In the tactical world, why would you do a reload while a person was still threatening you -IF- you did not have to? Like, why do a speed reload while the threat is still shooting at you? Wouldn't you want to use every round in the mag and every second on the clock to try and stop their behavior? I head the eyes argument often by both sides of the spectrum and everything in between. If you were not getting the result you wanted through that entire mag and the slide locks open then yes, reload. But who cares if you look for .25 seconds or if you look for .50 seconds? They aren't going to do anything significant that would totally get you keeeled off of that alone unless they were a wizard.
I totally get what JJ meant, but I am just shouting through the window of discussion is all. Love JJ. Love the vid.

You arent meant to reload during the actual firefight, you are supposed to reload when there are no current threats. You are topping off the gun after you are clear for the moment, because you never know if a second or third threat may be on the way. And yes, in a defensive scenario, a quarter of a second is the difference between life and death. Remember, you are not a cop, you cannot pull your gun out because you have the slight thought in the back of your head that you might be in danger. As a civilian, your gun is only DEFENSIVE. You are only ever going to pull a gun on a threat that is already happening. That means you are most likely going to be pulling a gun on a gun that is already drawn on you.
