I’m debating on putting my catless downpipe back on…. I like that it’s a little more quiet in the cabin without it on…but there is a noticeable dip in performance now that I have a baseline. That GP looks to be a badass ride!!
That is my biggest fear right now with me getting this downpipe now! Appreciate the videos not to many of us out here in the Mini community. I do have a side question that I'm experiencing now though, after the install of my exhaust system I noticed the pops have seem to diminish or be none existing at times. Is this common or do you now of anyone experiencing the same thing? FYI its the invidia Q300 exhaust. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, unfortunately, it seems like fitment issues with downpipes aren't that unusual. As the the pops and your exhaust, I'm not familiar with the Invidia exhaust. Pops only happen for me when I have the valve open. So the less restriction, the better for that.
My 07 MCS is fitted with a Invidia Q300 and I specifically had the pops/bangs written out of my tune... that says.. she does still pop a little when in sport mode with when I get off the loud pedal. Mine are a little subtle and not loud and overly aggressive ... suits my vibe with my car, although those 101 mm tips would suggest otherwise!!
Great question! We ended up installing a downpipe from Racing Dynamics. There were also fitment issues with that one, but not around the main connection point to the turbo.
@@MiniBrothas I believe the GP3 uses the LCI2 style downpipes. i used the racing dynamics also and since it was catless i did not worry about the downpipe lord mount. its a different engine block compared to previous years.

Interesting. I don’t think that mounting point moved between on the block with the LCI or LCI2 models though.
Lucky you, no downpipe allowed in S California. Inlet and boost pipes with Race Chip still can make loose grip on 2nd and 3rd gear. No CEL😂 too
You can't install a downpipe with a sports cat in CA?
smog check , visual check , smell check. U name it we have it. New this year sound check, no over 93 decibel.

Does this downpipe fit the f60 countryman jcw??
The downpipe we ended up installing was meant for an F60 JCW Countryman. Make sure you order one that is intended to fit.
