Many people complains that Bugera amps are shit and breaks often. but with my Bugera Trirec i didn't have any problems and when i changed tubes in it, it sounds amaizing. Killer tone :D
They were very unreliable back in the day, with their first models having a plastic clip that melted and could even catch fire. After that was fixed they still were not very reliable and they still carry that reputation to this day. Now they have upped their QC quite a bit (and prices have gone up on new models) so I think they are pretty safe buys today, atleast for bedroom guitarists and if you are unlucky and get a lemon the warranty takes care of it and you should eventually get one that does not break. But the used market is still full of the old, less well made ones and you are on your own if one breaks so be mindful of that.
I agree about their past but believe it or not, I have a friend that works in the industry and he confirmed they are actually hand built and wired and their reliability is just as good as anything else today. My 6262 is a year old and hasn't failed me once. They can not be beat for the price. I got it brand new from a guy for $500 and it sounds better than my Mesa TR that cost me a fortune. It sits And collects dust cause the 6262 is just so tight and not fizzy and it's one of those rare amps that the higher you crank the gain, the better it gets. Most have a sweet spot around 1-2 o'clock. I'll never sell it. And whoever said the comment about the Sovteks couldn't be more correct. It was the first thing I did and it's just ridiculous now.
It's hard to see you saying "its kadence" instead of "owminator here" but well i think time will make me get used to it haha. Very nice review as always. Im glad you're back on youtube man!
yep sounds like a 5150 or 6505 style amp love it. I really enjoy all the more budget friendly gear we got now. I mean 600 bucks new is pretty good. Nice demo and playing!
I guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can give me!
@Nathan Axel Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Very good and detailed review :) I have Bugera Trirec Infinium, but i really like how Peavey 6505 or 6505+ sounds. But it costs twice than Bugera 6262 and i think that Bugera 6262 sounds nearly identical like Peavey. So i'll probably get it someday :)
I bought this amp from ebay brand new and it worked for a minute then it had no sound I couldn't find anyone locally that can fix the amp but I remember it had a very good tone but heavy as hell in weight
I know this is a old video but wanted to know if you have any problems with your deathbucker. I am about to pull two of them outa my King V no matter what I do I just cant get them to stop picking up computer noises from my pc when trying to record. I have used shield paint on everything I can and they are picking up what I think might be hard drive noise or fan noise. I do plan to go fully SSD and hope that helps but I do not have problems with standard humbuckers . Yes single coils pick it up too but these no matter if wired single coil mode or in standard bucking mode just pick up too much computer noise . I'm rather bummed.
I ordered the infinium so fucking excited. Couple questions. When you were doing the back and foward between single and dual guitars on the dual i heard almost like a scraping noise on it. What was that? Second question i have an ibanez rga42fm with those ibanez branded actives in them. I was thinking switching them to the SD invaders do you think its worth the trouble of going active to passive and do you think it will sound better?
The scraping noise was my terrible playing ;) I think passives in general are more versatile than actives, and some good SDs are gonna assblast any stock active pickups. I do think the invaders are too dark sounding though. The Nazgül in my guitar is kind of extreme in the opposite direction, but I guess it's all to taste. Consider the Pegasus, the JB or a good ole' Distortion as well.
Kadence hey i thought your playing was dope lol but yea they are dark and yea its def a taste thing i actually already compared the two i prefer the invaders because of the darkness in the tone the nazgul tho heavy af it was too bright for my taste. There just so many damn good pickups its hard to choose.
MadBurner1 I recently brought the 6262 infinium second hand, I absolutely love it! it's based off the 6505+ from Peavey. The 333XL I think is based on the Peavey JSX and Trirec is based on the Mesa Dual Rectifier. obviously they're not 100% the same but they're pretty close to what they try and emulate. Hopefully that helps you to narrow down your choice by what tone you're after. I reckon they're all amazing for what they are. Just make sure you purchase the amps with the "infinium" name as they corrected some fairly major faults that plagued the non infinium range.
The Trirec sounds nothing like the Mesa dual rectifier. In fact, Ryan Bruce does a comparison vid on the 2 amps and the trirec destroys the mesa. The mesa is just so muddy while the trirec is nice and crisp.
I did not watch the entire video you might have mentioned it. But I have a set of deathbuckers in my V and I have noticed they do not seem to Noise Cancel as good as real humbuckers so when I get close to my PC to record the pickups pick up some strange digital noise . Did yours do this?
