As someone who does play a shit-ton in attack planes and bombers (mainly as a gunner for an excellent pilot for both), I want to share some observations we've both made. For the attack plane, while the tank buster loadout is useful against tanks, It's very difficult to take out a tank in one strafe with it, as the drop and speed of the shell is difficult to gauge at long distances. You will need to hit your target 2-3 times with the main gun, as well as drop your bombs on their mark if you wish to inflict substantial damage. We've found that the tank buster is better suited for taking out the train and ship behemoths, as well as unsuspecting, straight flying planes quickly, rather than actual tanks. While the tank buster loadout can be useful at taking out unsuspecting tanks, the ground support loadout is simply the most usefulm as it is able to engage with air, ground and sea fairing targets. A good strafe with the ground supports 20mm cannon and bombs can do as much as 30 damage on a good run. The bomber is much better suited for taking out tanks. Swooping in works better than dropping bombs from up high. The closer in you are to your target, the better chance you will have to drop your entire payload. However, if you fail to take out your target, this will leave the very large, very slowly moving bomber open to being taken out by a tank shell. We feel that the default loadout is the best, as it will allow you to engage both armour and infantry quite well. The front gun on the bomber is the same as that of the pilots gun on the standard attack plane, so you can use it to damage tanks with that as well. This may not be advisable, as it may alert the tanker of your presents, giving the tanker the chance to shoot down your low flying bomber before you can drop your bombs. While the rear gunner on both the attack plane and bomber cannot do any damage against tanks, they can still relay information to their pilot which can really help how they tackle the situation. Thinks like: How damaged does the tank look? Who is piloting the tank? (what level they are can help decide whether they should be engaged or left alone) What loadout does the tank have? It may sound silly, but all of this stuff really helps. Overall though, planes are best suited against other planes and infantry. While they can take out tanks, they are best for finishing off damaged tanks, rather than trying to destroy them solo. Two other things I couldn't figure where else to put: 1. Fighters are almost worthless against armour. Trench darts can do damage against tanks, but about as much as a frag grenade. Plane rockets are worthless as well against anything another than airships and other planes. 2. While the rear machine gunner on the attack plane and bomber can't damage tanks or the train and ship behemoths, they can still do quite a bit against armoured cars and lesser vehicles, as well as the airship.
I'm not a good pilot but am a very good tanker. and I agree with what you r saying the only thing is if you come at me from the front at a low-medium height ill destroy the plane with ease. ESPECIALLY BOMBERS but can and have taken out attack planes and fighters with tank also.
The artillery truck has one very huge weakness that not a lot of people account for. If you can manage to get one anti tank rocket in the driver window, it will detonate the shells inside and it will be a one hit kill. Also the Tank Hunter land ship has a .50 cal rear view gun for the driver as well, not just the squad variant.
You forgot the most important thing. Just be sneaky with the assault class, if u spot any tank, let it drive by. Then chase behind it. Have dynamite and AT grenades equipped and a light AT grenade. Drop all three dynamite and as soon as u detonate, through a AT grenade, instantly followed by the light AT grenade. That will disable any vehicle. Then throw the last AT grenade. Works 100% of the time.
I do basically this, but instead of light AT i take smoke grenades. I wait for a tank to get close to cover then throw smoke down so enemy infantry thats likely around don't shoot me in the back while i chase the tank. The smoke might even disable the enemy explosive indicator from the dynamite if the driver is in third person view, but you still have to be fast. If the tank is at full health they will likely drive a bit forward to see out of the smoke, but thats fine, as they will then just be left wide open and disabled for a friendly to pick off, if you dont get the kill. I wouldnt start out with the smoke if i got the drop on a tank in the middle of nowhere though, that would just tip them off.

