Making and enforcing laws are very important in order for any society or church to thrive and to be successful. Making laws allow a society or church to establish acceptable codes of behavior. ... Enforcing laws is also important. If laws are passed and then not enforced, they would have no meaning. I am so proud we are following God's will and not the world. Now will others either support or leave? I hope they are honest and pray about it and pick one. This endless debate has to end. Thank you for the hard work Rev. Renfroe to you and all of you working so hard to show both love of all and the passion to follow Jesus.

Keep praying and stay vigilant because those who want to move away from Biblical teaching are not going to stop. Especially the lgbtq community. Which is less than 2 percent of the population.

We have driven the global church to see the world and read the text through a colonial hermeneutic, with its truth as object "enlightened" apologetic and this is the result. I am so deeply saddened for and with my LGBTQ brothers and sisters. The UMC is wrong on this.

Hello there. I'm just watching events from UK. This is so confusing to me. I'm wholeheartedly committed to the Lord Jesus. I know the most important commandment is to love God and then to love each other, and that Jesus is the truth, the light and the way. But I only know these things because I believe that the Bible is God's Word. If you don't believe the Bible then you're free to believe whatever you want to. How can we know God, only through Jesus, and He says that if we want to be His disciples we must continue in His Word. This world is such a painful place for many many people but we're going to live for ever, either with God or without God, so this is just a small part of our lives. Of course everyone should be welcome in church. Jesus reached out to everyone, but if we truly love God we have to surrender everything to Him. Even our hopes & dreams. That's the narrow path and it isn't an easy path to follow. Dying to self each day but then becoming more & more full of God's Spirit and having Him change our hearts and make us more and more like Jesus. Jesus talked about people loving the praises of men rather than the approval of God. Don't you feel concerned that changing God's Word to fit what makes people feel happy is just like creating a god in our own image? If you don't believe what it says in the Bible how do you know that you really have a relationship with Jesus. Maybe you have a relationship with someone else? How can you be sure that you'll be going to heaven? I love my family and friends so much. I sure want to be in heaven and I want to see them all there too. So if I truly love them I have to share what I believe to be the truth with them and that's what I believe your brothers & sisters in the UMC are trying to do. They don't want to hurt other people but they want all to be saved. True love speaks the truth. If they believe the Bible is true what answer are they going to give to God when He asks them why they compromised? Why they didn't do more to rescue their brothers & sisters?
In the Bible it warns us to take care that we are not deceived and that in the last days men will not want to listen to the truth of God's Word. Don't you think we might be in the last days now. All I know is that I want to stay close to Jesus and I don't want to do anything that would cause me to miss heaven. I want to take as many people to heaven along with me too, but often I'm too fearful. I pray that God will help me to be courageous for Him to share is truth with others. If I truly have His love in my heart, I'm sure it will compel me to speak.
