    This combo is OP! I use it in all of my PvE builds for Crusader:

    I made a small mistake in this video. Harmful effect duration is not rounded up with Baron, it is just extended by 30%. What I meant to say is that because the duration was extended by more than 0.5s (the duration of 1 tick) this meant that enough time was there for 1 extra tick to be resolved when I equipped the Baron set. Apologies for the confusion!

    Definitely works been using it with Barbarian Demoralize Detonate build months ago.
    Also since it wasn't explicitly brought up here (I'm sure Mao is aware) I want to add some more mechanical info.
    Any DoTs besides ones tied to specific skills should be applied and simultaneously detonated (if it works the same way Barb's does).
    That means DoTs from gems (Viper's, Seeping, Roiling) and set bonuses mainly (Banquet, Angment's).
    You should be able to cast just your detonate skill and see the Legendary Gem/Miscellaneous section of the target dummy damage breakdown fill up with procs without doing anything else.
    The reason this is important may not be super obvious to everyone at first but it means that just casting Condemn while running through mobs should still do big damage just from applying all your non-skill based DoTs all at once and instantly consumed/resolved/detonated. You won't actually see the DoTs ever apply since like I said the game is resolving these 2 actions instantly (the procing of a DoT and the detonation). But you should see a BUNCH of numbers above each mobs head (I have some CRAZY screenshots!).
    Skill based DoTs, Sacred Fire, even something from a Condemn essence itself, and Lashed Curse bonus are some examples. Anything only another skill can apply. Although Lashed is Primary, the idea is the same.
    I'm actually curious now, does your Crusader version work the same way? I believe it should, there are essences that make it apply burn DoTs right?

      I didn't want to make that comment any longer than I did so I wanted to just add mostly strictly interesting information.
      So technically Potency has some affect, and the new 1* Misery Elixir is 24% harmful duration increase. But with testing that with Baron's I found that there seems to be a diminishing returns thing happening like with the way Armor Pen is. Eventually you hit the durations cap (56% I think? Forget what it says for players. I know that information is in the description for Potency, but it seems like it's wording is talking about just in general beyond what Potency adds and the part about the caps are from all sources. I guess this is testable, I may try it. You just need to go somewhere you are hundreds and hundreds of a thousand Potency over the Resistance of mobs in that current activity and difficulty. If it shows you're at the harmful durations increase cap, just see if there's a difference when you put on Baron's. If I'm right it means hypothetically you could ditch Baron's by having 5k Potency or an essence that increases a specific CC (not talking just about Detonating builds).
      My Demoralize taunt "stun" when paired with Chip gem is the longest stun in the game. Then there's still an essence that increases it's duration for 39%. That adds like 4 seconds. Put on Baron's and it only goes up another 1 seconds maybe.
      To just explain what I meant earlier for anyone that actually read this and didn't know what I was saying about the Armor Pen...
      The first 100 Armor Pen over the Armor of targets adds a ton of Crit DMG. If you're 400 Arm Pen over already and then add 100 more, you're only going to get maybe 3-4 more The first 100 gives maybe 20-25%? Next 200 brings it to around 32-35%. Pretty soon it takes 100 just to add 1% more Crit DMG. Seems the same with harmful duration increase.
      Regarding the 1* Misery Elixir, it should be a really good option maybe if you're F2P/Low Spender or just super extra casual. Results may vary of course but depending on your circumstances and gem situation, and you want to run a Detonate build, this is a cheap way to get a powerful bump in damage (assuming this is where virtually all of your damage will come from).
      So I said alooot of stuff haha. But there's some insight in there I think.
      Wonder what your take on all this is, assuming I actually made any sense?

      Bonus from Potency doesn't have a "hard cap" per se but it does have diminishing returns the higher difference you have (just like all other secondary stats). Each secondary stat has a bit of a different curve/formula with their diminishing returns but the concept is the same.
      From my understanding Baron and Misery elixir bonuses work in seperate buckets on top of Potency (I could be wrong about it). Though I don't have much experience playing barb I do know about the mainhand you're talking about (Lion's Mane). I wanted to keep this video relatively simple but it's good to see people asking different questions and wanting to test things for themselves. I do wish the game would give us some better information about a lot of these interactions though!

    Before watching the vid (sorry):
    Giving the Horn Shard DOT with the primary attack also takes it back down with Torrental Refrain. (Meaning, every primary attack has the whole 2 seconds of DOT behind it as damage. Of course, this doesn't add much value to Eternal Torment/Bile because they have per-target cooldown).
    So in general and in short: Giving and ending DOT at the same time works. It's my favorite OW combo at the moment (a hit does about 3 times the damage of a primary attack)
    Eternal torment, so if the hit was a crit came back after giving and taking it, so it wasn't taken down by torrental. I couldn't test bile.
    Cuisse of Storm didn't seem to work on give+take: Giving and taking at the same time was understood by Cuisse of Storm pants as 0. Unless it was a crit, then eternal torment came up and cuisse said “yep, one is on it”
    Banquet did not work if the opponent was given a dot and then immediately taken again.
    But pain clutch registered the DOTs that were given and taken and boosted the dmg, but only lightning and fire (which was taken immediately) that came WITH the AA, not the AA itself.