I think there needs to be a fix to were only the player that sets the mines can destroy them. also once I sat 2-3 mines next to a tank and before I could shoot em or hit with impact nade a player hit them and gave him the triple kill and tank destroy.
I`m always use a fire grenade as a support because if you hit a tank with that the tank can NOT repair itself for 8 sec or so. In that time your tank grenade (bow) & normal fire grenade will already be loaded for a second attack. Repeat this over and over and you can destroy everything. But it must be said that as a support you must be carefull that the tank not kill you before that......but it works great. The assault class on the other hand stays the best class to destroy tanks......but as a support it goes wel also IF you use also the fire grenades.
Andres de Groot ive not played a lot of support but for me the at mines are a tanks worst enemy especially on amiens. limpet charge is good but not that great by itself.it takes like 3 of them because soon as someone hits me I pop repair. pop smoke and book it to cover to repair. and the fire grenade does not keep u immobilized. so again I just book it if I cant find the enemy. basically I book it soon as I start taking damage even on a point because pushing a point with a tank usually gets it killed. instead clear out the point then push when your team gets there.
Monte crap hole you want to put them midway up the road leading to C, putting them directly on C is a waste of time as 9/10 they will be destroyed...but best option is to wait by the road till they stop just outside of C drop two AT mines behind or at the side of the tank then throw an AT grenade or shoot the mines it's the best way...my record is 12 tanks destroyed in one round on this map using this technique! One thing you should never use unless against a light tank or a tank on low health is the rocket launcher which is basically a pea shooter that ends up giving away your and your team mates position.
Not sure if you mentioned it, but you can use the HE mortar to kill tanks. This is how i get my tank kills since i basicly play as support with a Ammo/HE mortar kit.
Most interesting channel for BF1 imo and the guy is funny without trying too much or being immature like most other annoying RUclipsrs. That 20min video didn't seem long at all as I thought it'd be, was super interesting and will prolly make BF1 much more enjoyable as I'm Level 44 and only been playing TDM so far 95% of the time cause I was sick of overpowered vehicule that can repair infinitely with unlimited ammo, that's completely dumb if you want my opinion, that can camp from super far and one shot you very easily while taking close to zero damage.
Evading vehicles is a skill, but yeah they can be annoying. Try getting used to Conquest :) I'm really glad you enjoyed the video. These videos turn out whatever length they turn out but I sure didn't mean for it to get to 20 minutes hehe. That's even with cutting out a lot of rambling etc.
AT Mines have been my staple since Bad Company 2. What I do is stack 2 anti tank mines on the same spot so they aren't as easy to spot. Depending on which direction the enemy is spawning, I usually plant them outside of the C flag at Monte Grappa. And don't forget to mine the side road that leads the back door flag.

It's probably been said already, but you can disable the motor of the artillery truck. You need to target the hood/bonnet directly above the front wheels.

If you carry an ammo crate with your support load out, you can put one down immediately after placing a limpet charge and if you're quick enough, you can plant a second one onto the vehicle as it's repairing form the damage. A lot of times, if you place it right, you'll disable the vehicle so it's not like they'll be going anywhere while you wait about 5 seconds to get your next limpet charge. This technique is great for taking out armored cars, artillery trucks and light tanks and can be decent at taking out landships in my experience. It's not as easy to take out the heavy tanks with it though. EDIT: Lol never mind, you mentioned this n the video. I'm a doofus.
Great advice👍🏼 I just got the game and I'm hyped. This helped a lot. My personal favorite loadoit is either the at rocket and anti tank lines or the TNT and anti tank rocket
Liquid Blitz ...Yes you can disable all front weapons on all ground vehicles. The only one i haven't disabled yet is the artillery trucks, and that's because I don't run into one enough.

