Those are the old style tips. Do not trust them to handle fast flight. I have two of them. Dacron only should be your rule if you are expecting to make it a regular shooter.
Great looking bow. I have video someplace in my collection showing a step by step how they built the Kmags while in grayling.. I remember Fred called them there favorite product at the time video was shot.
I used that same hair rest and leather Bear strike plate on my early 70’s Bear Grizzly 45#. Workes awesome and looks good! My recurve is brown with a green future wood front.
Hey I know it’s been a couple years since you made this, my dad just handed me down this model bow he’s had for years, I was wondering what string I should use to set it up, old and dusty still got some cleaning up to do but if you could help me out that would be nice, thank you
Awesome video mate. I got ptsd and anxiety so for me archery is meditation and relaxation. Ive in a bow club and loaning gear now. But am out of work so cant afford my own gear i dream of having a good recurve bow and target so i can shoot everyday would help me a lot both with the ptsd/anxiety and getting in better shape.
I have been using fast flight on these bows for years this is the third or fourth bow I have had of this model, and they work fine with fast flight. Never had an issue. You are correct though this bow was designed and built before FF came on the scene. It is not recommended to use fast flight but in the same sentence it is not strictly forbidden either. If the bow checks out as good and you should have all used bows checked by a qualified bower first. Thanks for watching
There is no false year info. According to my research from the web and the Bear Archery collector book this is the correct year. If you have other info that you found on this bow forward it to me and I will review it and make any corrections if needed.
I still have my I got in 1973 good show thanks
I just discovered your channel. Love the vintage archery vids. Keep them coming.
Yes sir a great looking bow. I think your really going to enjoy shooting that they are nice. See ya soon. 👍🏼🏹🇺🇸 God bless my friend.
Hey, that´s my bow - welcome to the kodiak club. The price ~9 year ago has been 180 €. The selling guy did not know anything about it.

Very nice bow close to 50 years old and to be as clean as that is awesome.
A little helpful hint for you. Put some super glue around the stable bushing. They tend to get stress lines/cracks around it and the glue will help.
Good to know

The Kodiak magnum is selling new for over $500, even last year.

Don’t ever use fast flight on these bows. 🤦♂️

@@allthingsarcheryandshootin9380 It's really a non-issue if you pad the loops when you build the string.
Don’t give false info on the year🤦♂️
