    A huge thank you to all who have shared your opposition to House Bill 4099! Our collective efforts have succeeded in changing House Bill 4099 from a proposed law into a proposal for an Advisory Panel to look at the best ways to share our waterways while mitigating the impact of wakes from towboats.
    Another thank you goes to State Representative Vial for agreeing to take more time to look at this issue from all sides.
    At this point, let’s work together to educate ourselves and other boaters. We all need to work together to keep our water ways open and safe. Below is a quick list of things to remember when we are out on the water:
    - Stay at least 150 feet from shoreline, docks and other structures
    - When picking up a fallen rider, stop and turn around slowly, avoiding power turns that throw waves in all directions
    - Avoid repetitive passes through the same area
    - Listen to music at reasonable levels
    Be a good steward of the sport and we will continue to enjoy all the access we have now.

    LOVE that you took the time & effort to make this video! Stop the power turners!!!!!! Now, if we could only get more people to watch this video and understand that EVERYONE will benefit from not doing power turns...including “THEM”! This is just as important on lakes...not just for river boaters! Thank you for posting this!

    100 % correct, we have done that since the 80's in South Africa. Great clip.

    And it keeps the boat from taking on water over the bow! Need this vid to go viral!

    I actually didn't know this common sense, and used to power turn. Did this all last summer and it works awesome! Thanks!

    I really wish all Wake Board Boats followed your advice, we've had a real problem with them trying to swamp fishing boats or smaller boats and kayakers here in TN.

    Good video. Been driving ski boats since the 80s (yeah I'm old), we always slowed down out of respect for other skiers/boarders.

    32 dislikes to this video at time of writing this post. What is there to dislike? Come on people! This maybe common sense to some, but not all, yet it will help every water user out there. Win win.

    thanks for that. Grew up in the ca delta waking in the mid 90's to date myself. byerly and the scud. Turned into a bass guy who deals with rollers over the bow all day. Funny how things work out. The fam wanted a wake boat. Picked up a malibu 23 lsv and have over 2000lbs of ballast and make this slow turn all day. Common sense. Believe me there are plenty of pissed off anglers ready to go to battle over the wake thing. Be cool on the water.

    This just popped up in my recommended. I can say I had a lot of people doing this on my local lake this year. I was down in the water and this one boat almost hit both me and my boat with his tube then did a power turn less that 30 from me to go pick up the person who jumped off the tube cause he thought he was going to hit my boat. The boat driver then blamed me for everything....

    The 44 dislikes are probably the power turn idiots that cause the same section of the river this video was shot to now be closed to surfing, wakeboarding, tubing!!
    Please be responsible boat drivers before we loose more areas to ride!!

  • @ncboarderboy
    @ncboarderboy 6 лет назад +1

    I thought you want to turn toward the side that the rider is on, we ride a little bit listed and the boat really doesn't turn the other direction very well .

    • @SFCISME
      @SFCISME 6 лет назад +1

      No, exact opposite. Turn towards your small wake side.

    • @SFCISME
      @SFCISME 6 лет назад

      Turning towards your surf wave you risk actually swamping or sinking your boat if you are really loaded down.

    • @chriskelley9718
      @chriskelley9718 6 лет назад +4

      You should always pull up to the fallen rider on the driver side so you can clearly see the rider in the water. You can lose site of the down rider on the pass side and run the risk of hitting them. After the rider falls I throw it in nuetral and let the large waves pass. bust a u turn and have the fallen rider clearly in my vision to avoid contact with him

Wish every bayliner-capri asshole would watch this video; it seems like they follow me with their ugly red inner tube, each time I put by wakeboard on lol, and fill the ballast

  • @bhrbek

    For sure, no power turns in a heavily loaded wake boat. Turn TOWARDS the shore though. ALWAYS turn TOWARDS the shore. NEVER PASS PEOPLE between the boat and shore unless the boat in front is driving 1,000's of feet from shore. - Just sayin....

    • @matthewspino1653
      @matthewspino1653 6 лет назад +2

      Actually, turn away from the large wake. If your wake if left, turn right. If the wake is right, turn left.
