I always had my partner equip a first aid spray when trying to take off the pendant. That way if Jill kicks you, your partner can automatically spray the first aid, so both can fully heal even when dying. It is quicker when u have it equipped as u don't need to go into your inventory. I was terrible with my aim, when trying to shoot the pendant off, so I just used the flash grenades and button mashing method. It's longer but was the only way I could do it successfully on professional. Just need a good partner as well.

Instead of a scarab, they could have used an attractive diamond shaped implant on Jill's forehead. It would have been obvious what was controlling her, but it would have made more sense as that's the closest to the prefrontal cortex you get before you go full on lobotomy. You could also get a bit darker, too, if they had wanted. Have Wesker state that the trauma from the fall had suppressed Jill's immune system, and reactivated the T-virus, providing him the opportunity to apply the BOW control methods Umbrella had been developing before it collapsed. So, without the control chip, Jill's mind would degenerate to a zombified state, with her flesh turning grey from a T-virus induced reactive autoimmunity of sorts. Wesker leaves you to put Jill down. o_0
