    • @jaymum23
      @jaymum23 Год назад

      Kinda wish they just let Mark Lester sing. You can hear him briefly in the call-and-response duet part of “Consider Yourself” and he’s fine. I prefer boy roles to be spoken and sang by actual boys. One who I am close to is doing a phenomenal job as Oliver right now in two productions and I would dub his voice over the girl who sang in this film in a heartbeat.

    • @oliverbrownlow5615
      @oliverbrownlow5615 11 месяцев назад +1

      Here's another "twist": maybe Oliver wasn't dubbed by a girl after all. The claim by Kathe Green, daughter of the film's musical director John Green, that she dubbed Mark Lester's singing in *Oliver!* was disputed in 2011 by a former BBC 2 Radio producer named Roger Bowman, who says that as an 11-year-old child singer, he was hired to dub Mark's singing, and that his voice, not Green's, is the one actually heard in the film.
