Ah, Irumyui's very own Haku all along.
Vueko, who saw herself as garbage was actually gold to that kid.
Both Irumyui and Vueko needs a big hug ;_;
I’m cry.
@@Yazenko636 Hi cry! I'm laugh
@@Absoluuttinen_Totuus hi laugh! I'm dad
@@milesrn2312 When are you coming back with the milk?
Kevin Penkin you just make things turn to gold
No it's more than gold it's diamond
It is said that even junk turns to gold in Penkin's studio.
Yup. He also made the OST for Tower of God which i thought was the best soundtrack of that year
Get it? GOLDEN city of the scorching sun
Vueko is such a tragic but amazing character. I feel this song is a tribute to her.
0:42 Is that Vueko herself singing?
Remember how she said she had a lot of free time to train her voice and that she regularly sung songs for Irumyuui and her children? And if you listen closely it really resembles her voice. If that's the case then it makes this song so much more bittersweet...
good theory, hope its true
stop i'm crying. That makes it even more sad
I hope when songs releases we will hear her singing much more. She has very beautiful voice.
We would have to confirm whether or not the singer is the same as her voice actress, but it doesn’t sound like any of the previous singers in made in abyss’s ost like saito or bold
It should be the song she's singing to all of Iru's little ones that she named.
glad you kept the unofficial ver. i like it more than the original
Hurts to think about how it’s going to be like 2026-2027 before we get another season but this level of animation/music/VA and everything else that goes into the series makes it so worth waiting for.
Realizing this made me even sadder. I love this series so much, it means an awful lot to me. I waited 5 years for season 2, i will wait another 5 for season 3.
@@jewjitsu7159 It made me sad to considering the wait will make me old :(
It's definitely not, the reason the delay between the 1st and 2nd season was so big was because the studio wasn't even working on it for 3 years in between, Made in Abyss used to be a hidden gem, but when it kind of exploded a few years ago, the studio started working on the 2nd season, and If I'm not mistaken it took them about 2 years to actually finish the season.
Also, they spent like a year animating the movie inbetween the seasons too. AND the manga wasn't that far into the story yet, so it was actually smarter to wait. So in reality, it's way more probable that we'll be getting S3 in 2024/2025 by the latest, since all of the factors above aren't in play anymore. The studio found huge success, which also resulted in bigger financial gains, allowing them to expand and invest in making the product faster, no delays anymore inbetween because the show is literally a golden goose for any anime studio to have a hold on. The only thing they might do is do a movie instead of a season again, which is fine, might be even better.

