I appreciate how the Ven fighting style shift could be used as an earlier, more interactive tutorial for Drive forms while acting as a nice call back to the Sora/Xion connection. Though the implications is definitely proof that, even in this rewrite, Roxas' life is suffering.

Looking back on the prologue, I've come to the realization that there's something else they could have done to throw a wrench in the organization's plans. After his time in Days and armed with his new knowledge from Riku/co., Roxas ought to know about how the Org is planning to obtain KH. More importantly, he should know about why Xion is important. So the plan would be to draw out the organization (preferably one member) out into a potentially lethal confrontation. Per usual, Xion would be brought out and chaperoned by Saix. This gives Riku a clear pure darkness to lock onto and teleport to. From there, he would just have to sucker punch the man, snag Xion, and make a break for it. Because of the riskiness of this plan, you'd need all hands on deck to make it work. You'd need some intel, back-up for combat, a potential exit route, and perhaps even some offworld assistance (Merlin and Herc come to mind). But that's not even the worst part. The worst part would be figuring out what to do if this crazy plan succeeds. Now you've got the full attention/wrath of the organization on you, and they were already kicking Roxas's butt well enough in this episode alone.
A) You could pin your bets on training Xion to become an absolute beast so that she might be powerful enough to help stave off the storm that follows, but it's still risky.
B) You could do the surefire thing and kill her, but that's morally bleak and also something Roxas would never agree to (probably to the extent of betraying Riku and the rest). Even then, you'd still have a very annoyed Organization ready to get some payback.
C) You could displace her in the Realm of Darkness or something, but eventually the Organization would find out, if not immediately. Even they had some fake hopping around the worlds, they'd eventually catch on.
The one way to assuredly gut their progress practically seals everyone's fate. The options that annoy them can actually do a fair bit of stalling, but it might not buy them enough time. The option of fighting might get a few organization members killed, but that's pointless if it's not someone like Saix or Xigbar. This is the plan I've come up with to slow the organization. It's practically suicide, but it might be alright so long as they choose to spring it sometime close to Sora's estimated reawakening.
👏👏👏 good stuff! I like how well thought out this all is. It’d probably keep Cosmos from having to get involved all together. Although, I’d probably have to rewrite the whole story in that case 😄 Speaking of, I’m excited to hear your thoughts on part 9!
@@KHREMAKE Thanks, but even then, I had forgotten Riku's worsening condition and the existence of the new world where
Roxas and Xion were supposed to be able to live in. If Merlin or Yen Sid have any cloaking magic and then get a fake Xion in the works, they might be alright. They'd also have to pull it off before Riku gets too weak. Lastly, if Mickey can get someone like Auron or Lightning to train Xion while she's in hiding, they boost their chances of surviving Armageddon as well. Technically, he doesn't know about Zack's organization, but he knows Leon, who knows Tifa now, who probably told him and the others about it. *Now* the other plan is complete. Risky, but potentially worth it.
Y’know now that I think about Chaos’ power and being forced to live out 13 lifetimes, it really gets my Gears turning about Xemnas, or rather more ‘accurately’, Xehanort’s true goal about splitting himself between 13 People. Himself, and Twelve Other Beings.
Now that he’d have 12 more vessels to split his conscience, he wouldn’t have to worry about waiting a millennium for his time-out to be over, and he’d also be 13 beings stronger.