Don't remember which bomber version but the one with the heaviest bombs can take out any tank from full health in a single run if the bombs are dropped correctly
I have the mace that can damage light vehicles, then some light anti-tank grenades, a rocket gun and the normal anti-tank grenades. So yeah, that's pretty good for destroying tanks.
nice video. I think your right about the at mines. for the last month ive been using the mines. before that the whole game I was using the grenades. I always take rocket gun because of the added range against infantry and for tanks. but my main point is: throughout the game up until I switched to mine, I have like 25-30 kills with grenades in like 160-180 hours played. with the mine I have like 85-90 mine kills. and that includes me still using grenades on Argonne forest. that also does not include when I sneak up against a tank or whatever vehicle and place the mines at the back plant at least 2. I use 3 to make sure. but you can use a impact grenade or your gun to set em off. when you do this it gives you kills for whatever gun you hit mines with or impact grenade. so I'm missing a few kills with mines.
Someone the other day suggested the same thing but instead of impact grenade, they throw Light AT grenade to set off the mines + extra anti-vehicle dmg from that specific grenade :)
that's cool, but I use impact because it has a fast detonation. I don't want the tank to drive away, and 2 mines will do it but I use 3 in case the mines don't do full damage.
When I am using the attack plane to attack tanks I tend to dive in from a higher altitude, dive fairly step (tank cant aim high enough to shot me), slow down as much as possible to get as much time as possible with my gun, then drop the bombs before pulling up. :)
Great Video, although with a "Guide to Destroying Tanks" not including deflection angles and how it changes damage is an oversight IMO. Maybe a secondary video explaining deflection and how to use them to your advantage/disadvantage. Still, Great Job!
Limpit charge is great for those corner campers. If I know their in a house I'll walk up to a corner wall and boom quick entry away from the door and usually get a kill out of it. I fought a guy like that the other day. He killed me sitting in a corner and was dumb enough to stay there so he got a big surprise from the wall not the doorway he was watching.
I normally only engage tanks when I'm alone if I'm playing assault unless I'm actually needed cause I hate wasting my AT stuff because some asshat decided to wait until it's one hit away and steal my kill so I just sneak around to the back a lot
As 4 the arty truck, u can disable it by shooting the engine. As a tanker I know different stuff does different amount of damage depending on where u get hit. Would be cool if you'd experiment each vehicle and see what does what damage, f.e. Field gun/ at grenade and where u get hit. Lot of work, but no1 knows this shit and it helps a lot on the bf
That was the plan, but unfortunately, the best place to test things is an empty server and there is no HUD when a server is empty - which means I would have to test all this in real games which would take a thousand mortal years to test each weapon in each specific spot on each specific tank - and I'd have to do all that without getting killed, so for each time I would try a specific spot/weapon, 9 out of 10 times I would die or it wouldn't be a certain test because the tank would probably move etc.
Thanks..this was very informative. I wanted to point out though as I am sure others have that the Howitzer variant (my favorite) of the light tank's degree of motion for the weapon is not 360 degrees. It was in the beta but they nerfed it cause people were dominating in it. I need to get good at one of the other variants. I love gunning in the other big tanks and rarely use the Arty truck. As far as planes...just horrible as they are very hard to control. I'm gonna start playing with sensitivity to see if that helps.
Good video as usual, only thing I think you 4got is you can kill the gunners of heavy tanks/landship. I'm not sure if there is a specific spot like a sloth or something you need to hit them, or it's a glitch but I kill m all the time with tankshots
Boutneus12 yeah you can actually, just throw a limpet charge at one of the gunner positions on the tank and it'll disable that part of the tank. That's what I do
worth saying not to hit the back plate on a light tank because it has more armour there. i see a lot of light tanks being driven backwards because of this. do you know if the lump on the top of a heavy tank is a weak spot ? i get the head shot marker pop up if i hit it !
Good vid...earned a Sub!! Man my AT grenades ALWAYS bounce off it seems...I'm gonna have to play around with it. The Limpet charge used to be blow up when shot until they patched it.
Ah that's interesting to know. My best advice for bouncing AT grenades would be to aim for a flat surface on the tank or the sides of the treads. Maybe things like the weapons and sticky out parts/edges of things don't count for some reason.
Lay two anti tank mines near any take then back up a bit throw a anti tank gernade on top of the mines. Tank done 100%. Try it. You don't have to have the tank drive over it it just needs to be close to the mines. It does take some technique tho
Anderson Caldwell I too find this the most effective. Can sometimes be difficult to get close enough to a light tank or artillery truck if they're constantly on the move. I find it really satisfying though to drop tanks this way as well
Awesome video! You changed my mind on AT rockets! I noticed you didn't mention anything about stealing enemy vics when they bail out? 10X better than destroying a tank is claiming it for yourself. Also Cav class?
Loved the part where he limp dicked a light tank and got killed just to see it's engine disabled for about couple of seconds before tanker hit magical emergency repair button. So used to see that when disabling tanks, completely useless mechanic.
the heavy tank has a weak spot on its commanders view point (the beam on the top middle of the tank) the light tank's back is really weak you score more damage there than he front or turret. also you never mentioned field guns. those bad boys are deadly if you land on a weak point.
i have found that using the trench fighter version of the fighter plane actually kills even heavy tanks quite indiscriminately...the guns might as well be shooting marshmallows at them but the darts can and will instantly kill a tank if you aim right
I'm not sure I agree with that. I've hit some heavy tanks dead on and I might as well have just thrown paper planes at it for all the damage it did. But the dart is a BEAST for killing infantry. Since this video I've started spawning a Trench Fighter whenever there is a plane free and I've grown to love this damn plane. Soo0o0o0o0o fast :)
Liquid Blitz huh...really? i swear ive killed some tanks with it! it was on Suez as well (the planes are op map)...perhaps the tanks were already low on health...i know that the rockets on the bomber killer loadout might as well be darts against tanks and behemoths but i have successfully destroyed a Zepplin and an Armored Train using this variant
this is how to take down a tank with a repair tool, spawn in a bomber as a gunner and parachute down behind a tank, climb on it and hack away (works perfectly when you jump in the park of an enemy artillery tank xD)
@liquidblitz what i do real quick is have a load out in assault with the dynamite and the AT grenade, so ill set down all 3 and throw 1 AT at the dynamite and boom bye bye tank
O Bailon you can place down AT Mines quicker than dynamite. If you can get close enough to drop dynamite you can probably get close enough to drop mines. Much stronger than dynamite. If placed even remotely close 2 should do the trick either by shooting them or tossing a nade.

