Great reaction! I discovered your channel a couple of weeks ago, I've been loving your reactions. I'm 44 years old, and that is always my reaction to the way they dressed in the 70s. I used to tell my dad all the time (RIP), "the way y'all dressed back in the day where is ridiculous" (which was usually a response to the way we dress when I came up in the 90s). I would tell my dad, I love the music, absolutely hate the clothes lol lol
In the 70s men wearing a One Piece Jump suit was all the Rage... Artist were signed because of their Music and Voice and not just how they looked; which is why today Artist have to Lipsinc to their recorded Tracks because they can't perform life... Cameo was a top 10 Group!! Shake your pants was a Huge HIT!!

HELL YEAH! FUNK! Unapologetically, uncut and raw BLACK MUSIC! When musically speaking we were on the #1! They're sending you real music by real musicians who laid the very foundation todays music was built on. Most of todays music is sampled from the real music of yesterday. Today if you want strings( Violins, Cellos, Bass) you can learn on the technology. Back then before the technology if you wanted strings you had to hire an actual musician. This was a huge hit when it came out. Folks used to rollerskate, pop lock and break dance in the clubs to this. Everyone dressed like this in the late 70's early 80s. Men had fashion back then and took risks with looks. Nowadays male performers walk around in the same tired looking fits (baggy jeans, the millionth iteration of an overpriced pair of sneakers and can't even dance anymore.) Anyhoo, Cameo has a long list of bangers and classic love songs. I'm sad that Black parents today aren't carrying on the tradition of reminding younger folks about these artists. I'm actually embarrassed for a lot of people on here discovering the icons of funk/R&B. We used to be a proper culture, lol!

Cameo was a group of real musician. My high school band director went to college with some of the members.
When this song came on at a party or high school dance everyone was dancing. This is what we call Soul / Funk music

There was no real video channel to see them when this came out. This song was a BANGER! The funk! Definitely dated but the music still bops.
