- Are you looking for the ultimate "looks killer and hauls heavy" dump truck? You can get darn close to 21T in this truck depending on how much you ate last night.
X15 with 565hp 1850tq
307" WB gives an allowable bridge capacity of 71,000 lbs
Went across the scales with 3/4 of a tank of fuel at 28,940 lbs.
18 speed manual transmission
Front and rear disc brakes
Alcoa DuraBrite wheels
VIT Interior
This truck has everything - Disc brakes, Chalmers suspension, 18 speed - and the VIT interior! Beautiful truck, inside and out.
Yeah....it's the real deal and a bag of chips. :D
Now that's a W990. Love this configuration. The W990 day cab in this 6 axle/Quint setup looks killer!! I am sure it would also look killer in a Quad setup as well. It defiantly will grab your attention!! That's for sure!!
Thanks Jonathan! Attention and payload.....the two things we all love :)
Day cab W990 is definitely my favorite!
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 it's just sharp. I really like it also.
@@KenworthofRichfield
Best looking one as I've seen as a dump truck thus far.
I definitely think that the W990 looks its best as a dump truck as a stretched out quad, 6 axle and probably a 7 axle. Our dealer has a 7 axle slated for Spring of 2020. Seen some as short tri axles and to me the long hood on that setup just doesn't look right to me. Heck, even a 900 as a tri axle doesn't look great either.
The day cab and sleeper trucks look great, especially when they're certain colors.
Big beautiful unit 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
We agree!!!!!!!
Damn that truck looks good
We have to agree with you on this.
What a nice unit! Great video again Josh you’re the man!
i know I'm pretty randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Hamza Zane Flixportal :P
@Sonny Andres Thanks, I went there and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it!
@Hamza Zane Glad I could help xD
Now that I have seen the whole video, this truck is definitely is bad @$$! My type of truck for sure. Here in Virginia we spec them them a lil bit different, but still somewhat similar. That interior besides the Limited Edition interior is the next best thing. Gotta thank Kenworth of Columbus (I think) for allowing for you to do a video of this truck. Been waiting for a W990 to be spec'd like this.
Wayne Norbrey, Jr it’d still work for you guys.... ;)
@@KenworthofRichfield
Yep, here a longer bridge length allows for more tonnage that can be hauled and most trucks here don't have the bodies that close to the back of the cab. Wheelbase looks to be around 324-336 is my guest. Definitely workable here in Virginia.
I seen in the description on the W990 Facebook page that it's a 307" wheelbase.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 yuppers. Didn't have that spec when I did the video. lol
Holy $#!# is what I was like when I seen the picture posted on Monday.
It's definitely loud looking. :D
@@KenworthofRichfield
I've watched this video quite a few times (I lost count) and that reaction has me rolling every time. I had that same reaction when I seen the picture on the W990 Facebook page.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 Red and Shiny...... I don't think that there's another pair of words that cover it better.
@@KenworthofRichfield
Lol! I hear ya. Blue and shiny would work for me too.
18 speed eaton yes!
Not a driver and wasn’t necessarily the biggest fan of the new style KWs, but Man that W990 has grown on me I will say that. It’s no W900 or T800 but I like it. Wouldn’t mind taking it for a spin
Have you seen one up close? So much better up close even
I saw one at a truck stop the other day and it’s absolutely what did it for me. Even sitting next to a W900L it looked good to me, so I was sold. You can really see the difference in the 1.9m and 2.1m cabs side by side.
I live in TN and when I’m ready to purchase a new truck I’ll be coming to Richfield.
Please tell me im not the only one who has seen that beautiful KW T600 in the background.
Gotta love the classics
Nice catch. I miss my T600
Beautiful truck!
Yes......yes it is. :D
I'm officially apart of the W990 club, if there was one. My boss just surprised me today with a brand new 2020 W990 7 axle dump truck. Seeing this truck was like the beginning of this video. Holy $#!+...
Truck is spec'd totally by myself and it was a truck that I had spec'd with the possible intentions of possibly getting the boss to consider buying it.
The trucks specs are
510 Paccar, 18 spd manual, Paccar front axle, 3:73 Meritor rears, Hendrickson 10k lift axles, Ultra One 22.5 front wheels and tires, Ultra 24.5 rear wheels and tires and 19.5 for the lift axles. Heritage 21' aluminum body and the interior is the complete Limited Edition w/ the Navplus and gauges. The trucks color is Legendary Blue and it's weight with 3/4 tank of fuel is 29,540. I'll have to email you some pictures.
That's awesome! Congrats Wayne!!!!! Would love to see a pic!
@@KenworthofRichfield
Already sent you them.
Nice dump truck. 2 many axles
I know its a bridge law thing.
But i miss 27ton payload in a 16ft triaxle shortnoze L9000. 26,500Ib tare 80000lb gross. All steel bed hand crank flip tarp. I could take that truck anywhere but across a scale. Corse that was east central ky. 19yrs ago . times change.
Jerry Kinnin times have changed.....but there’s some great stuff that we’ve gotten out of that also.
I had a 94 L9000 triaxle with a n14, 18 Eaton and rubber block rears that I loved dearly but she beat me up bad. I was sore every day. I miss the feel of the old trucks but I much prefer comfort.
@@MistaRoyanT Old trucks are fun.....but newer trucks make the hard work just that little bit easier. :D
Just bought my first automatic 18 spd. Ultra in a T880 I'm looking forward to operating it
Great truck
Thanks! We agree!!!
I love that truck
We can setup a marriage... :D
Lol
😍😍😍 simply beautiful!!
Yes....yes it is.
What are the differences between this W990 and the T880 you reviewed?
Besides engine & tranny, which are interchangeable, why would you prefer one over the other?
I'd love one of these in super dump
We'd have no problem doing that for you.....
Holy shift!!! That's a AWESOME $ 40,000.00 truck....... lol
Totally....there may be a wrong digit or misplaced decimal or something though :)
Ima guess $200,000-$205,000
I know back in 2014 my 6 axle T880 was 189,000 and the following year they were 191,000.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 im guessing $256000

