(This brand's kitchen knife had been purchased. It is very sharp and cuts vegetables and meat like Tofu smoothly.)
for the people complaining; it's not about whether a knife is stamped or forged (even forged blades can be severely flaw due to impurities & heat treatment) it's about the actually steel that is being used. So if they are using German steel, or Swiss steel that has been imported to China, then it can be a great knife.
So many people don't know the many kinds of steels out there, and just believe thy hype about forged blades, or knives made in Japan. Are Japanese knives good... Yes, but are they worth the money and better than cutting ingredients than other brands/steel types? NO. It's all about the steel and how it is sharpened.
professional
It's also about design, balance, heat treatment, thickness and handle.
The handle is pretty well attached, but looks very light. I wonder about the balance.
thats just a part of the quality , and knives are made whit a reason>>
Slice, cleaf, chop, saw.. they all need their own treatment and steel
sry dude but not sure you know something about knives. actually some of the best steels used for stainless steel knives come from japan: VG-10, AUS-10, SG2 (Super Gold 2), R2, ZDP-189, and HAP40 are all japanese steels ^^ . i dont talk about high carbon steel, damascus or sanmai steel but you also can add them to the long list of high quality japanese steels ...and btw, there is absolutely no steel form swiss which is better than any other quality steel you can find in any other europeeans countries ..
Oh yes, if the knife is not made of steel M390 or Elmax, then it is not a knife
Espetacular.

I didn't know '王麻子' was a famous brand, but I searched it on Google and it seems to be a famous knife shop in China.
However, although it is said to be a brand established in 1651, after the government of the People's Republic of China came into power, all the cutlery workshops in Beijing were integrated into '王麻子', and if the brand was sold due to bankruptcy, I think it would be a different brand even though the name is the same.
However, apart from what I said above, I think it could be a good brand in that it displays the name of the steel used in the last slideshow. (The marking on the steel or the type of steel does not guarantee that the knife is a good knife, but it may be a good guide for some people.)
Separately from this content, I wish that the knife would have the latin alphabet written on it along with Chinese characters.
Maybe it's because it's for domestic use, not for export... but foreigners can't write those letters. lol
Since I'm Korean, I had an input method for writing Chinese characters, but unless Korean, Chinese, or Japanese, there's almost no other way than copy and paste.
And things like xi, zhi, xing... I wish that the spelling method, which is supposedly used to input Chinese characters, will also change.
Well, this is just my opinion.
Because I still can't guess the pronunciation of that Chinese character. (In Korean, I know what that pronunciation is. I just don't know how to read that in Chinese. haha)
Cheaply made stamped knives with welded tangs.

So they acquired a brand that made forged knifes then got rid of all the forging and traditional manufacturing.
And now they are making forgeries of classical knives said brand made for over 100 years? Thanks but I prefer my knives forged from 1 piece no welded on tang or grips.
No wonder CN is in deep economical trouble...
If they are cutting from plate steel why not just include the tang😢
@@airbus7808The design would lose some efficiency, there would be more scrap metal left over after cutting. Every cent counts for China.
@@casualguydaniel exactly my point, plus quality of Chinese mass manufactured steel is known to be poor.
The whole thing is basically false advertising (bought old brand name wise) and a mass production of shitty wannabe quality knives. I rather pay 10 fold or more and have a knife that lasts me a lifetime. I don't care about the cent, I care about the quality.
Many products of this factory are OEM to German Zwilling
@@miracleprocess J.A. Henckels has a "second label" where products are sourced from various OEMs, but the main product lines are still made by themselves. Regarding forged vs stamped knives, each has its merits and shortcomings; the Japanese MAC brand makes it a selling point that they are all stamped, and quite a number of professional chefs favour them.

You's think with all the knives being turned out that everyone who needs or wants one would have them and not buy any more after a few years. Or are people just tossing them out when they get dull?
There's a lot of people in the world. Also, in a heavy use environment like a kitchen/butchery they get very abused and start to lose their shape, tips get snapped, etc. And you need reserve knives if you don't do your sharpening on site.
You are right, although, when you look at this sick throw away society, I wouldn't be surprised if people threw them out. Another scenario is some of those cheap, and not so cheap knife sharpeners, grind off way more metal than needed. As @wills5482 below said, they lose their shape, especially if you use those knife sharpeners I spoke of, they also use them as levers, which bend and break the points.
I was a slaughterman for over 30 years, but I only went through two knives a year, although some went through 6-8, not because they used them more, because they weren't real good at using a steel, not that I was that great at it either.
I am constantly surprised by how dull some people's knives are.
Glory? It's a mass produced knife. It may be a good knife, but glorious? Calm down.
@@user-eq1xb8hs5xnot as much about superior quality as superior process and the honor derived thereafter. But generally speaking, a master blade smith will produce superior quality blades through a superior process as compared to those made by machine.

Bah!
First of all, I admit that modern mass-produced kitchen knives do not have the sharpness and durability of traditional forged knives, but the output cannot increase. For the average home user, the compromise solution is to buy a kitchen knife based on 9cr18mov steel or better, which is good in price and quality.
La qualite produite par 王麻子 (Wangmazi) est suffisante pour 99,9% des utilisateurs.
