What Is The Starset Society

- Dustin Bates of Starset stops by the Q103 garage to talk with Dalton Castle and try to explain to him what the Starset society is all about... Dalton does the best he can to understand but the way ice works still blows Dalton's mind.

The Interviewer is trying to be funny with people who are trying to take something seriously
+Netflix and Dyl "What if I don't like to read?" Ugh.
Someone triggered Mr. Edgy here. How the fuck do you pronounce that mouthpiece name anyway?
@@Loddfafnisodr Did your mom drop you on your head when you were an infant?
For real…the guy asking the questions seems ignorant which is annoying 😒
Fire the hipster interveiwer
I don't like the interviewer here, he's a bit annoying, but heck yeah, I love the whole STARSET lore! If the Starset Society is real, or not: It's absolutely genius! 🔥
It sounds like this Dalton guy is taking these guys as a joke.
Interviewer is not a dumb douche, he's playing a dumb douche. He knows wtf is going on, and he's being funny.
I know other comments are already saying it, but damn, that interviewer is annoying. xD
Im confused whether or not this society is real or fake or part of a gig/band.
+BubbleCatFTW The society is a real thing
Pretty sure that's some kind of marketing strat they use for the band. We can't really tell if it will lead to anything, but I would doubt that. More like an extra layer to gather interest.
The Society is real
The Society exists.
BubbleCatFTW we had to dicover it!
TSS is actually a part of their lore...
at the beginning I was pissed off about the interviewer aswell, especially because of the "what if I don't like to read-?" (p.s.: dustins calm reply, holy shiteee lol!)
but the last part about the audience answering the phone cell lol, guess it was funny for real so for me I don't know if he really took the band / theme or so as an joke-, but for some reason I feel like he just wanted to escape from the serious deepness since that theme is really interesting but also somehow brainfucking aswell lol.
(sorry if I wrote something wrong, I am tired but just wanted to share my thoughts lololol)
Would love to be able to watch this....
Nah, the interviewer was valid, funny, I liked him. I signed up on the .org site and got my invite a week later. I am still skeptical about the whole "message" and the real people behind it, if any. The band is one of my new faves, however.
this band was actually put together because a man named Dr. Aston Wise who managed to detect a series of electrical impulses in space was threated by the United States Capitalism Oversight Coorporation (USCOO) that the transmittion he recieved was not to be made public in order to "avoid creating fear in the masses and protect religous freedoms". This really angered him for he felt the information collected was something that was everyones right to know so he created thestarsetsociety.org where he could speak with a group of like minded individuals and discuss how they could shed light on that scientific knowledge which is being illegally hidden to exploit an unassuming public. From there, they found a group of talented musicians with a scientific background of such knowledge and decided they would be used to inform the mass population of the elementary details within the transmission Dr. Aston Wise had recieved from space and from there the band named itself "Starset" to represent dr. aston's transmission from space that brought them all together to begin with.
***** Just wait. So the organization. Do u want to say they're...actually...saying...that...for...real?!
Please tell me how to sign up! I want to join as well!
MelonMuzikNOM I'm not sure why I'm tagged in this as I don't see any comments by myself in this comment chain, but I 'signed' up on their website. They've since changed their website so I don't know if you still can. it felt like subscribing to a newsletter though. Not very serious.
Wrong comment chain, dude
Love their music but this "Starset Society" stuff whether it's a marketing ploy or not is elementary at best. Even the few interviews I've watched of Dustin appear to show that he doesn't even know what it is.
Yeah, I thought about the same thing. I LOVE their music, but they seriously need to flesh out this concept better before they go to interviews, cause they themselves don't seem to realise it sounds pretty fake.
Your comments show you don’t actually understand. The question outlined it and he answered it plain and simple. If you don’t understand and see it then there lies a problem
“Let’s say I don’t like to read…”
“Well then, I’m sorry? You’re dumb.”
Amen. Shoulda seen this as a sign of what was to come back then. Hindsight is 20/20
I love the band, but I'm not sure Dustin knows what he's talking about.
Why does Dustin look like a baby in this
Young dustie
IKR??? Dustin is so cute ❤
Starset
Interesting!
They already do it.
Genius

I still don't quite understand
What is the probability, or possibility, that any machine could be used to do anything other than advance the conveniences of the human race to a point that we needn't rely on primitive technology?
+UnityPlays the technology could become so advanced that we could not live without it, like the light bulb; people can barely survive without it and someday technology could become so advanced that if, say a power out happened, lots of people could die. I think what they are trying to say is that we could become so lazy and rely on a machine to do everything for us.And it's already starting to happen, we have 3D printers so we would not have to go out to get something, there are 3D printers that use food, and if we use technology like this wrong, we would not be "humans" I guess, since we would do nothing and the machines would rule the world sort of "enslaving everyone" by making them rely to much on technology
Or we could get cybernetic enhancements that make us virtually immortal.
It's already happening. Read online and you'll see what I mean
+GamerGirl500 I think that is a very logical explanation, and a scary thought.
+leonidas1491 I believe that would be playing God. God is already God, you can think about that and support It, but I am actively against it due to my religion. Though let's not get into an argument about it, I respect others opinions. If it does come to pass, leave me in my grave after I gone, I prefer to not have to die again with no afterlife. Even being immortal is not actually one hundred percent immortal as long as God is around. And he is never going to go. But I'm just going to not get into a religious rant in the comments section of a video, nor do I want to get into an argument about religion.
I think that nobody takes what Starset is trying to spread seriously, but precisely the ignorant will be the first to be enslaved by new technologies.
What is starset society? Basically a free to play Scientology.
Starset decent band\music. Starset Society bull shit fake ass group and phony "message from the future". Can you say marketing ploy. An yes, I fell for it and checked out their site, gave 'em some traffic.
It sucks, and it kinda makes me hate Dustin tbh. There are a lot of younger listeners and they may take this seriously and get scared. Dustin doesn't care about that :(
+MiddleAgedMan InNeedOfADrink
Look at it this way. If kids get scared, they shouldn't listen to this or pay any mind to it. Just because one person doesn't like it doesn't mean you ruin it for everybody. I myself am part of the Society and most of the things are pretty damn real. Now, you can leave peacefully, or fuckin fight me.

When I wrote that the Starset society seemed pretty fake. Dustin's last band lost their record deal and I thought he just wanted to make sure that Starset wouldn't fail. At the time the website had this timeline which had all these interesting events but the last one was something like 'buy the Let It Die remix now!' and the sign up feature seemed more like I was signing up for a news letter. I was worried about kids because I know they won't think as logically as adults, and may get distressed and feel scared of this overly controlling government future where lots of people would be stuck in concentration camps. Now the Starset society seems more genuine. I was impressed by their new website which had science and technology news stories on it. Also I noticed one of the Starset society channels on RUclips disappeared. On it were a few clips of this future. I wonder if Dustin changed his mind about the message. Anyway yeah
Tl;dr: I feel differently now.
I don't trust Dustin. Idk