I've got a Bugera 6262 for 10 years. I've played it 5 hours everyday with hot biassed stock tubes inside it for 3.5 years. A friend of mine spilled a beverage on it while the amp was on. I turned the amp off with lightning speed. The beverage got two of the power tubes near the input jack wet. I cleaned those and the sockets with paper towel and dried it for about 20 minutes with hair dryer until i was sure. Then i played it for another two weeks but those two tubes started red plating until they popped out a fuse. I opened it up and removed the tubes then i saw burn marks in the tube sockets. I thought it was done for. I didn't even try to fix it or hire a technician because i knew they were ready to rip me off. I decided to get a bedroom level small amplifier and man 6262, it's way too loud for an apartment. I used crappy small amps and not really been to playing guitar because of work and life not having much time and all those stupid excuses. Then recently around 2 months ago i got into playing guitar for long hours again. Decided to fix this amp. Cleaned up the board with contact cleaner and replaced two blown fuses on the power stage. Did not replace the old tubes. I just cleaned them up with a contact cleaner this time and turned the amp on. It worked. The two tubes were red plating still tho. But they were really heavily used. Hot biased and for 3.5 years 5 hours of everyday use they made it. I thought it was time to replace the tubes and ordered a TAD 6L6GC Quartet from Thomann. But i could not wait for the new tubes to arrive. I just thought maybe if i swap the tube 1(fine tube) with tube 3(red plating), i would balance the stress and with a colder bias it would stable. And yes it did! It even sounded great! I used it for about 2 weeks like that until the tubes arrive. I installed the new tubes. re-biased the amp and been using it just fine ever since. Do not believe shit people tell you about these amps. Any electronic device can die anytime because of the environmental factors. Even for the top quality brand shit can happen. If you get these amps, make sure you open up the chassis and check if any connection is loose. If the non glued pin type connectors get loose for example, the speaker out. It will fuck up the amp. Just check the connections once you got the amp. These amplifiers are not built with the best quality check and also during shipping, connections may get loose. Make sure before you open up the chassis for any reason, turn off the amp while the stand by switch is on. It will ground the preamp stage and some capacitors on it. Then unplug the power after a few minutes. If you happen to turn off the standby then the power switch, some very high voltage electricity can still be present in capacitors and touching anywhere in the board can cause enough shock to kill you even while the amp is off and unplugged. I recommend wearing plastic protective gloves during the procedure for extra protection. If everything looks good. It's wise to check them from time to time, like once every few months.
Hi Andy, thanks for the kind words. I'm Danish but I don't sport much of a Danish accent in particular, so maybe just a generic European esque thingamajigg? Cheers.
Never put the power switch on if your tube amp is not hooked with cabinet. If you put the power switch on without speaker cabinet hoooked into amp then amp will get fried.

But was wondering when I first turn mine on it starts on the clean channel but I can hear a few quick clicks of a relay and the clean led light blinks really fast with the clicks then it stops clicking and is fine. My 333 XL has some kinda delay and lets the power supply voltage fully form up in the filter caps and then you hear the click and the lights and things come on. Im wondering if maybe there is some kinda delay circuit or something that is broken in mine. It only does it if its a cold start up for about a second and then is fine from there on out. Thanks
Hi Jennifer, I haven't heard of this particular issue, nor have I experienced it myself. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Also, it was the previous owner who took the logo off ;)

Do you think this amp is something similar to a Peavy 6505?
Indeed, they sound extremely similar.
ok. thanks.
Pretty sure the 6262 is actually based on the Soldano, just like the Peavey 5150 was. Why would Bugera have copied a copy?
Well yea. The 6262 is a 5150 III copy, which in turn is a variety of a SLO 100 copy. Why do they do it?
Because it sounds great. That's all there is to it I think.
Well, actually I think there's a bit of added design in the 6262 now that I look at all 3...the SLO and 5150 both have 5 preamp tubes, whereas the 6262 has 6 preamp tubes. Perhaps not much more complicated in terms of designing a circuit, but I think it might have a fairly dramatic impact on voicing. My 6262 could be at bedroom volume and still sound incredible with no pedals. I wonder if more preamp tubes has something to do with that.
All I know for certain is that the more preamp tubes you have in a cascading type amplifier, the more gain it's gonna crank out. And the 6262 sure isn't lacking on gain.
Yeah, more preamp tubes equating to more gain was the impression I had as well. Agreed it's no slouch there. :)
I've seen people replacing the 6th preamp tube with a 12AT7 I believe for slightly less gain which enables a zero gain clean sound on the clean channel. As you probably know, it's practically impossible to get a true clean sound out of a stock 6262. Something I've considered doing myself. Haven't got around to it yet though :S