    If we have continual damage for example from everlasting torment, torrential refrain triggers all damage left. But if we have to wait 20 sec to trigger next damage from everlasting torment - because of cooldown - does it mean that there is no sense to use continual damage from abilities with cooldown with torrential refrain? Am I right?

      Depends what you're going for..for pure burst damage it can still be really good to use since you don't have to wait for damage ticks 😉
      For F2P players everlasting is still a decent option imo. For spenders especially since gems can now be awakened on rank 5 it can be replaced for something with more resonance

    Can i ask for suggestion. Do i need to replace my 4 pcs banquets to angmets to maximize the DPS of this build?. My current gems are, gloom cask, maw of the deep, frozen heart, roiling consequences, the new gem with 5 swords, pain clasp, igneous scorn, Vipers bite.

      Banquet is good. Angment is better. You can use it until you have wisps farmed

    What happens if I had a bile/venom equipped? Does the dot still apply after the first condemn or would it increase the first initial dmg.

      You will resolve all DoT damage instantly once you trigger condemn with primary attack which should include the damage from those gems. You will have to reapply the DoT again if you want to deal gem damage instantly with condemn. Viper bite for example will only trigger on the same target once every 20s. So you have to keep that in mind

    what if you also used the new 1* misery gem which increases duration would this stack with barons to give 57% uptime/additional tick for even more damage on Refrain?

      Yes it stacks. But I'd only use the gem for pve content. All gem effects are strifed in bgs by 67%, so that 24% longer duration on misery is actually just an 8% boost and likely wouldn't change the number of damage ticks you get from a DoT anyway. Wasted gem slot in pvp.

    So....sacred fire burns for 2 seconds, but theres 5 damage ticks. Does it hit every 0.5 seconds or how does that come out? Tick1 at 0 sec, tick2 at 0.5, tick3 at 1.0, etc? If thats the case, and barons is a 30% increase on this 2 second burn, it comes out 2.67 seconds and thats why we only get 1 extra tick at the 2.5 sec mark?
    Someone else asked about angmets set with this, and that makes me more curious how that works with the 3 sec ignite DoT, AND the 2 pc set boosts duration even more. How many dmg ticks do we get on an ignite stack + barons + 2pc angmets? Throw in a misery elixir too for science?
    Is it exactly every 0.5 sec we get another dmg tick? I thought ive heard before that if your effect duration comes out to x.9 sec, it gets the extra tick.
    Now if thats not enough, how does potency/enemy resistance all play a role in this too? If i have 4pc angmets, 2 pc barons, and my potency is say 1000 above enemy's resist, how many dmg ticks is my torrential refrain hitting for at once?

      😅Yes, to answer your first questions about the ticks of sacred fire burn
      For the other questions I will try to make a follow up video. But to give you a short answer, yes it works with those gems/sets but everything is based on the duration and tick/s as you correctly identified. Potency also has its own curve based on the value in your sheet. As an example +956 potency over the target's resistance gives +30% increase to durations. This is not linear though and start giving diminishing rewards as you further increase it for example +39% @ +2229. Once your potency reaches very high you will only be gaining 1% or less increased durations even if you add another 1000 on top of it. Hope it makes sense

    I’m a wizard that likes both PVE and PVP, but with the current PvP meta, wizard might as well not exist. Any thoughts on which class offers a fun and fast pve experience but can actually participate in PvP?

      Crusader is definitely worth trying! wizard was my last class and I had a good experience playing with it but it was quite squishy on pvp and needed very careful gameplay.
      I have not tested the new essence for wizard yet (I will be switching just to try them). But if I had to say it feels like in the current meta, crusader is stronger in PvP and also a bit smoother to play in PvE compared to wiz. Another thing to consider is that we will also have a new class announced soon which will hopefully be fun to play and bring more diversity

      Yes, works. I tested Banquet set and it did a less damage than this setup. It is still a decent option if you can't craft angment yet

      Yes it works with Angments too! Under normal circumstances as long as a DoT is applied it should work. I only used sacred fire with hornsplitter in this video just as a demonstration. There are rare ocassions where Baron bonus will not apply another tick if the ticks are all originally applied in a short period of time (1s or less)

      In this case the duration of effects is increased but since another tick isn't applied the damage increase is not noticed

    Does this reduce the effectiveness of Pain Clasp since every condemn hit it removes all continual damage?

      Depends on the build you use. If you continuously reapply continual damage effects then it should be fine. For example on my dungeon build Pain clasp buff is active and reapplied

      @@Mao_DI would you say you get more DPS out of your build with pain clasp over vipers bite? Only have room for 1 and I was never sure how much of a hit pain clasp took with condemn removing all continual damage.

      Hard to say for sure I don't have Viper anymore so can't make that comparison with my current setup. It is a great gem though and I regret scrapping it, the 24% from Pain Clasp is also huge. I would feel happy with either of those on my setup. The best thing to do is give it a go on the training dummy if you get the chance