Kevin Penkin's best work yet imo.
Vueko and Iru had lives full of suffering and pain even in the most innocent stages of their lives and their fates were equally or worse terrible, however, they had each other in the terrible but warm darkness and were very happy during a part of their adventure, in the end remembering that beauty was Vueko's treasure, even in the most difficult moments
A prayer cannot be born of one who only knows joy.
In order to experience true love one must know and embrace true pain
They still had shitty lives, but they made the best of what they could. Feels like they never got to relax until they died. Well, except those in the sixth layer's city.
@@kurokamireaper3761 Vueko had no good childhood, probably experienced a lot of hardship adventuring, caught a disease and forced to eat Iru's offsprings, lived alone in darkness for hundreds of years, then suffered from the 6th layer Curse of Abyss before dying.
If only she died in her human form, then it could be a little happier...
I don't cry often when watching anime but god... This show and Kevin Penkin's music make me so damn emotional
At the beginning of the season when we first meet vueko I was like "ugh I don't care about this character I just want to see riko, reg, and nanachi continue their journey"
By then end of the season I wanted nothing more than for her to have a happy ending...
There's no such thing as happy ending in the abyss, i know she suffered a lot but at least vueko died peacefully in the end
@@iudexe3103 Her death doesn't seem peaceful. Probably very painful. After the pain though when life finally escapes her, it should be peaceful
@@iudexe3103 faputa kinda got a happy ending, at least the most possible one that is
@@Tarby. yeah, she get her wish came true - she annihilated the village... I guess, it's kinda adds sense to she literally having about 3 wish-granting eggs inside her? Like, they did grant her wishes, but in the end, she kinda regretted it all after all...
Or not? Because the characters look like they don't care at all after all that shit that happened to them. I mean, they really have an incredible strong will and psych strength to not care after literal genocide of beings that resemble or even saved humanity in themselves... They still happily descending in the abyss that no soul had escaped, with a big smiles on their faces....
@@leeroyjenkins2923 the hollows in the village knew the day would come, where Faputa would free her mother
This entire episode just had me ugly crying
This season didn’t hit like season one until this song played, then POW, face melted
@@UntangledKnots That's interesting, for me season 1 didn't hit until the moment that gave MiA its identity ("My treasure...") but season 2 enchanted and emotionally crushed me from the first second with that beautiful first episode (which in fact begins with this exact piece, so it was a huge reason). Then I fell in love with IRUburu... especially Majikaja. What an arc.
@@raccoonchild So much of what I loved about season 2 was Vueko and when this song played in the last episode it all finally hit me like a brick. The irumyuui flashbacks were intense and emotional but the suspension of disbelief required for this whole season was more than most good fiction, and a little distracting. I like having a lot of questions but season 2 (like this arc of the manga) left me in my head making theories because there were TOO many questions unanswered (many which may not be answered in the end). But like Yoko Taro, my other favorite current day Japanese storyteller, I think Tsukushi isn’t as concerned with the story making logical sense as he is with emotion and the overall feeling of the world, and boy does he deliver there. I’m positive this will be much better a second and third time around.
@@UntangledKnots I see! It's interesting that you describe 'being left in your head making theories' kind of as a bad thing because I personally prefer that over every single thing being established and explained. I guess not having concrete answers makes you feel anxious or aimless instead of excited? In general I don't want creators to explain everything about their creations (for example, I prefer ambiguous and abstract lyrics over straightforward ones) and this definitely extends to fiction so MiA is perfect for me. It's like... tell me about this world, but not so much that it loses the intrigue? I love limitless potential and mystery and things having a dreamlike feel to them just like IRUburu. Overall I care the most about the themes and messages in the fiction I consume. And the characters' inner worlds, of course :') I obsess over that. That's pretty much it for me. Sorry about the pointlessly long reply 💀 I should've just said that as long as the story is good and thematically consistent and actually has something to say, the worldbuilding can be as vague as it wants, and that I'll probably like it better that way...
@@raccoonchild No I totally agree! I just think that my two favorite Japanese storytellers are more concerned with evoking certain emotions than being logically consistent or clear about how things in their worlds work. Like they are willing to leave plot holes and behavior from characters that just doesn't make any sense to me (the way they left Bondrewd alive and he let them pass without much of an explanation, the way they don't even acknowledge that Faputa killed all their friends and just ask her to tag along...for me these would make the characters less believable for lesser writers, but Tsukishi pulls my emotions so well, I give him a free pass) Sometimes the explanations feel like a 4 year old wrote them, but that doesn't make them bad, actually it's consistent with their (Kishimoto and Taro of Nier) playful characters and it's probably just how their minds work. I'm obsessed with both their work, so I am not complaining. As for analyzing, I read the Dune series and Enders Game series as a kid, and I loved the theories and analysis that came into my head reading those. I love thinking about the spiritual and historical symbolism and occult influence of many anime. I have my theories about the Abyss being a metaphor space/time, death, or Jungian exploration of the self, But I think for MiA and Nier, which I love endlessly, in the end, it's the overall feeling and magic of all the pieces working together 🙂 I only pick at these things because I write stories and music and I want to understand what moves me so much so I can improve my own writing
the golden city... they say it turns even junk into gold 💔🌟
RIP Vueko 💐
beautiful. cannot wait for the official release!
I've been obsessed with this song all season and whether this song is her theme or not because I associate it with her strongly. When I saw on the tracklist that there was an OST song titled "Vueko" I figured it had to be either this one or else the one that plays when she's talking to Belaf on the boat in episode one.
it definitely is this one I think, we got introduced to her with these theme, and it plays constantly throughout the season just when she appears.
this song just made the anime so god damn emotional, took it to the next level. I absolutely love it!
It’s so beautiful. Why am I crying listening to this. All the scenes of Vueko and Irimuyuui just keeps flowing inside of my head.
Both Belaf's and Vueko's music are masterful. I am sure that this song is from Vueko, since in the soundtrack that Kevin Penkin composed, it has a song called Vueko as its title.
Yes!!! The 'Vueko' song HAS to be either this one or the one playing in the 'beauty is in the eyes' convo (unless that one is meant to be a motif for Belaf).
This is the song I've been trying to find, and my word. This song instantly makes me want to cry, thank you Kevin for your amazing work.
This really reminds me of "Von" from Zankyou no Terror in the best way possible, can't wait for the official release.
Yeah sure !
That part with Vueko with this music playing straight up killed me
In the manga it felt sad already but with voices and osts I teared up Kevin Perkin is amazing I can't wait for the official release
It sounds exactly how it feels and it feels exactly how it sounds.
Now that David Penkin dropped it on Spotify and all, just wanted to say thanks for going through the editing so at least we had some way of just listening to this masterpiece🙏
🙏🙏 thank you
Kevin just doesn’t miss, this was an amazing piece.
I've had this song on repeat before the official one came out, and I must say, the singing and subtle sounds have become comforting to me. Yes, I love the official old stories version, but this one just hits harder for me :) Thanks, Dan, for keeping this up! I was lowkey afraid I wouldn't be able to listen to this version anymore when I saw u posting the new ones and getting rid of the old ones xD
Oh ok xD no I will let this one stay at least.
no problem :D
once again... made in abyss leaves people in tears with a great scene and beautiful music.

