I dont know about that, but I think this is a good successor to the MK IV, it was never made to be a good perf. Car, it was made as a sport grand tourer. But, opinions are opinions.

Haha! I love reading all of these comments when no-one's even driven one yet. Same happened with the 86 because it had "no power". Well I've had the pleasure of racing a stock 86 off the showroom and beating mates in much "faster" cars inc V8 M3's, V8 Maserati's, Cayman's, Focus RS Turbo's etc etc and all for a fraction of the price because it shares DNA with Subaru. So what? If you truly love cars, the only real test will be when you driving at 8/10ths on an awesome back road or decent track. Don't get me wrong, I get it, I do...it shares a BMW power-train. And a real sports car is more than the sum of its' parts. And..there's a LOT to be said about bouncing a screaming straight six of the rev limiter. I personally cannot wait.
Well that's the irony. People with no clue talking about shit they don't understand. I will take a well sorted chassis over all. Its not hard to extract power or just swap motors if the build really requires it. Irony is the only DNA shared with Subaru is the badge. Toyota engineered the car and basically wanted a motor they didn't need to design from ground up. Tetsuya Tada is a fantastic engineer. They were initially going to build a lap time car but Tada mentioned that his conversation with tuners and car guys was the fact that they keep old cars like the Sylvia and AE86 on the road for a reason years after their production. Toyota and Subaru had just announced their partnership and the key to keep the car low and specifically its nose low was to put a flat motor in it. Tada proposed the project and collaboration to Subaru. Subaru did not believe that the vehicle would've been a success without a turbo and 4wd and basically scoffed at the idea. He literally had to grab a legacy, convert it to RWD and present the car to them. Subaru was then impressed because they stated the car was fun and would be returned to them often with the rear tires bald. Given that they allowed for the use of a boxer motor. This was primarily for financial reasons to keep the cost down. Dumb fucks often loooove to scream, "develop a new motor". Said dumb fucks then bitch and moan when they can't afford a 60k sports car. They had the engineer who developed the LFA motor talk about implementing similar fuel injection tech in the FT86 which Subaru fought against given the issues they had with direct injection. And then twats come along and say there's no passion. Japanese engineers embody the epitome of passion since Japanese brands are so conservative. Its a real fight to churn these cars out.
And if I remember correctly before the partnership with Subaru. There was mention that they had two choices of motors they would have gone with for the GT86. One was the motor we got with the Boxter. And the other was a Rotary. So if we didn't get a Boxter it would have been a Rotary possibly. And then people would have bitched about that. lol Its just people will always find something to complain about. Especially when Nostalgia is involved.

I heard 60's usd this will cost am big fan of supras but in 60s usd I got lots of better option I can go buy used tt rs or just go buy used 18gt with 10spd get some after market parts and viola its ready

Car companies need to provide sports options for enthusiasts. The world loves these companies because throughout the 90's they provided affordable performance options.
Its a stubby nubby glorified 86 with a massively detuned BMW engine, paddle shifters not column mounted, no massive flared guard's, no crazy wide tyres, too short to drift easily and went from a wasabi slap in the face from its initial concept photos to a bland German sausage on white bread with a droplet of Japanese Tabasco.
They should have stayed with their own car racing recipe seriously go check Japanese 80s 90s sports car and for d car enthusiasts they fucked us in d ass start to build family sedans

All Aussie & English previews are LAME! Overseas joirnalists have been showing the analogue and digital dashboards with head up displays and more info about driving modes and electronic dampers with settings also for the exhaust system.
