I love this! One of my biggest issues with original BBS was that Terra supposedly learns all of these lessons from the disney worlds, but then demonstrates no character growth at all. I love every single change you made to Terra's character arc, especially his reconciliation on Destiny Islands, and I love this version of him infinitely more than the original. Well done!
I think the characters put in charge of the mini games actually make sense, Donald for Ice Cream beat because it’s his nephews, Goofy for fruit ball because hitting giant fruit around is well goofy!

I love the fact that you wrote out everyone being super naïve to Xehanort's evil mind. Terra being obviously manipulated seemed better than him seeming to be dumb and believe that Xehanort was good. Can't wait to see all three stories come together! Also excited to see how the overall timeline works out for your AU. Great work as always!!

I love the guy but when an OBVIOUSLY evil old man shows up and encourages you to give in to the dangerous power your master advises you to avoid, it’s just painful to watch. Here he’s just a really big hearted guy and yes he’s gullible but it feels far more plausible with this set up. I REALLY love how you explain the key blades and how they work because it ties into the lore very well. I can’t tell you just how hyped I felt hearing you describe how exactly the lingering will came to be!!! And finally I appreciate the work you put into explaining why the Disney characters don’t age, this could be easily ignored but you working on it is just icing on the cake!
I wish that more side Disney characters were in Disney Town. Like, it'd make sense for Mr Toad to be in charge of Rumble Racing. In my ideal world, Roger Rabbit would be there, too.
When he talked about how a keyblade wielder needs to build a relationship with their keyblade, I immediately thought of the Zanpakuto from Bleach, with their Shikai and Bankai.
Another winner! I loved the nuances in this one. At least for Terra so far, he feels like he's more than a gullible meat head. Though I wish it was possible for Terra to still be the one to strike down Eraqus, let the fear that Xehanort was trying to plan shine through. The added lore for the keyblades was super interesting too. Very reminiscent of bleach. Keep up the great work, friend!

Out of curiosity, is there some Bleach influence going on with that Keyblade rework? Cause you described a system very similar to how Zanpakuto work in that series, but with an added forging process. And if a Keyblade is bonded to it's user and grows with them, how does that effect keychains? Would Sora just be special because he has access to those while other users would not, or would they simply exist as a game play mechanic independent of lore? Also I'm 100% stealing that interpretation of how keyblades function for a KH inspired D&D Campaign I'm running with my local group in the neat future.
There’s definitely some Bleach inspiration! :D Although I didn’t want Keyblades in this story to be quite as expressive as Zanpakuto. Also keychains are more like equipment slots for Keyblades. They can change their appearance and stats, but they’re mostly cosmetic and don’t effect the personality of the specific Keyblade. The only exception is evolutions like Earthshaker to Ends of Earth. (That’d be like the equivalent of a Bankai in Bleach) 👍

Wait.. if Terra, Aqua, and Ven depart at the same time, isn’t it weird that in the first world Aqua visits she meets Terra who just completed an entire world as well as the Castle of Dreams?
Kind of, in the original game they all left maybe a minute apart at max and Aqua still was a full two worlds behind Terra. In my story, I imagined that it takes Aqua a significant amount of time to clear the forest and make it to the castle. They also crash landed, so maybe Aqua takes a good while longer to regain consciousness than Terra. So that by the time she wakes up Terra has already finished two worlds.
I love terra through the only issue I had with him over him keep trusting shady people after being trick once or twice but you made his story more interesting plus love that you made their master rightfully resent xehnaort over his actions like I hated in og he just forgive him despite being the reason he got scar over his face over during their disagreement and allow him attend to cermneory like he did nothing wrong
I've got nothing. Nothing in the *bad* sense, I mean. This was fucking awesome! I've got to say again that I'm REALLY enjoying this refinement of the keyblade lore and magic system! And since Keyblade digivolution is now a thing, what's gonna happen to Sora's keyblade? Will he just find some strange freestyle rendition of that and gain drive forms that way? Will it become the Oathkeeper (It WOULD be the most thematically appropriate)? The decisions for the rest (bearing our latest additions to the keyblade crew) seem rather obvious so I guess there's no point wondering there...except for Riku, who could potentially gain Terra's keyblade depending on what you choose to do. Also, if the Lingering Will fight still exists, what would you think about it becoming some sort of silent mentor to Sora or perhaps a potential summon? If you read the manga for Fullmetal Alchemist, something similar happens for Ed and Al with that "Savage" around to push them physically and mentally while also making sure that they don't die. The latter thing is just me being crazy (if I had my way, Monstro would be a summon; I like to think an amped-up version of the big whale would be an interesting/comical counter to Sephiroth's supernova attack). It *would* be an interesting story development though, since Sora is the only character that explicitly has summoning spells (as far as I know, anyway) and giving that ability some sort of payoff would be nice. Lastly, if you're still considering having Ansem leave something behind, would it be information on these further secrets for the Keyblade?

