Hi peeps! This episode we're trying Gordon Ramsay's famous Beef Wellington as the Savoy Grill, one of Gordan Ramsay's Restaurants in London! We're also having a feast of Sunday Roast, pink slices of roast beef accompanied by Yorkshire Pudding & a side of roasted Vegetables!
In the spirit of keeping us on our toes & improving our vlogs further, here's our thoughts on this vlog from a technical perspective:
This episode is done rather well with some rather nice close ups & pretty suitable music pairing throughout. In fact, aside from the pace of the vlog which Wei Loon felt personally to be a tiny tad 'rushed', the vlog seems almost as good as it can be with our current filming & editing skills 😁
Sound as usual could be improved in the future with better recording practices but is generally acceptable in this vlog. Ultimately the way the dish tasted felt like the biggest 'downfall' of this vlog as it wasn't a spectacular meal at its price point despite all the beautiful close ups but I guess we win some & lose some.
We hope to see you again next week, that vlog is going to be our best vlog to date 😉

I enjoy your videos, especially the way they are shot. You definitely have a talent for making documentary-esque reviews.
As a frequent traveler to Paris, I have visited some of the bakeries you mentioned in your Paris series.
Like both of you, my domestic partner and I travel often and much of our travel experience revolves around food. In fact, we often choose our destinations based on food cravings or to experience cuisines we have never sampled.
One thing I have come to appreciate is that dining in a restaurant is a wholly immersive experience, which includes the setting, the service, drinks (wine or cocktails) and interactions with staff including maitre d', etc.
My observation is that your reviews focus solely on the food and do not consider these other important aspects of dining out.
For example, I dined as an adult at The Savoy hotel in London in 1996 (pre-Gordon Ramsey). I can't tell you what I ate or how good it was, but I can tell you that it was one of the most pleasantly memorable dining experiences I have ever had in my life because of the beautiful setting and the five-star service we enjoyed during our visit, all of which I remember vividly (in contrast to the food).
The meal I would regard as the best I have ever had in my life to-date was superb in every one of the aforementioned aspects. I am confident if the food was excellent but the other aspects of the experience were average or poor that meal would not rate so highly.
So, and please take this as constructive criticism, I suggest perhaps (of course it is your Channel and you may do with it as you wish) you widen the focus of your reviews to include the other important aspects of restaurant dining.
I will continue to watch your reviews regardless. Safe travels.

Hi Ronald 👋! Thanks for your kind words ☺️, we’re glad you enjoyed our videos & we hope to keep you entertained in the future too 😋
Don’t worry about giving us constructive criticism, that’s how we learn and improve, in fact we encourage that hahaha! 😝
You do make a good point in relation to taking a wider approach when it comes to commentating our dining experience. We’ve been trying to ‘sprinkle’ a little more commentary on the setting of the restaurant as well as service (albeit rather brief)😙. We’ll continue to experiment & further improve on this aspect 😊
As for the scoring of the meal/food, we focus entirely on the food regardless of setting/service. The reason stems from our respect to the kitchen team, as front of the house isn’t always within their control. We’ve had some experiences where the service was mediocre/rigid but the food was executed at a very high level. To score it lower because of a misstep/blunder caused during service felt like a disservice to the kitchen team. Hence we’ve decided that the scores only reflect on the food and we only comment on the service/setting if it has affected us in a negative/positive way.
Thank you for taking the time & effort to write to us! See you in the next food adventure~ 😋

that looks spot on to me, i cant see how they'd cook it any better (from my eye), only way it could be 'better' or 'worse' is through the ingredients themselves. and no i've not ate at that restaurant, that's like a day wage for me but maybe one day!

The jus needs to thicken. Who wants a runny sauce that just runs off the surface. You want a rich thick sauce that sticks to the dish
