The best way for me to move on from someone who ended it with me, is to tell them to not contact me anymore, block them if I have to, embrace the pain, grieve, move on slowly, and focus on myself. The more I let pain sink in, the quicker I get through it. Because most people will do absolutely ANYTHING to avoid pain. As for me, I embrace it fully. Because pain is the greatest of teachers. My ex somehow missed the signs. He didn't want to see it I guess... It became clear for me that it was time to move on when I realized that I didn't want kids with him or to live together with him. A friend of mine found her on tinder and supposedly his roommate had swiped on her about 2 weeks prior, which led me to realize she had made it about 2-3 weeks after our break up. We had been together for almost 2 years, neither of us cheated or left the relationship angry at one another, we ended things on great terms. Don't put expectations on yourself to be over it. Think about it this way. If you have a bad cut you don't ignore it. You wash it everyday and put antibodics on it everyday. Slowly but surly it heals and pretty soon you don't think about it anymore. You just have to keep attending to your feelings. When the negative ones come up don't judge them. Hold them close and give them love. Keep reasuring yourself and remember that you are worthy of love. Remember someone walking away has nothing to do with you and everything to do with that person. They could of chose to stay. They could of chose to work it out. If somone walks away they weren't the right person. In the moment you may think that they provided the things that you needed, but they didn't. No one person can provide everything you need. They are just one piece of the pie and one piece is not going to make you full. Start making a new pie for yourself and let it cook for the full time. I still can't understand how could we break apart, and honestly, inside I don't want to leave her behind, I don't want to leave our memories and projects behind. We were so united and symbiotic. Mine had mental health issues too and was very unhealthy (BPD), but it’s been a month and a half since the breakup and things have been a million times better. It was important that I focused on myself and not dwell on her. She left me for my friend and married him in 2-3 weeks of dating- which is fine because I was so unhappy and kept leaving her, and it’ll probably come back to them, but still, my friend??- and it hurt a LOT for some reason, but what kept me going has been working out and going out all the time. Tinder and bumble helped me tremendously because I realized there’s still plenty of people that find me attractive and actually give healthy friendships/relationships. It’s rough at the start, and you’ll always want them on your mind, especially if you have any sentimental gifts, but it’s best to just let it go, put it in a spot you won’t find, and talk to new people! Or don’t! Figure out what makes YOU happy, because people will be extremely attracted to a YOU that understands what you want and what makes you happy :) but if your co dependent like me that hates being alone, getting out and finding people is the best way.

This honestly made me feel a little less of a a-hole now because I was the one of the one who broke up with them. My ex is a really nice person, but I couldn’t love them the way they loved me. It’s been seven years that we broke up because he cheated on me which his “friend” and a month later they got together. I’ve dated other people and hes had a baby with her and recently got engaged with her. It’s like having a hole that never got healed even though you’ve traveled, finished college and graduate school, moved all over and even went through therapy to heal from the emotional trauma he put me through. The best way for me to move on from someone who ended it with me, is to tell them to not contact me anymore, block them if I have to, embrace the pain, grieve, move on slowly, and focus on myself. The more I let pain sink in, the quicker I get through it. Because most people will do absolutely ANYTHING to avoid pain. As for me, I embrace it fully. Because pain is the greatest of teachers.

My ex somehow missed the signs. He didn't want to see it I guess... It became clear for me that it was time to move on when I realized that I didn't want kids with him or to live together with him. Over time I became more annoyed by his little habbits, and how little effort he put in our relationship. He took me for granted and assumed I was fine with it. I gradually and subtly started to convince him to try harder, but when I finally managed to convince him my feelings for him were fading very fast. I had a hard time breaking up with him, resulting in three breakups instead of one, and still he really didn't see it coming that I wanted us to be over. I'm not mad, I want to be friends. But I never want to date someone as clueless as he was ever again.

A friend of mine found her on tinder and supposedly his roommate had swiped on her about 2 weeks prior, which led me to realize she had made it about 2-3 weeks after our break up. We had been together for almost 2 years, neither of us cheated or left the relationship angry at one another, we ended things on great terms. She told me not to worry about her seeing other people because she said it wasn’t something she wanted to think about for a long time. Last week I’m positive she hooked up with somebody even tho sex was never something she cared for. She no longer contacts me either. None if it makes sense, it all has me so confused and upset. All this time I’ve been crying over losing my gf, my best friend, but it feels like she doesn’t even care anymore. It makes me feel like none of what we had meant anything, or that I meant anything.
I hope your heart heals soon, it seems like she doesn't spare any feelings anymore. (And obviously she wasn't being honest about things when she was in the relationship with you.)

Don't put expectations on yourself to be over it. Think about it this way. If you have a bad cut you don't ignore it. You wash it everyday and put antibodics on it everyday. Slowly but surly it heals and pretty soon you don't think about it anymore. You just have to keep attending to your feelings. When the negative ones come up don't judge them. Hold them close and give them love. Keep reasuring yourself and remember that you are worthy of love. Remember someone walking away has nothing to do with you and everything to do with that person. They could of chose to stay. They could of chose to work it out. If somone walks away they weren't the right person. In the moment you may think that they provided the things that you needed, but they didn't. No one person can provide everything you need. They are just one piece of the pie and one piece is not going to make you full. Start making a new pie for yourself and let it cook for the full time. When you are ready to look for a new pie be careful to not get too eager because it looks good. Watch the cheif and see how he or she is peparing it. That will tell you if that pie is right for you.

I still can't understand how could we break apart, and honestly, inside I don't want to leave her behind, I don't want to leave our memories and projects behind. We were so united and symbiotic. And yes, I made mistakes that hurt her, but I wasn't ill intentioned, and I tried to improve, and I was making progress, and we were both committed to carry on despite everything, when suddenly she felt that she loved me no more. I have been through similar confusion, and inside I still hope that this is the same process within her, and that there remains a little of the love that we had for each other.
I understand that neither of us were ready or matured for what was coming for our relationship, and that this process can fix that on an individual level. But I still can't conceive my life without her by my side.
Edit: and yes, apparently she's beginning a new relationship, only after approximately a month away of our breakup. And I just hope she's not serious, because then she won't come back.
And yes, I try to wish what's best for her, but I can't help being terrified looking at the huge hole her abscence leaves on my heart.

She Moved Back to her Ex
I just ended it literally last night, could tell that they were never happy. Kinda fucked up in the head, I have been numb the entire time but also kinda happy that it is over. Mine had mental health issues too and was very unhealthy (BPD), but it’s been a month and a half since the breakup and things have been a million times better. It was important that I focused on myself and not dwell on her. She left me for my friend and married him in 2-3 weeks of dating- which is fine because I was so unhappy and kept leaving her, and it’ll probably come back to them, but still, my friend??- and it hurt a LOT for some reason, but what kept me going has been working out and going out all the time.
Tinder and bumble helped me tremendously because I realized there’s still plenty of people that find me attractive and actually give healthy friendships/relationships.
It’s rough at the start, and you’ll always want them on your mind, especially if you have any sentimental gifts, but it’s best to just let it go, put it in a spot you won’t find, and talk to new people! Or don’t! Figure out what makes YOU happy, because people will be extremely attracted to a YOU that understands what you want and what makes you happy :) but if your co dependent like me that hates being alone, getting out and finding people is the best way.

I'm stuck! I broke up with my ex 2 years ago. At the time I was dealing with a lot of stress, and I thought that the best part of my life was the problem!