I fucking cried when I heard this song for the first time. Not outright balling but the kind of cry when tears just flow constantly out of my eyes because the music tugs at heartstrings I thought were too worn thin to be pulled any more. It hit me right in the feelings that I thought had jaded over from decades of dealing with consistent hardship and burden. In a way, it's nice to know I'm not as much of a husk as I thought I was. And I'm thankful for music like this that reminds me.
The people behind the soundtrack for this entire anime deserve an award for best soundtrack.
Mmm the sounds of melting, peeling flesh and sobbing really adds to the atmosphere of the music 😂
Ngl starting to hear Vueko’s transformation at 1:43 broke my heart and I cried

this track really really reminds me of 'von' from terror in resonance... kevin DID work with arnor dan on a song this season so it makes sense :)

あなたはなんと美しい音楽を作り続けるのだろう。。。
One of the things that I observed in what happens to the three characters Veuko, Riko and Faputa is their every decision, Vueko is unable to make a decision on her own which results in her remaining in the dark. As for Riko, she can make decisions on what she knows is right and what should be done, one of the reasons why she continues to survive in the abyss with her friends. Finally, Faputa rushes into her decisions while not knowing the truth and what really happened and if it wasn't for Belaf she wouldn't be aware of the true Story of her Mother and who are the people living in the Abyss that she destroyed and in the end she turned into ashes and was alone and Reg invited him to join Riko's Group for a new adventure and discoveries.

Is it really Vueko singing?
that scene just fucking destroyed me man
I see a song called Vueko on the soundtrack but I don’t see “featuring”. Who is this beautiful voice!!!!
I suspect it's Uyanga Bold. She was on Tozo Hanoline from Dawn of the Deep Soul (and I expect a bunch of the other tracks like Narehate and the Machine and The Return of Made in Abyss - but not named). She'd certainly have the range for this but guess we'll find out when the OST officially drops - or not, if they don't add them to the track credits.