Anyways having a fraction of KH’s Power between those guys is quite terrifying if this is correct.
My birthday was a week ago, but the feeling of watching this manages to top the high of any chocolate cake. I have to say, this has really become its own thing now! Just... wow. You've got me smiling like an idiot here, man. I like the twist with Chaos (I'm a sucker for mythological lore like this in my stories), and seeing my boy getting amped with new powers is definitely a plus. I also like the sense of urgency you've given the story with Xemnas achieving his goal from the outset. All that said, it'll be important to keep that momentum going for the most part, so it might be in your best interest to cut off a few worlds (Atlantica*cough*).
The narrowed focus would allow for the worlds included to be more fleshed out. On top of that, it raises the options of what to add in for other entries, which just seems like something useful if you're going all the way to 3-4.
If there was any criticism I could lay against Roxas in your Days Re:Make, it would be that he's too passive (canon Days Roxas isn't much better, but still) while Xion is the one that handles all the main character business. I'm glad to say that this isn't the case with 2's prologue. Seeing Roxas learn from his mistakes, overcome his self-centeredness and even come to terms with himself was inspiring. Not sure how you're going to top this for him though. Any thematic/personal storyline about second chances in life feels
A) Like it would have lost its kick leaving Twilight Town
B) Like it would easily fit into Sora's arc ten times better in this verse.
Then again, he still has stuff to resolve with Axel and Xion, AND his own personal vendetta against the Org, so everything ought to be fine. Moreover, with his connection to Ven, you've not only given him some loose end to clean up in a later title, but removed some of the narrative burden to save everyone off of Sora's shoulders.
I like the details you're adding to the Soul Eater. Just feels nice. Maybe Riku ought to head to Olympus. All the dark, brooding figures and darkness-possessed folk over there, it ought to be simple enough to find a weapon for his purposes*. Is he going to stay blind, though? The obvious answer to his dilemma would be Kairi, but her power could potentially go too far or something along those lines.
Looking to see more of Namine in this story, though I've got no idea what that inclusion would look like. Perhaps she'd become the new Fairy Godmother of this storyline, helping Sora to decipher old techniques or something along those lines. She'll probably be instrumental in outing Chaos somehow.
I'm looking forward to the interactions of the next few entries.
-Roxas talking with Sora face to face in this continuity sounds like it'd be awkward and humorous and AMAZING
-Beyond the obvious (meeting up with Sora again/reuniting the Destiny trio), I'm anxious to see how Kairi and Namine will hit it off.
-Seeing Riku/Mickey's reaction to Sora being alive will also be a treat
-Although the two now lack the nobody link, it'd be nice to have some further insight into Roxas and Namine's interactions (are they still kindred spirits of a sort or are they just work buddies?)
*This would have to be something I really love about KH1/COM worldbuilding, though it might just be my head-canon; the interconnectivity. You can go to Deep Jungle, Monstro, or Atlantica and meet all these strange new people. They've got these different customs, different appearances, and these other techniques that are activated in differing ways. At the end of the day, however, the thing that comes out is a wind shield, cure, or blizzard. Like everyone's connected by some magic through-line. It's one thing to say "one sky; one destiny," and for most that would be enough. I'm glad they also showed it with that bit of worldbuilding.
(Side note: this could also be used for integrating Disney into the storyline, with multiple characters taking Sora/co. under their wing to teach new abilities/limits).
One last thing... is Deep Jungle coming back again?

Plus I like how you handled Roxas's arc. He was my favorite back in the day but Days did him a disservice.

Okay first off, as a Xeno fan hearing KOS-MOS really surprised me I was then disappointed by lack of robot girl, but that's my bad.
Second, I love how you threw a full Final Fantasy esqe cosmology and hidden destiny at Sora and he just went "lol okay but what about friendship?"
KOS-MOS would be a pretty awesome cameo, but I’m definitely not a good enough writer to make that make sense 😂
I love how Sora practically has One For All. This story has been amazing so far.

This is a great story so far. Adding in the Dissidia gods is a decision I was sceptical about, but I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes now.
Question, does this mean Sora would also learn how to use Vanitas's abilities to a degree as well? I reckon it would be a good way for the two to interact, say if Vanitas had a more sentient will and tried to get in Sora's way.

This is really good and it makes sense. The new lore is intriguing and I wonder how Sora’s journey will shift, and also I see what your planning with the previous champions powers becoming drive forms. Only note is I really hope for Donald and Goofy to return as they are my favorite kingdom hearts characters and their absence is what usually has me fall off most kh fan projects.

This was incredible. I was skeptical about a few things, but tried to stay optimistic, and boy howdy did it pay off. You’re not just retelling the story, but making a whole new story with these characters and world, one that think will be amazing. Will you continue past KH2? If not, this sounds like one hell of a finale.

Rewatching this one makes me theorize. Will Xehanort take Vanitas away from Sora in DDD. Which would be how Sora lose Anti Form, so that can be how Vanitas can come back in KH3. Plus, would this be how Sora lose all of his Drive Forms in DDD. I am thinking it would be. If it is true. It would make KH3 being Sora's journey to regaining the 6 Guardians that he lost. Plus makes me think in KH3 in the Keyblade Graveyard. We did get the Keyblade Wielders from X Saga helping Sora out, so would this be how X Saga be more included in the story. Though what got me. Would Marluxia, Larxene, Ventus, Vanitas, Luxu/Bragi/Braig/Xigbar all still be from the X Saga in this. Just making me wonder how you will change X Saga and Dark Road. Curious how you combined them more into the story. You really got me interested. This rewatch definitely helping.

