This has a lot to improve. 4:15 no need to remove sticker, just put tape on lower opening below "REQUIRED FOR SETUP". 5:50 no need to drill or plug, just use glue gun. 7:29 no need to cut like art - risk to tear tubbing, just cut straight down and use glue to attach clip from bread bag. Also much better to attach ink tube near bottom, not at height. CISS tank at 14:51 looks like big problem to refill... 18:18 BAD idea - you cant watch ink level and will destroy ink inlet if you repeat this over time. Just make another hole above the ciss one. 27:00 much better to place tank to left than to right, can lead the tubbing into the tray slit on left. Pause at 30:50 you have problem with this ciss... needs too much pressure to pull... Also install ink dampers, so ink doesnt travel back into tank.

8630 was working fine. My magenta ran out. Replaced cartridge and immediately started getting printer failure error. Replaced magenta cartridge again and at least now the printer is allowing me to navigate to tools options. Printer is insisting magenta cartridge is damaged and when I view ink levels, printer says magenta cartridge is empty.

Always be aware this ink is water based and I had a leak in a different system years ago and it got on my carpet in my home office. The worst thing you can do is what I did using a industrial carpet cleaning machine. It used water with cleaner and spread the ink colour further throughout the carpet. The carpet naturally wicked the water with the ink color in all directions. I had to remove and clean the floor then replace with new carpet. HP had these types of systems for years on their professional plotters. Why they don't offer this as an option on business printers can only be profit on ink cost.
External ink is put too high, causing the external ink to flow to the nozzle, in the drain to the outside, dripping into your carpet, Our system does not have this kind of problem

Looks like more work than, it's worth. You gotta buy all of these tools and then a refill kit plus ink. Guys look for promo codes like I do. Or just buy a new printer when the ink expires, almost the same price when you think about it.
I don't love that there is no way to close the printer door after installation. Any thought at drilling through the side of the printer and feeding the tubes through?

the hp950 has two airpaths, which are seen when he pulls away the sticker. The one that comes from side to upper middle is air for airbag inside, this is for cleaning and air is automatically pushed back by spring inside cartridge. The other comes from middle of cartridge and goes to lower end - this one leads air into ink chamber after lack of ink creates negative pressure. There is a tiny ball inside that opens up to lead air in. Only this one needs to be closed for CISS, then negative pressure will suck ink from tube. But he misses dampers between CISS and cartridges, dampers are one-way valve, they prevent ink from flowing back into CISS tank for example during cold nights.
Keep getting message "your printer is offline". I use a linksys router and have to toggle between internet connect and the linksys router for printing. How do I get my computer and hp officejet pro 8620 to communicate?

Surely this means its an IISS (Intermittent Ink Supply System) vs CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System) as you have to keep removing the cartridges and then sourcing the chips to replace which end up costing more in money and hassle than getting carts refilled at Costco? Or do you supply a couple of hundred chips with your kit?

Each color inside the nozzle has an ink level sensor chamber. The ink is out of the chamber. You must fill the ink to the chamber, printer will be continue to printing. If you can not handle it, you can purchase the subsidiary chip or purchase the original ink cartridge. The ink cartridge of the factory can make up the problem by filling the ink in the ink level sensor chamber. Modify ink cartridge can be use any.

If only HP ink cartridges were not so damn expensive you would not have to do all these hacks...
There are printer models with CISS from factory. But they are never as cheap as custom CISS. But this CISS needs you to know your printer model well.

Need to insert a set of ink level non-zero ink cartridge replacement, let the printer start, add ink to printerhead ink chamber.