So I actually have an Idea for the personality of some of the mirage arena/supeboss keyblades. Void gear LR version: While still maintaining its sassiness it has developed a sort of overprotectiveness over their weilder due to a promise made with Vanitas' Lingering Remnant. Ultima Weapon: All Ultimas have different personalities with kh1s ultima being the most similar to kh1 Sora, this one consistently calls Terra out for his reckless fighting style saying "Would it hurt you to use that Renewal Guard Technique I taught you!" It means good though and is concerned about Ventus taking the MOM exam at 16. No Name: Incredibly wise it uses it's eye to alert it's weilder to attacks that would be fatal if not avoided or stopped, think like visions in Xenoblade chronicles IFYKYK. Royal Radiance: Very boisterous it commends the wayfinder trio for using their heads and rewards them for fighting how they want with a strength boost to their command styles. Instead of being a keychain when not in use it becomes a Golden Crown upon its weilders head. Its explanation is that it's initial forger came from a world where the best of the best wore crowns. He and his friends also apparently loved mushrooms. (Yes I have made the creator of RR and his 12 closest friends mushroom 13.) Darknaw: This one just wants to convince Terra to use his darkness more and even gives him advice on how to better control it. Edit since I have watched more: Specific keyblades have that much sentience they are either incredibly strong or were specifically made with that much sentience: Darknaw to help guide dark weilders to not succumbing, No Name and Gazing Eye because of the will of their creator, and Royal Radiance because of it's creators dreams. Ultima's are intelligent because of the materials that are used. But that's my headcanon.
I love this version, but I also love the version of Cryptonix! Which one to choose? Maybe you two can interjoin your own changes to make a new version of Kingdom Hearts.

All joking aside I always wondered if the three of them being apart all the time was because of psp limitations. Like you only get party members in big open areas a specific times, as if the psp can't render them all so write it so that their always apart. I really wish they would have been together so I could actually get some interactions with them.
I mean to say this back when I first saw the video, but it appears I may not have watched the whole way through But making the time gap between Birth By Sleep and KH1 so long just makes you have to fix more than if you did basically anything but change the time gap. And I doubt it really adds. . . anything.
In the original KH1 everyone treats the Keyblade like this super important weapon of legend despite multiple people running around with one only a decade ago. By increasing the time gap it makes one popping up an actual big deal! 👍

You could just remove the Disney Town characters all together, but that seems like more of cop out. The challenge and fun comes from trying to make the original pieces fit in new and interesting ways. It doesn’t always resonate with everyone, but that’s to be expected. 😅

The sleeping keyholes aren't too egregious at all, really The Power of Waking on the other hand you kinda have a point about, at least given how it's treated in KH3 (Was it ever mentioned before-hand? I don't think it actually was) As for Roxas looking like Ventus, the more I look into this the less it really matters. Roxas looks enough like Sora, is noted to just use an edited version of Sora's KH2 model, and Aqua remarks that Sora is "the spitting image of Ven", so the fact Roxas looks like Ventus kinda doesn't really do anything. What's more interesting, however, is Vanitas (in canon, I kinda forgot what you did with him here but I was gonna rewatch), because one can make the argument that Roxas's hair being blonde could have been a natural process (which I hear does happen, though in reverse), but Vanitas having black hair is just completely out of the blue. (His eyes too but that has an easy explanation. He's, like Xigbar, "already half Xehanort")

As for Roxas looking like Ventus, the more I look into this the less it really matters. Roxas looks enough like Sora, is noted to just use an edited version of Sora's KH2 model, and Aqua remarks that Sora is "the spitting image of Ven", so the fact Roxas looks like Ventus kinda doesn't really do anything. What's more interesting, however, is Vanitas (in canon, I kinda forgot what you did with him here but I was gonna rewatch), because one can make the argument that Roxas's hair being blonde could have been a natural process (which I hear does happen, though in reverse), but Vanitas having black hair is just completely out of the blue. (His eyes too but that has an easy explanation. He's, like Xigbar, "already half Xehanort")