Wow 😲. What a great story rewriting of Kingdom Hearts. I wish they would rewrite this game just like how you explained it.
Commenting before watching because AHHHHH
Roxas is my favorite character in all of KH. And I do appreciate the direction his story goes here. However, I'm a bit conflicted. The majority of what I like about Roxas is that he is a tragic character. The tragedy of living a simple mundane life with people you love and trying to figure out your place in the world as a young teen, only to be told that your entire life has been a lie and you have to give up your personhood for the greater good because you were never meant to exist. So it's a bit strange to see such a different route for him. His awareness of his situation, and him actually having bonds with the Twilight Trio kind of rob him of what makes his story more compelling than Sora's. He's less of a victim to relate to and more of a secret agent badass with no wasted potential.
To be fair, we do get some of that in your 358/2 Days rewrite, but Roxas was born with power there. It wasn't something he truly discovered within himself only for it to be taken from him unfairly.
BUT.
The way you've written it allows for a much smoother story flow and allows Roxas to exist independently of Sora and I've always wanted that before KH3 soiled it.
@@minoru8391 Yeah with Roxas coming from Ven instead of Sora in this story it made a lot more sense to find a way to establish his independence early on.

OH MY…THAT IS EXTREMELY COOL HOW YOU UTILIZED THE FORETELLERS! I’m curious though, what gave you the idea to do that?
Two things. One, I’m a huge Dissidia fan and something about the FF characters being handpicked by Cosmos gave them what I felt was like the “cool seal of approval”. I wanted that for the foretellers, so that they would instantly come across as important to the audience.
Two, MY HERO ACADEMIA! I love the way One for All works in that show. The idea that each generation has a hero who’s carrying on this lineage is so intriguing. While their individual power may not be that great, they can be an unstoppable force when combined.
@@KHREMAKE Now that you mentioned it, it reminds me of Avatar: The Last Airbender with the past avatars helping the current avatar out in a way. All in all I look forward to the next part(s)!
As much as I like the new lore, I think you could have set up the whole "Chaos-Cosmo-thingy" a bit more. Just a couple of scenes mentioning the inhabitants of the worlds praising Cosmo, or Sora looking at a statue of the Goddess and feeling some connection to it. Nevertheless, I loved the video! Though, I still don't know why Xemnas waited until now to open the gate to KH if he already had all the hearts needed. Will you explain it in the future?

Xemnas waited because he wanted complete loyalty from the organization. If he had let traitors get the power amp from Kingdom hearts, their combined force could’ve been enough to overpower him.

I love kh2 but the story felt meh but you made it interesting plus it cool you made ven and roxas connection more unique and way better than the og story of roxas just being sora nobody where everyone constantly call sora his name to me l find it annoying being sora and roxas look nothing alike anyways l just wanna say l'm impressive with your ideas when it's comes to your version of kh wish square hired you last thing love that Roxas has a genuinely bond with hayner, pence and olette

Personally I feel Roxas wouldn't tell the people of Twilight town about his past in fact I think it would've been better if Roxas had joined his friends at the struggle tournament and Riku had of been the one to try and evacuate everyone.
I mean it's a good next chapter in the story bit I feel Roxas doing that was way to awkward and cringy but maybe that's just me.

@@laststrike4411 it just feels to me at least that his past is complicated and while he might tell his friends about it one day it's too complicated to tell the entire town when he needs them to evacuate from the organisation's attack, it's also a bit cringy like I saidnin my original comment maybe that's just me but I feel telling the entire town his past right then and there takes away from the urgency of needing to evacuate everyone.
@@dunkbuscusgaming7016 I get what you mean about an entire explanation dragging down the urgency of evacuating. That being said, it shouldn't be too hard to summarize that you're a clone made by a cult trying to harness the power of God (basically) and now they need to run because they did it.
Also, while it is sorta cringe, I can understand on two points:
A) It shows how close-knit the entire Twilight Town community is/How Roxas had found a place for himself
B) A natural step in character progression(?).
Roxas hates being lied to/kept out of the loop, so he feels uneasy lying and tells the truth first chance he gets.
Again, though, I get where you're coming from.
@@laststrike4411 while I do get that I feel at most Roxas could've told the Usual Spot gang but telling the entire town feels a bit too weird and as I said feels out of place with the whole evacuation thing but yeah maybe that's just me.

I can see that. It’s front loaded a bit in this episode, so that it flows more naturally into the next part 😄
@@KHREMAKE it's not that, up until this point the characters drove the story, it was the story of Sora, Xehanort, Ventus, Roxas, Riku and everyone else, now it feels a little less to me, it's the story of Chaos and Cosmos. In the original lore, the reason people love that complicated story is that it's the story of people, not gods, even with the Master of Masters. That's why I love your iteration of Ansem, Ventus, Terra and Roxas, it's *their* story
@@JesusFreak98 Yes, he has been made aware of a larger overall conflict but I don’t believe that detracts from the more self contained character moments. Much like the actual FF Dissidia story I’ve tried very hard to keep Sora’s journey at the forefront while the conflict between Cosmos and Chaos is more of a looming issue. I think in episode 9 I talk about both of them for less than a minute in total. This is still very much the Sora show 👍