Sales challenge. ...sell some Kenworth Trucks to Your Neighbor Next Door Ward Trucking LOL
I'd love to! Who do I need to talk to there? :D
Someone in altoona pa main terminal. .....the ward family I think has ties to international cause its mostly what they get but mack seems to have made a sweet deal
@@GRADE8BOLT some fleets spend less on the truck initially and worry about the other costs down the road. :D
Id like new trucks if emissions didnt ruin everything. drop in a 12v71 and im happy. Screw dpf, def, regen and all that environmental bullcrap democrats spew out.
Ariman98 100% agreed. Gotta love the sound and smell of diesel. 🤤
And back idle screw back so when it idles with a surge
No issues with the emissions system on my truck and I had it since the beginning of 2016. Main thing with the newer trucks isl idling, I don't recommend just letting a emissions system truck just sit there and idle. If you need to idle I'd at least recommend idling at 1000 rpms.
Yeah, because the enviroment isn't important for Republicans! Lets make America great again and polute like there is no tomorrow... And before someone starts ranting about me being a snowflake: I like loud bikes, loud music and I work in construction 😎
Another option yes. Don’t be cheap. Order the 2050 torque package at least. Bigger trans, clutch, driveline, and rears. Duhhhh
But why is it necessary?
I'm interested in it how much did this truck
The more and more I watch this video and look at this truck. I'm already finding ways to make this truck a little bit lighter and still ableto get the job done. . It's a great spec, but I'd change a few things on it if I was spec'n it. For Ohio this is definitely a good spec'd truck.
I'd take one for a concrete mixer lol. Compared to the 2000 pete I'm running it would be nice
Id say shes a little too heavy at 28,500 lbs thus only alowing about 19 ton on an empty tank. Considering I drove a 6 axle 567 with a steel bed and 26,400lb empty weight and hauling a max 21 ton, this w990 is pretty damn heavy. But the looks almost makes it worth it
@@Mach_Style 26,400 w/ a steel bed?🤔 Mind if I ask for the spec's of that truck? I know Justin of JST has 6 axle 567's w/ steel bodies and I don't recall them being that light.
@@waynenorbreyjr9371 Our company did everything they could to make the truck light. Was a 6 axle with a mac steel body 26yd bed. How they got away with it being so light was that it was single framed and ran the lighter, smaller 10,000lb 6 lug drop axles. I was able to scale in at 26,450 with almost no fuel. full tank i was about 26900 or maybe even 27K if i had been playing in the mud lol. I usually hauled about 19.75 tons average. only problem with the single frame and that much weight meant there was a lot of flex in the frame when off road. And we were off road a lot. I personaly wouldnt build a truck as a single frame but thats what they did and I didnt care. Made me more money with the more weight we could carry. It showed too. we were some of the lights trucks in the central ohio area so we were able to move a lot of material for the people. I do miss my old company. Good people there.
Now I live in Tennessee and drive a quad axle running 80K lbs average. Though these trucks are really heavy specs. empty with a full tank my quad axle mack is like 31600lbs but I will still haul 25 to 27 ton in the steel bed.