They can shoot it. Sometimes blueberries will shoot your mines and plant their mines...or shoot yours if they're in front of theirs.

Note that you can be in fact destroy limpet charges. You just have to be really quick

I find the best all-rounder setup is AT grenades and AT rocket. You can use both on infantry as well, and you can use both from range.

Dunno if its been mentioned or not, but the tank hunter landship has a rear gun, another tank hunter rifle.
field gun is epic against tanks and it's very fun to hit sniper positions from great distances 😊

Don't remember which bomber version but the one with the heaviest bombs can take out any tank from full health in a single run if the bombs are dropped correctly

I have the mace that can damage light vehicles, then some light anti-tank grenades, a rocket gun and the normal anti-tank grenades. So yeah, that's pretty good for destroying tanks.
nice video. I think your right about the at mines. for the last month ive been using the mines. before that the whole game I was using the grenades. I always take rocket gun because of the added range against infantry and for tanks. but my main point is: throughout the game up until I switched to mine, I have like 25-30 kills with grenades in like 160-180 hours played. with the mine I have like 85-90 mine kills. and that includes me still using grenades on Argonne forest. that also does not include when I sneak up against a tank or whatever vehicle and place the mines at the back plant at least 2. I use 3 to make sure. but you can use a impact grenade or your gun to set em off. when you do this it gives you kills for whatever gun you hit mines with or impact grenade. so I'm missing a few kills with mines.
Someone the other day suggested the same thing but instead of impact grenade, they throw Light AT grenade to set off the mines + extra anti-vehicle dmg from that specific grenade :)
that's cool, but I use impact because it has a fast detonation. I don't want the tank to drive away, and 2 mines will do it but I use 3 in case the mines don't do full damage.
also I forgot to mention I have like 20-40 hours using mines. and as I mentioned above I have like 160-180 hrs used with at grenades.
When I am using the attack plane to attack tanks I tend to dive in from a higher altitude, dive fairly step (tank cant aim high enough to shot me), slow down as much as possible to get as much time as possible with my gun, then drop the bombs before pulling up. :)
Problem with slowing down is you become a very easy target for infantry and other vehicles in distance.
Great Video, although with a "Guide to Destroying Tanks" not including deflection angles and how it changes damage is an oversight IMO. Maybe a secondary video explaining deflection and how to use them to your advantage/disadvantage. Still, Great Job!

Limpit charge is great for those corner campers. If I know their in a house I'll walk up to a corner wall and boom quick entry away from the door and usually get a kill out of it. I fought a guy like that the other day. He killed me sitting in a corner and was dumb enough to stay there so he got a big surprise from the wall not the doorway he was watching.

I normally only engage tanks when I'm alone if I'm playing assault unless I'm actually needed cause I hate wasting my AT stuff because some asshat decided to wait until it's one hit away and steal my kill so I just sneak around to the back a lot
As 4 the arty truck, u can disable it by shooting the engine. As a tanker I know different stuff does different amount of damage depending on where u get hit. Would be cool if you'd experiment each vehicle and see what does what damage, f.e. Field gun/ at grenade and where u get hit. Lot of work, but no1 knows this shit and it helps a lot on the bf
That was the plan, but unfortunately, the best place to test things is an empty server and there is no HUD when a server is empty - which means I would have to test all this in real games which would take a thousand mortal years to test each weapon in each specific spot on each specific tank - and I'd have to do all that without getting killed, so for each time I would try a specific spot/weapon, 9 out of 10 times I would die or it wouldn't be a certain test because the tank would probably move etc.
The dynamite is best for enemy cavalry on horses if you can time the explosion
Thanks..this was very informative. I wanted to point out though as I am sure others have that the Howitzer variant (my favorite) of the light tank's degree of motion for the weapon is not 360 degrees. It was in the beta but they nerfed it cause people were dominating in it. I need to get good at one of the other variants. I love gunning in the other big tanks and rarely use the Arty truck. As far as planes...just horrible as they are very hard to control. I'm gonna start playing with sensitivity to see if that helps.

