We prefer them for fried clams as well as steamed. When fried, they're called softbellies.
Oh my, your sushi looked wonderful. It's been a long time since I had any. Now you have me craving for some!
The Tallisker whisky tour is well worth doing….one of the best I’ve been on. ❤
I have been to Nudo in Newcastle before. I think your sushi looked fabulous. Your boys have a wonderful life, all that outdoors to explore snd even sushi too.
Well done with the sushi! Making it for the first time is a right faff but definitely worth it
Nice clam find you got♦
Great video again, guys. I went through Kirkcaldy on the train on Friday - slightly different to Skye 🤔
Congratulations on 61K!! Are those clams edible? I am making linguine with white clam sauce for dinner (but not fresh clams). Thanks, great video!
Thanks! Your dinner sounds lovely - we really want to do some shellfish pasta 🤤
Sunday evening can begin!
I wonder how Willie will use the clams in his lobster traps.

It’s all about the bass 😂😂😂😂😂 🐠 brilliant
Impressive sushi guys!!!

Another lovely video! We just got back from visiting the Highlands, but Skye is still calling us. What’s the best time of year to take it all in?
Sea bass looks amazing. Well done on the Sushi. There's a place nr Exeter that does fish and chips with sea bass straight from Brixham. Pretty awesome but not quite as cool as dining on your own catch.
We have some Nori, the best damn joke, 😂😂😂
Lovely music!
Thanks!!
Fried clams next!
excellent video
Sarah the Princess!
I found that Talisker was very strong and peaty so very much an acquired taste or as my mate Simon said first tot strong second tot better but after the third tot put the Cork back in the bottle!
I Love Talisker. :)
Dogs aren’t the only ones confused by sushi. Not my cup of tea. Enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Try a pump instead of digging lugworm it’s far easier and more productive,👍

❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed your sushi eating raw fish isn't for me but it looked nice. Well done Sarah x
Ahhhh sushi. Yum! Unfortunately I can’t partake. I have hereditary hemochromatosis because of my strong Scottish and Irish ancestry. But I lived vicariously through you two. 🍣 🍱
Oh wow - that’s a mouthful to pronounce!! Sorry you can’t have sushi any more 😢😢😢
Use a spit for digging clam it's better than a spade..
I don't eat shellfish so no idea which are eatable and which aren't healthy to eat. So my question, all those clams you found, why use for bait instead of making steamed clams, or clam chowder or however clam eaters prepare them?
Raw fish? Yucky lol! 🐟🍱
Brilliant.. can't you eat them. E.g. clam bake. American style. Hug from brazil
Yum! Did you have some wasabi?
Yes we did! Willie likes it but Sarah not so much
You used clams for bait!!? You eat them. They are great.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
😁👍🏻💕
Where the 🦕 gone 🤪🤪🤣😀😍
Don't you want to keep the starch in the rice? It makes it good and sticky?
I think if you didn’t rinse it, it would be too sticky! You don’t want it like risotto - which is very starchy!
Oh Willy!.. Such a waste of beautiful shellfish..... For bait 😮. Please don't!
blessings
I believe Sand Gapers are edible, Willie.
Yes, I think they are too. Will need to read up a bit on how to prepare them. The dark grey part is extremely tough. I imagine that will need to be discarded, along with the shell.
gaper clams?