@@Mach_Style
We have 6 axles dumps w/ 8k W&C lift axles and the cab and chassis weighs are a lil over 21k.
how many tons can you haul with this six axle truck legally?
Damn shame that wash that back window runs the whole picture
They did wash the whole truck. Unfortunately, it got rained on while I was there and when it was on it's way up to meet me in Ashland.
She's gorgeous 😍
Dam I want that truck. Boi, 💯
Ok Josh I love that you kept getting “video bombed”. 😂 That truck is awesome. (18 speed👏) Is that dual stack fulling functional or is one meer cosmetic? I’d have to hire full time detail person to keep all that bed polished. Oh and great music selection. RUclips Blue On Black, Five Finger Death Punch. I think you might have a new song for next video. 😂👍
The chrome air intake covers would look ten times better color matched.
I've looked at when people have color matched them in photoshop....and it's just not the same....
Spec'd good but I would have went with the auto shift. Pushing the clutch thousand of times every day gets old quick.
Totally get that, but we figured that this truck is probably going to someone that likes that kinda thing. :D
Would like to see it duplicated in a w 900 L Or a T 800
I'm looking for a w900 dump truck that size but with a smooth side aluminum box
We can do this!!!! Give us a call on it.
@@KenworthofRichfield will do
29k lbs empty...What’s the hauling capacity on that thing?
With the wheelbase and bridge laws here, you can run 71,000 total.
Do they still make the flat window w900 ???? Or shall I call it the flat panel w900 ????
It's not completely flat, but close if you get the 2 piece windshield.
Kenworth of Richfield that’s the answer I was hoping to hear .... thank you sir !
What’s the price difference between dura brights and lvl 1 Alcoa’s? Lvl 1s polish up just as nice.
It's about $500 for the set if I remember correctly. With the DuraBright wheels, the difference is the longevity.
BrandonPryorMusic but you pretty much have to have the durabrites with disc brakes though unless you want to fully sand a polish your wheels monthly.
@@chevyon37s It's a good finish that lasts.
@@KenworthofRichfield
The Dura Brights that are on my 2015 T880 that I had back in 2014 are still shiny. There probably all scratched up, but they still shine.
Nothing more to say about this beast, maybe the rear dif ratio
It actually sold, but we do have one in Columbus that's for 4.10's in it. :D
What's the price range for this beauty??
what can it haul with axels up and down
Down, you can easily stick 21+ ton in the bed. Up.... 14T

How come they made the new w9 so ugly. Should have used the Australian version and modified the fenders to match the old 900L

Would love that in heavy haul specs
Alfab dump body is the best dump trailers
Don't know much about the Alfab body, our salesman had a chance to set some trucks up with them. They were higher than Rhodes and Heritage and I think they were a lil bit heavier. Not a bad looking body, if I had my choice I'm going to go with a Rhodes.
Definitely a quality product and to keep the weight down on this one, they worked out some custom stuff for us.

with some shine to it. :D

most aluminum beds to dont have high lifts. Its actually very rare to see one specd with a hi lift.