Good video as usual, only thing I think you 4got is you can kill the gunners of heavy tanks/landship. I'm not sure if there is a specific spot like a sloth or something you need to hit them, or it's a glitch but I kill m all the time with tankshots
Boutneus12 yeah you can actually, just throw a limpet charge at one of the gunner positions on the tank and it'll disable that part of the tank. That's what I do
worth saying not to hit the back plate on a light tank because it has more armour there. i see a lot of light tanks being driven backwards because of this. do you know if the lump on the top of a heavy tank is a weak spot ? i get the head shot marker pop up if i hit it !

If you dive with a bomber and drop both sets of bombs right before you pull up and land them on the tank its pretty much a guaranteed tank destroy

The incendiary tripwire mines damage tanks, too, right? I think you didn’t say that (or I missed it).
Good vid...earned a Sub!! Man my AT grenades ALWAYS bounce off it seems...I'm gonna have to play around with it. The Limpet charge used to be blow up when shot until they patched it.
Ah that's interesting to know. My best advice for bouncing AT grenades would be to aim for a flat surface on the tank or the sides of the treads. Maybe things like the weapons and sticky out parts/edges of things don't count for some reason.
I have footage of taking out low health tank with repair tool. I uses to love taking out other with blowtorch in good ole days lol
Lay two anti tank mines near any take then back up a bit throw a anti tank gernade on top of the mines. Tank done 100%. Try it. You don't have to have the tank drive over it it just needs to be close to the mines. It does take some technique tho
Anderson Caldwell I too find this the most effective. Can sometimes be difficult to get close enough to a light tank or artillery truck if they're constantly on the move. I find it really satisfying though to drop tanks this way as well

Gas all day. I find that if you aim low on the heavy tank, you can still do quite a bit of damage even when attacking the front.
Loved the part where he limp dicked a light tank and got killed just to see it's engine disabled for about couple of seconds before tanker hit magical emergency repair button. So used to see that when disabling tanks, completely useless mechanic.

the heavy tank has a weak spot on its commanders view point (the beam on the top middle of the tank)
the light tank's back is really weak you score more damage there than he front or turret.
also you never mentioned field guns. those bad boys are deadly if you land on a weak point.

I destroyed about 4 vehicles with repair tool in bf1 (probably more) And I only survived once,the tank always blows me up when it gets destroyed
i have found that using the trench fighter version of the fighter plane actually kills even heavy tanks quite indiscriminately...the guns might as well be shooting marshmallows at them but the darts can and will instantly kill a tank if you aim right
I'm not sure I agree with that. I've hit some heavy tanks dead on and I might as well have just thrown paper planes at it for all the damage it did. But the dart is a BEAST for killing infantry. Since this video I've started spawning a Trench Fighter whenever there is a plane free and I've grown to love this damn plane. Soo0o0o0o0o fast :)
Liquid Blitz huh...really? i swear ive killed some tanks with it! it was on Suez as well (the planes are op map)...perhaps the tanks were already low on health...i know that the rockets on the bomber killer loadout might as well be darts against tanks and behemoths but i have successfully destroyed a Zepplin and an Armored Train using this variant

I blew up a tank with a mini grenade once, can only imagine how the driver and the two gunners felt
this is how to take down a tank with a repair tool, spawn in a bomber as a gunner and parachute down behind a tank, climb on it and hack away (works perfectly when you jump in the park of an enemy artillery tank xD)

@liquidblitz what i do real quick is have a load out in assault with the dynamite and the AT grenade, so ill set down all 3 and throw 1 AT at the dynamite and boom bye bye tank
Thats good as long as the tank doesn't kill you or drive away from the dynamite.
O Bailon you can place down AT Mines quicker than dynamite. If you can get close enough to drop dynamite you can probably get close enough to drop mines. Much stronger than dynamite. If placed even remotely close 2 should do the trick either by shooting them or tossing a nade.
Not everybody use the gas mask. People forget they have it, and if you hit it the enemy could die before he get his mask on
