Please could you do a “best” vs “worst” parts of university? Or something that talks about your experience with society’s? I always look up to your content so thank you Megan 💜
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
@Connor Tripp thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Watched this even though I graduated 2 years ago lol. The main piece of advice I’d give is don’t buy everything before you go as there will be shops near you or you can order online! I made the mistake of buying basically everything and it was just so unnecessary to do so. Good luck to everyone starting uni soon, it will honestly be the best experience and I wish I could go back ❤️
couldn't have come at a better time! I'm (hopefully!!) going to uni this September, and starting to get a few things for uni, thank you so much for this!
For washing, I’ve read everywhere it’s cheaper to hand wash small stuff and delicates and take a drying rack. It’s for those people who are money conscious because washing can totally rack up to a lot. Where I’m going it’s £3.60 a wash and £1.70 per dry and separating whites and colours and darks is a lot when you add it up. So hand was wherever you can
I went to Edinburgh uni! Granted it was 5 years ago, but u literally need basics I.e pots, cutlery, glasses and ur clothes I literally used nothing else. If u think u need something always get it after the fact! IMO! Good luck!
Inu Minu x yeah I went back to do my postgrad there! Edinburgh is a good city, it’s relatively small so everything is close by, the campus (if ur on main campus) is really easy to navigate and right next to the meadows for walks. There’s loads of good restaurants/bars. The gym at pleasance is really good aswell! The only down side is how much it costs to rent compared to everywhere else in Scotland but if that’s not an issue for u, then it’s really great!
I’m going to Bath this year and I haven’t even started buying stuff! This really helped along with other vids to know what’s sort of more useful to take
Bethany Watts the city is so beautiful!😍 the night life is pretty good too but also you're super close to Bristol! In terms of the actual uni the campus is amazing, I do drama and all the lecturers are really friendly & super helpful! If you wanna message me feel free X
I had an ensuite as well and having 2 bins was ideal. I'm glad I didn't get a bath mat as well ! Having a small drying rack is helpful. My halls had the tumble driers broken for a few weeks.
This is really interesting because a lot of the things you said you didn't use I used so much in both my first and second year of uni. The clothes rack being a big one I used it a bit in first year as our dryers were terrible and in second year our house and every student house we looked at didn't have a dryer so it was an essential.
You inspired us to start uploading on RUclips ever since your “starting RUclips” video a couple of weeks ago! We’ve loved making content so much we’ve managed to upload 4 videos in 9 days - so thank you Megan!! Xx
Hey, I really enjoyed this video and seeing all your opinions now on everything. I thought about the plastic/material boxes was really interesting. One thing I struggled with was having both the old video and you commentary is it wasn't paused as I couldn't always tell what you were saying. Thank you for the video though!
why is it that every single glass goes missing in freshers.... literally never found mine even when we cleared the flat out !!! Gin in a mug was my entire year for pres lol x
oh my! yeah you need a colander! lmao! idk if this is helpful but I've always found that sifts are useful in baking to rid large pieces in flour and sugar.
when are you moving back to uni? and are you excited to decorate your new room? I just moved into my 2nd year house/room and it was so fun getting to decorate in a different way to first year.
Really good video! You always make great content. But just one advice for you regarding this sort of video - try editing the audio, and make the inserted video lower in volume or something when you commenting on it, because I found myself having a bit of a hard time hearing what you were saying about the video while it was playing. I don’t know if it was just me, but still great video ❤️
I am watching this as a mum. My son will be going to uni in 2 years ( if he chooses) and we are not a well off family so I plan on doing a bottom drawer ( ask your mum lol) for him and buy bits as I see them in sales etc This was great thanks
If your son gets the full loan amount, make sure to ask what funds are available through the uni. There is a discretionary hardship fund which gives out ~£1000 a year on top of the bursary. It’s not usually advertised though whereas the bursary is usually automatically given to the lowest income households but it is always available, usually on a first come first served basis x
I would recommend that if u do buy stuff, letting him take your stuff even if you need it, it's a good opportunity to buy new for yourself rather than buying new for him to use for like 3 years
Not sure if this will make sense but do you have any advice for starting Uni shopping? I'm heading to Uni in September (if all goes well) but I have no idea where to start. I know a basic colour palette but I always get overwhelmed when I'm looking in the shops for things.
What sorts of things do you need for your course? I’m starting my course in Illustration at Leeds Beckett so I’m just curious if there’s anything you think is helpful for students in art courses?
Could you maybe one time (if you haven’t already) talk about how you financially live in uni like student loans, accommodation fees, money spent on nights out shopping etc. Sorry I’m just most scared about how I’ll be able to afford it all without being in debt for years
Lifehack for the Londoners. Try looking for the product you want on Portal Deliveries, they deliver to you for free and on the same day. Been a lifesaver as a uni student. Saved me a lot of time and money.
the editing needs to improve. cant keep track of what she's narrating cuz the audio keeps clashing.. and she keeps tapping the side of her nose ugh so irritating.
me watching now: yep, uh huh, note taken
me in the shop: i want that, that, that, that, that
cashier: that's £800
Can you do what you’ll need for your studies, like do we need highlighters folders, what’s the best way to keep organised. Thanks gal x!
Diary, notebooks, a folder for paper and notes, highlighters, pens :)
@@kornelianellie3218 how much is necessary like 2/3 folders, more?
@@GeeseAreJustBastardizedSwans one for each module i think is sufficient you'll find out when you get your module list
@@kornelianellie3218 thankyou x

@Connor Tripp It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you really help me out :D
